I have been going to LV Nails for about 5 years. I always have a good experience and highly recommend.

I have my first appointment for my nails 2 1/2 weeks ago, I initially made the appointment, asking if they did acrylic fills with gel polish. They confirm that they could do that but when I arrived, they said I must've made my appointment with a different salon (I knew that was not the case.) however, I was leaving the next morning for vacation and needed my nails done. I ask them what they could do to help and they offered a "new technique" with these gel tips. They said it was much healthier for my nails and would last longer. So I gave them a try. The gentleman that did my nails actually did a fantastic job and they looked amazing after 2 1/2 weeks. My nails have grown out to a point where I definitely needed them done again. However, now I'm in an unfortunate predicament, where I have to go back to the same place, because they are the only ones that use these kinds of applications that I can find. My appointment was for 2 o'clock but they told me I could get there a little early or arrived at 1:45 and one woman proceeded to set me up to get them soaked off around 250 and I moved to a different woman, who proceeded to start working on my nails at 2:45 I could see that I was not going to make my 330 appointment so I had to cancel that. At 3:30. She was still working on my nails and they just didn't seem to be coming out the same. unfortunately, I didn't want to stop her because I really needed to be out by 4 o'clock to pick up my son at daycare. In the end, I am extremely unhappy because they charged me $80. There's an enormous amount of buildup underneath the nails and on the sides and now there's a gap you can clearly see between the nail itself and these tips. They did not come out nearly as good as the first round, and I am very upset because it seemed like this was the first time she had done them. She could clearly see I was not happy, and even notice the issues herself, but never did and try to fix them. I realize I should've spoken up more, but I could see when I made one comment, they proceeded to speak to each other and mumbling something that I could not understand, and then didn't really communicate back with me. The fact that it took over two hours to get my nails done and they are still not great for $80. It's really unfortunate. It's hard to justify in the photos but if you look, you can see the gaps between my nail and these tips that will now collect tons of gunk. And all of the debris that was left behind. read more

They add an extra step (during the winter months) and do your massage with warm steam to help the lotion penetrate deeper and they didn't skimp on the massage either! I went in for a Gel X manicure fill after 3 1/2 weeks. I loved the original set and they were still in wonderful shape, just too long now. The original set was only $70. i went back expecting the same results. I couldn't be more wrong. After almost 2 hours I have lumpy rough nails that have a sticky feel to them. Heidi has been doing my eyelash extensions for as long as I can remember! She does them very naturally and will tell you the best way to take care of your lashes at the end of your appointment. I've gone at least 3-4 weeks without needing a refill, sometimes longer. The appointment is very relaxing and I fall asleep through the whole process until she gently wakes me up. The first time I ever had my lashes done without Heidi, I didn't like them because they were too thick and therefore had fallen out like crazy. Ever since Heidi has been doing my eyelashes I receive nonstop comments about how natural they look, and I love that! I will continue to go to Heidi for my eyelash needs foreverrr! :) read more

I just moved to the area and wanted to find a new salon. So I tried this one. They were very friendly and made some color suggestions. I was doing a dip and a pedicure. I sat down and the girl started prepping my nails. Then they asked me to move to a pedicure station. Next thing I know I am having both my nails and pedicure done at the same time. Asking me to reach and stretch my arms while getting a pedicure. I told the girl it was uncomfortable. It was fast and all total it was $125!!!!! One week later I am going to another salon. My nails have all chipped and broken. This has never happened to me. Never going again. Save yourself time and money, find another salon. read more

i have never had a worse nail experience in my life. my mom drove down from NH today to take my friends and i to get our nails done right near our college. we had never been to this place before and i wish we never went. i had 3 other people with me and i told them that when i made the appointment. they said it was okay but they'd have to do us 2 at a time because they only had 2 employees working today (labor day) which we were okay with. we ended up being 30 min late due to personal circumstances and we called and they said it was okay and they'll do the best they could. we got there at 3:04pm. they took me and took my gel off and let it soak and same with my friend but she had dip on. she took our other friend and did her nails because she didn't have anything on them before. my friend asked for a design which the employee did not even bother to do. LV nails let our nails soak in straight acetone for ONE HOUR. i am not exaggerating. you're only supposed to let them soak for 10 minutes because it is not good for your skin. the pictures below are what my nails looked like (look how dry my skin was) i ended up taking them off on my own because i noticed my skin was starting to itch and peel. i also noticed that one of my nails was so weak from sitting in acetone for so long that it literally broke. (you can see in picture it was my pointer finger) 30 min after i took them off they finally took me and i told her what color i wanted and when my friend got it for me it was not like the model nail AT ALL. the color i picked was a light green and the polish that was labeled the same was brown. the lady claimed that the nail models color changed overtime in the sun... so i picked out 2 more colors and they were not what i wanted at all so she just did clear because i just wanted to leave. we had been there for 2 hours at this point. they still never took my mom so my mom said never mind and she never got them done because it was taking so long. there were 2 other girls waiting to get their nails done and we're also very upset about the service. going back to my friend who wanted the design... the employee legit gave the polish to my friend to DO THE DESIGN HERSELF like i've never seen this before ever in my life. i will give it to them that it was a holiday and they're busy but they should of had more employees or just not of taken as many people. when we called and said we were going to be late they could of said no. we would of much rather go somewhere else than sit for 2 and a half hours. let's talk about the prices as well. at the end they tried charging my friend $45 for literally taking dip off and putting a clear gel coat on but we fought and she paid $25. they charged me $25 for no manicure, removal of old gel, a gel clear coat and fixing the nail they broke. they charged my other friend $45 for dip manicure. and my mom $0 because you know she didn't even get to get her nails done... the last picture is what they look like now. the woman did a nice job shaping them and fixing my broken nail (that they broke) but i will never go back. they never gave me the manicure i asked for and just ruined my day if i'm gonna be honest. i am driving 40 min home this weekend to go to my nail salon because i'm traumatized and never going to another nail salon that i've never been to before. we left LV nails at 5:39pm. read more

After reading the negative reviews, I can only imagine, the folks who left these comments must have been seen at another salon and left their reviews incorrectly for LV Nails. I say this because, I have been a customer of LV Nails for over six years, it is one of my favorite places, and I have never experienced anything the likes of what was stated in the other reviews. I have also never heard a bad word from any of my friends or family concerning the salon or the staff, or the cleanliness. The technicians here have consistently been gracious, accommodating, professional, and always take great care to ensure I am catered to, my visit is wonderful, and services provided are to my satisfaction. They have even gone out of their way when I have arrived late in the day and have not had an appointment, and have not rushed the process in spite of my lateness. Went there for tips and a nail dip. The result was bumpy, thick, and uneven. He used so much glue that the nails were stuck to my skin and they hurt. When I spoke up about being unhappy with the results, they pressured me and gave excuses. First and last time I will ever go to this nail salon. read more

I was recommended to come here by my mom who gets her facials done by Jessica. My first time at this salon and I decided to try out false eyelashes for the very first time and they came out amazing! I am extremely happy about them. Jessica was great and did an amazing job. Very comfy environment, she even gave me a blanket while laying on the bed before beginning the procedure. It is two hours long but she makes sure you're doing okay and that you're comfortable throughout the whole time. Definitely worth the money, you get what you pay for. Lash extensions are expensive but rather have a professional than pay for something cheaper and have them ruin your own lashes! Besides the lash extensions, their pedicures are amazing! They are an hour long and you get a wonderful massage out of it. They do hot stone massage, oil massage and then lotion massage. The staff are great. It's $42 but for an hour long, that's definitely better than paying $25-30 for a pedicure with a 2 minute rub. After reading the bad reviews I have to disagree, the staff are wonderful and the place is very clean. Would 100% recommend and definitely coming back. read more

Great effort with scrubbing my feet and making sure the massage was long enough (hot towel/hot stone, oil, lotion). I was fully satisfied. I made an appointment here for a manicure. This was not an experience I enjoyed. The manicurist was very rude, had a scowl on her face the whole time and was rough. She was pulling my fingers harshly, skipped the hand massage completely and left on some of my old nail polish. She was very curt and the whole manicure lasted less than 20 minutes. I had a GC for a pedicure here which I used last week. Not a bad little place, pretty clean. I decided to get a manicure as well while I was there. The pedicure was so so, I think my person was rushed so I didn't get the full stone treatment or massage on my calves that others' next to me did. They started my manicure while I was in the pedicure chair too, which was strange since I had to stretch my hands over for them to reach. They suggested a french manicure while I was getting a dark color on my nails so I switched - what they didn't tell me was that it was extra $ (told me this at the end). I think the prices here are way too high for what you get. $40 for a pedicure, $22 for my manicure (w/ french). Not sure if I'd go back again. read more

I appreciate the fact that I can get a manicure at the same time I'm getting a pedicure. For me, it's all about efficiency. My pedicures last a LONG time and the manicures can last 2 weeks if I use a top coat every other day. read more

On December 18th I had an appointment at LV Nails in Andover. During the pedicure, the felt a sharp pain and looked down to see that the technician had cut the skin on my big toe. As it continued to bleed, the technician repeatedly said she was sorry and continued to put pressure on the wound. Eventually, she covered it with a white, powder like substance to stop the bleeding and then continued with her work. I was disappointed with the cut but understood it was an accident and thought no more of it. The following day, my toe was extremely tender, but I assumed it was from the injury and would take a day or two to heel. The day after that, Saturday December 20, 2014, I woke early to find my entire toe area, starting with exactly where the cut was to be very red, swollen and irritated and the area of irritated, red and swollen skin was growing. Unfortunately, I was traveling out of state at this point for the holidays. I attempted to nurse my foot as best I could with bandages, warm soaks and the like until my return home on December 24th. At that point, my foot was so swollen, painful and under obvious stress, I immediately went in to see my family doctor. I was immediately diagnosed with a dangerous bacterial infection. The cut into my skin had allowed bacteria from either dirty utensils or a dirty pedicure tub (or both) to directly enter my bloodstream. You could visually see the infection spreading from the site of the wound up my foot. My doctor informed me that I should contact the board of health to let them know of the unsanitary conditions at this nail salon. She indicated that the infection was dangerous and was now in my bloodstream. The only way to stop it from spreading was to go on a 10 day course of antibiotics. I live a very healthy and holistic life and was so disappointed to have to introduce antibiotics into my system over something that could have been easily prevented by properly sanitizing a nail salon. Unfortunately, my toe and now foot continued to be painful, swollen and irritated. The antibiotics certainly helped, but it did not go away 100%. On Tuesday, January 6th, I went back to my doctor. She confirmed that there were still traces of the infection and insisted that I go on an even stronger, 10 day course of antibiotics. My doctor is well aware of my limited history with antibiotics and my reluctance to take them. She said it was necessary. She said she would hate to see me "lose a toe." On Thursday, January 8th, with the children back in school after the holiday vacation and my toe feeling less painful and healing, I went back to the LV Nails Salon in Andover to tell them what was happening. The owner immediately was very defensive. She called over my technician who stated she had "never cut anyone in her life". I reminded her that I had bleed for several minutes, I still had a scab from the wound and she had repeatedly said she was sorry during the incident. The technician and the owner stared at me blankly. I expressed frustration at not being "believed" as a customer. I showed them pictures of my infected foot. I showed them my TWO antibiotic prescription bottles. The owner than said "Why did you not come in sooner?" I explained that I was traveling out of state, then it was Christmas and then holiday break from school and in the midst of all that, I was traveling to doctor appointments and struggling to comfortably walk. I am not sure why it matters when I came by anyway. I indicated my disappointment in their utter lack of concern over my health and the state of cleanliness at their salon. I inquired why their first question to me was not "What tub were you sitting at so we can thoroughly clean that one?" I was never asked this even after I suggested it and it shows a complete lack of concern and initiative to correct the problem. After speaking English clearly, fluently and responsively the entire conversation, even demanding twice that I "take my boot off so they can see my foot" the owner suddenly looked at me and said "I do not speak english." Are you kidding me? I will never return to this salon again for fear of risking my personal health. I am writing in the hopes that something can be done to prevent this from happening to someone else. read more

This place give the best pedicure ever!!! If you go down to Boston or other towns, what you usually get for a regular pedicure at most decent places is a rushed service with about 30 sec. massage and if you want hot stone, it would cost extra. Here you get everything starting from getting the nails cut, the cuticles, the callus removed, the exfoliation, then you get the wonderful cooling mask with the hot towel on top, after that you get about 5 min throughout lower legs and foot massage, then you get the wonderful hot stone massage for about another 5 min and then the color. The whole pedicure took about an hour; not to mention they have the option for you to chose if you want to do your manicure at the same time too. This for me is a plus because it saves time and it makes you feel like you are being pampered from "fingers to toes". The salon over all is very clean, very well-maintained; you can tell that the owner put a lot of effort into keeping it clean and well-organized. The staffs are friendly and very considerate, they offered me tea and chocolate! What's better than that? I will definitely go back here. read more

My girlfriend and I went to the salon today to get manicures/pedicures. We did not have an appointment, but asked if they could take us and they said absolutely they could, and to pick out our color. We sat in the chairs with our feet soaking. And sat. And sat. We sat for 35 minutes. Within that time period, we asked if anyone would be taking us and the response was, "Yes! Just a minute". Someone finally came over and turned on our jets and said she was going to start. So she started my toes, but my friend was just sitting there. Again more waiting. I asked if someone would be taking my friend only to be met again with "She's just finishing up". Not exactly. It got to the point that she just couldn't wait any longer, so I stopped my pedicure (she had only done my cuticles at that point) because we both work and couldn't afford to wait for someone to finally address my friend. The girl then charged me $15 for the cuticle work and extra long soak. All i can say is this-- I am respectful of people's time. We would have totally understood if they couldn't take us. There are lots of options in the area. But don't tell us you can take us and then make us wait 40 minutes. RIDICULOUS! We won't be back. Too many other options in the area. read more

I have been a loyal customer for over 7 years and have tried every nail service offered. Best hot stone pedicure around and most relaxing! You can ask to have your nails done at the same time or choose to move to a mani station after. I've done both depending upon the time I have. I am a regular gel manicure person and am always happy. I've occasionally broken or chipped one nail and gone for repair to save the whole manicure and been more than pleased. I've recently (April ) been getting lash extensions and LOVE them, Jessica is brilliant at making them look natural , can't even count the complements. My whole family goes to LV and I was referred by regular clients who, as well have been there for years . My advice to the negative reviewers is to develop a relationship with a salon, try several services, and perhaps showing up as a new client with several bridesmaids in tow for an occasion as important as a wedding would have benefit from more communication and advanced planning. Allow your service providers to get to know you and your needs, they certainly would love to work with you to make your special day perfect. read more

Inconsistent. I went today for a gel manicure and pedicure. The pedicure was terrific. The young woman who tended to me was kind, asked me questions, made sure I was comfortable and my toes look great. But my nail experience left a lot to be desired. The young man who worked on my nails filed my skin so hard that my fingers were bleeding in two places. He rushed the gel manicure, didn't pay attention to the edges, did sloppy work overall. The led-light curing seemed very quick, but when I asked about it he just shrugged his shoulders. His attempts at small talk seemed intrusive, and at times completely unprofessional. When I went to pay, the total was $67 for both services. I handed him $80 and he put it in a drawer and said "All set!". In truth, I was going to leave the entirety of the change as a tip anyways, but his assumption felt out of line, and I left with a bad taste in my mouth after the whole experience. It's a busy salon so clearly they're doing good business, but I might look elsewhere for my next manicure. read more
