Horrible!!! The real definition of ungrateful. I've been going to these people for a few years. NEVER 80% satisfied. Kept sending my dogs ONLY WHEN ABSOLUTELY NEEDED because their grooming skills are very basic. They charge whatever price they think you should pay. Sometimes one charges $10 more than the other. Confused robbers. They also lie and say they don't have appointments ALL the time. I mean why haven't you expanded your business yet or hired people that can help your business. Since you're making all of this money and turning down appointments for two weeks straight, why are you at the same point you started at? The daughter needs a total attitude adjustment because she's going to keep driving customers away. I plan on taking my business to New Hyde Bark because I've heard good things about them. Been using Luzy's Dapper Dog for 3+ years, never had an issue until today. During the grooming, my dog got an irritation in his eyes. Had to take him to the vet right away, and found out he had an eye issue from the shampoo. Went back to Luzy's expecting some type of resolution or an offer to pay at least part of the $200+ vet bill. Instead, we were told many people try to hustle or claim that their dog was mistreated, and there was no resolution offered. I was shocked based on our long record of using this groomer. She was not there when I went to pick her up! They had to track her down and call the couple she was sent home with. Took my boys there for the first time and I have to say I am very impressed. Super friendly staff and they didn't take a long time at all. Priced fairly. Just a few spots on the dog that were slightly uneven, honestly not noticeable, but because I am a perfectionist I noticed it. They were happy to fix it and my pups look awesome! First, they gave me an appointment for the next day - something the others never did. Second, Mia came home looking beautiful and not smelling like a wet dog! And lastly, my husband was not happy that they did not take off enough hair (I thought she looked beautiful and her hair was so soft) so I called them and they told me to bring her back - no hassles /no extra charges! Awesome Place for Haircuts & Dog sitting. Great customer service. You could tell they love pets. I always leave my dogs with Luz or her son Gio when I have to go on a long trip. Even of they're last minute trips they always accommodate my crazy schedule. What's even nicer is that my dogs get a complementary shower and hair dry when they arrive AND when I pick him up. Today I took my 7-month, 3/12 pound teacup old yorkie there for his first visit with a groomer. He took to Giovanni (the groomer) right away, and Giovanni is a genius. His cut was so perfect. This groomer went above a beyond. He was totally booked but this squeezed me in on the same day and stayed late to finish my puppy. He is amazing and my puppy looks great. My puppy was also very calm when I got him back, no trauma since they took such great care of him. I will be using their boarding services too, since they are so great (they board small dogs only). This will be the ONLY groomer I take my baby too! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! read more

I used to use this groomer. Decent prices close to home. It's been a couple of years but after two incidents I haven't been back. The first incident, they called me to tell me my dog was severely matted and I would be charged extra and they would have to shave him. I told them that was impossible. Drove to the groomer to see what they were talking about. As they pointed out the flaws in the dog on the table I asked if they didn't think it was weird my dog wasn't excited to see me and the dog in the tub started kicking up a fuss the minute I walked in. Turns out without a collar they mixed up my dog with another who looked the same. I had my vet scan my dog's chip to confirm I was right and wrote it off as they were too busy close to the holiday (just before Thanksgiving or Christmas). Accidents happen. Final incident, I came to pick up my dog and he would only open 1 eye. When asked why and no one could give me a straight answer. I told them I was on the way to the vet and any cost would be theirs. As it turns out they got fur in his eye. eye drops soothed the irritation, but it took a week for him to be back in top form. I never called them back to update them on his condition and no one called me to look into what happened. Lesson learned. read more

Lucy's Dapper Dog is a great place to bring your dogs for grooming. Luz and her family take such good care of the dogs and my dogs actually get excited to go there. Usually my dogs just get bathed, but in the summer one of them gets a cut and he always looks great after it. And every time they go there they come back smelling amazing. Luz's son who works there also does boarding. Your dog can stay with him in the store while you are away. He sleeps there with the dog and they have a yard behind the store for your dog to go out and play. Also the dog will not have to stay in a cage like at a lot of boarding places and your dog will have the company of all the other dogs who come and go for their grooming appointments. read more

I took my cockapoo in there the other day and politely asked if they could avoid cutting her hair like a poodle. When my dad picked the dog up and brought her home she has a puffy head and tail and looked like the definition of a poodle. He told me that they said they did not understand my request (after they said yes) in a thick accent. So I called them up and asked what happened they pretended like they didn't remind my dog and would not fix it. I had the worst experience out of all the grooming places ive ever taking my 5 dogs. Not only one of them came out bad ALL of them. plus i had to take one of them to the vet because of a cut they did which turned into an infection. $700 later. 3 of them had eye infections due to there lack paying attention to them while bathing and soap got into his eye. I am so freaking upset . This is the 3rd time we took my dog here. When I got home , I noticed a few things that went wrong . Everything was SOO choppy around her face . Multiple layers. One ear was cut completely straight across while the other one was properly angled . How does that happen? Imagine your dogs ears looked like that. And, there was longgggg hairs behind her ears that weren't cut . Now, the one thing that really pushed me to write the review was the nails. When I came there I specifically mentioned her nails are sensitive and she's really scared when it comes to that. I saw her nails when I got home and I cried . One nail was completely covered in dry blood and it was kinda purple . It was SOOO short. The other nails were done so carelessly , they were cut on such an angle that they were so sharp. I can't imagine how my baby felt . I am just really upset because we've never had that problem with them and it's obvious that this time they just didn't care. Let me start out by saying my Princy (adorable 6 year old Maltese) has been to the groomers only once before. I bath him and my husband cuts and that has always worked fine plus I've heard horror stories of injured and bleeding dogs but I decided that if I could find a groomer that met my standards I would give the grooming a try since it is next to impossible to cut his nails. So my search began....... and continued.....and continued until I came across Luzy's Dapper Dog and more specifically Giovanni. What a great find. I walked in and the place was very welcoming - nicely painted and arranged and more importantly did not smell like "dog" which to me means its clean. I spoke to Giovanni and he reassured me that everything would be fine, asked how I would like him groomed and gently took him out of my arms and said don't worry. 3 hours later to my delight and joy, Giovanni brings out my adorable, well groomed, smelling good Princy! I was highly pleased and so was Princy! You can tell that Giovanni is a true dog lover because we spent about 20 minutes talking about his dog that had just recently passed away.
