She told me to call Sephora customer care to get help. I called 3 times trying to get help, only to find out the 3rd time calling that someone had fraudulently used the gift card for an online order (not me). Idk if the cashiers are in on this fraud with gift cards but apparently this is a common way they get you. The outcome recommend by client care was to reach out to the person who purchased the gift card I received as a gift to have them report it on fraud (if purchased with a credit/debit card) but other than that if it was purchased with cash there's nothing they can do. End of story I was not able to use my birthday gift card at all. BS
