So after doing research discovered that sugaring is being used at some places instead of waxing. Found several places in Columbia that uses sugaring but couldn't get an appt so ended up going here. Place: located in the Vista. Easy to find, metered parking. The inside is very well laid out and decorated. A nails technician works there too. They perform other things besides sugaring. Mabel: she was the lady that gave me my sugaring. She made the experience easy enough while being in such a vulnerable and embarrassing position. She stated that she had almost 12 years at what she does. I was hesistant about her application but she reassured me and did not did twice into the sugar. If necessary she used a new glob. She was very professional. Experience: PAINFUL. This was my first experience in such a tender area. I have have my eyebrows threaded and waxed several times but this pain was different. She assured me that new waxers state it is painful the first few times but as you adjust you adapt. I guess this is true b/c i can get my eyebrows done without a muscle twitch. I would fore warn newbies to take 2 pain relievers at least before going like Tylenol or something. During she applied baby powder b/c i was sweating so much. The sugaring felt warm and applied easily. Afterwards i made sure to wash in the store any excess. When she was finished I love the results. It was smooth and soft. Some reddened areas but she applied a special lotion to prevent breaking out. She even went over how to care for the area. The room: was clean and new sheets applied after I was through. All her products looked well care for. The only thing I didn't like was the positioning of the doorway, once she had to answer a call and when she exited I was left exposed when she opened the door. Also, I wish it had thicker walls b/c I could here her and the client before me clearly while I was in the waiting area. At home: the hair didn't return for almost 4 weeks and my skin wasn't irritated at all. I would definitely do it again, with her or a different facility I'm not sure yet. Price: I pay $55 for student discount but the services are pretty pricey.

This one happened to be near where I live so I decided to try it. Long story short, I've been coming here every month faithfully. I'm a part of their rewards program where if you get like 500 points you get a discount and you also get 10% off for your birthday. I've been to a few techs in this salon but I'd have to say my go to is Kelly. She really does what you want and what she knows looks good. She pays attention to detail and makes sure the nails look good. She even did my daughter's nails and they have a kids pedicure station. They are so good with kids and they have complimentary drinks for them and for us (wine, mimosas, sodas, water). It's definitely a place to try.

I did not receive the manicure I requested, and when the fill in was completed, my nails were extremely thick, rough, and scratchy. I prefer medium length, milky white, smooth nails that still allow me to type and handle everyday tasks. Unfortunately, that is not what I received. The skin on my thumb extends past the nail, and the fill in did not fully cover my left thumb or the middle nail on my right hand. Several nails are so thick that picking up small items or putting my earrings back in will be difficult. The young lady who did my pedicure also appeared to be very inexperienced. By the time she finished, I was honestly heartbroken over the entire experience. What made the situation worse was that they attempted to have the same gentleman fix my nails after I had already expressed my dissatisfaction. No thank you. They were clearly aware that I was upset, yet they laughed as I left, which felt disrespectful and unprofessional. I paid for the services without arguing or creating a scene because that is not who I am. However, paying for a service does not mean I should remain silent when the quality is unacceptable. Afterwords I did a body shower changed and enjoyed another tea before leaving. Wow! Just amazing. The ambiance of the whole place what can I say!
