Shop is clean, lots of staff and they can get you in quick even when busy. Visited during parents weekend at USC from out of town, the gentleman who did my pedi was nice enough but cut my cuticles back too far and very pushy on gel pedi. Then when I addressed that the gel polish on my hands looked bubbly to the woman who did my nails, she insisted it was the oil she put at the end of my treatment. Got my service done on 9/12 late in the afternoon, this is what I'm left with 4 days later on 9/16. Called to let them know my experience and received no apology or offer to make it right. read more

Left the salon like this bc of how unprofessional one nail tech was. Asked for one color, he said they didn't go that high, asked for another color, he said if it's not on the swatches we don't have it. So I kindly told him the color on my toes is not on the swatches but I got the color from this nail salon. He got up had an attitude never looked for the color, went to the bathroom came out, and sat in the pedicure chair. The manager said " he couldn't find the color so someone else will do it for you ". Based on the reviews I decided to give Gervais a try and to say I'm disappointed is an understatement. First and foremost, four of my nail beds were cut to the point of blood. I was told I couldn't get almond shape dipped nails due to the length of my natural nail so I settled for the suggested "round/ square" and this is what I got. On top of the awkward shape and none of my nails matching, you can clearly see the clumps of dip powder from every angle. I wish I would've asked to have them taken off immediately but didn't want to sit through my cuts to my cuticles. I will not be recommending to anyone I know. read more

Excellent selection of colors, large space that has multiple manicure and pedicure stations and prices are reasonable but more on the higher sided. Quality is good. Great for groups. Street parking. I was with a party of 6 for bridal nails. We made an appointment and were taken back right when we arrived. The bride received a gift which was a really nice touch. The amount of colors to choose from is incredible, almost overwhelming! They will help you select a color or find a color for you if you know the name. I paid $65 for gel manicure and a pedicure. My nails have held up really well after a week with no lifting. My toes still look great and the polish has not chipped (regular polish). We did a basic pedicure and the massage/exfoliation was minimal but got the job done. Everyone was really friendly and made this day really special. read more

Terrible. Looks nice but it's a terrible service. Not to mention I was able to listen to one of the workers talk about shooting someone in his yard if they don't turn their music down. Like a detailed conversation with a customer about killing someone and how he should get away with it. Pretty sick. And it wasn't that comical conversation. It was the kind where someone is pandering and trying to get on someone's good side by telling them what they THINK they want to here. Not sure if his name because he wasn't my tech but he use to live in Georgia. Probably late 30s or early 40s There no detail. A quick splash in the water, trim and pain. This business is massive inside with a lot of employees so they can service a lot of clients at once . I had a luxury pedicure and a basic manicure. I had Julie (American name) and she was so kind and thorough. My spa jets broke during the pedicure but I didn't request to switch seats. The paraffin foot dip, scrub and massage were nice. Julie took her time and I was there for quiet a while. The color options are endless but I chose 375 traditional polish and it looks great! I had a manicure but just left my hands natural and they look so clean and tidy. I then had my eyebrows waxed and it was way over due. The gentleman did a good job but I had red marks well into the next day so be prepared. It isn't cheap but I was pleased and would come back when I have a lot of time without any commitments. read more

Wendy is the best!! I went when they opened in the morning and was seated for my pedicure right away and was asked if I wanted anything to drink. Each pedicure tub has its own individual covering. I also got a manicure and she did the design exactly how I wanted! She was super nice and the place was very clean. Love getting my nails done here. The salon is always so clean and managed well. They're also pretty much always open 7 days a week. They have complimentary beverages while you get pampered like mimosas, wine, and sodas. Steven does my nails and I would definitely highly recommend making appointments with him. He's always very detailed about his work. When the salon is busy there is a bit of a wait but they make up for it with the nails you leave with. I would always call ahead to see if it's busy if you're a walk in and can't afford to wait but otherwise this is my favorite nail salon by far in Columbia. I can't imagine myself going elsewhere. I've visited Gervais Nails before and had my toes done by Miss Judy! Today, I had the express hair analysis along with a facial from the beautiful Miss Laila, and it was AMAZING! From the energy to the sound therapy, the mimosa, and the massage--everything was perfect! The customer service was FABULOUS, and once again, Miss Laila's beautiful energy was incredible. I was a walk in. You have to wear a mask. They check your temperature at the door with the touchless thermometer. I went for just a regular pedicure and got sold on trying the deluxe and it did not disappoint. The regular pedicure was $40 and the deluxe was $50. I opted for a gel polish, which I love the shine on it. So the total for today was $70. Very happy with how it turned out. I plan to return. They weren't really busy when I went, so one of the guys practiced on his guitar (free concert!) lol. read more

Have given this salon several chances... the manicurist was rushed at my first visit and left polish smeared on my cuticles. I returned a second time, thinking anyone can have a bad day, but the nail service still wasn't good. I pointed out several cuticle areas that needed more tending, and the manicurist rushed through again. I returned again, needing a last-minute mani-pedi. Staff couldn't understand that I wanted clear nails- he kept telling me to pick a color. Finally I just asked for French tips. A "sander' was used to remove my old full set of liquid gel nails, which was uncomfortably hot on the nail bed and left deep scratches that the clear polish doesn't hide. (One was ground too deep into the natural nail and is still sore and weak one week later.) The white tip polish leaked down on the sides of the nails, and was left. My cuticles weren't trimmed and I had to clean off polish once I got home. While staff were friendly, I'm not comfortable returning and am looking for a new salon. read more

I've been getting my nails done here for a year now. After expanding my horizons on trying new places, I would come back here to get my nails done for the prices they offer and if Henry were to do them. I feel bad for forgetting her name but another lady did my nails for Halloween and did a great job and my nails never broke off. Lasted a long time. Everytime I get my nails done here, and I mean everytime, at least 1-2 of my nails break off. While Gervais nails has great customer service, I shouldn't have to come in and get a nail or two fixed and pay for it within two days of getting them done. It's always a hit or miss with Gervais nails, but I kept coming back for their prices and a few people from their staff! They also don't use new nail files and sometimes their products burn, i didn't know this wasn't supposed to happen until I went to another nail place. I went in one day got my nails done and they were $50 and then I tip 20% so the final total was $60. The very next day my roommate goes in and gets similar length shape and a solid color as me and she pays 65$ and then 20% tip so $80. The fact that this business does not share that different people charge different prices is completely unfair. Both of us were walk ins so if I knew that my person was charging me extra money over my friend who got the same thing as me I would be flabbergasted. This business should make this known and tell people before sitting them down. I don't recommend as it is a toss up as to what you will pay. I recommend Jolie over this place. read more

Just wanted to compliment this salon and the people who work there. I was in town visiting for a convention and I stopped in to get a pedicure and a fill. Wish I knew the guys name who took me as a customer because he was the best. I came in in a hurry having to leave for Charleston and he assured me he would have me out as fast as possible. I was greeted with a yummy mimosa too. The amount of care this nail salon gave me to meet my time slot was amazing. My nails look great and the guy drove me back to my hotel because it was close enough by car but would have taken some time to walk back to in a hurry. So glad I didn't listen to these other people who decided to leave bad reviews. The service here is very hit or miss. I definitely don't recommend waxing even if you're trying to do it because you couldn't get an appointment anywhere is. They left burns on my left eyebrow. It healed, but it was very unpleasant at the time. The first and second mani-pedis I got were pretty good, but the third time was a bust. I used to come here all the time and had an amazing experience, but this most recent time i went was unfortunately really disappointing. I got a gel polish on my toes and the person doing my toes simply forgot to put on a top coat and I had to do it myself when I got home with my personal gel kit in hopes of preserving the polish. I told the person I wanted to get dip polish done on my nails but he just walked away and basically ignored me until I spoke to someone else to get seated. When he came back to do my nails, it felt very rushed and the results definitely match being rushed. Absolutely LOVED my experience here. They have a huge selection of nail polishes to choose from. All the nail polishes are new and you are able to tell because they are all laid out! They also have OPI which is extremely long lasting and one of the top nail polish brands. If you don't know what polish you want to go with, the manicurist are very knowledgeable and will recommend a color based on what you tell them you like. I got a gel manicure and I'm extremely impressed. They are very safe and work strictly under CDC protocols - which ensures the safety of their staff and clients. They make sure you're sanitized at the door, have a face mask to wear the entire time, and check your temperature to ensure you don't have a fever. I definitely recommend this place. I am here visiting family and needed a fill for a broken nail. I received a fill with one real complaint. The tech was trying to apply my top gel coat with powder debris left on my nails. Huge no! UPDATE: Two days later ALL of my nails were lifting. A complete first. Never had ails last for such a short time. I go back to the shop to have my nails refilled all was fine until the gentleman was buffing my fingers so rough he pushed so hard on my pinky he lifted my entire nail . It was extremely painful. He didn't re refill the nail he chose to glue my nail back down. No apology, nothing. Never again. read more

First, in their defense, I believe they are new to dip powder service, and they offered a gift card as apology, but it was just so bad I will not return. I asked him to correct the sloppy areas around my cuticles, and as you see he wasn't able to. Blamed it on my nail. My nails have never given other technicians at other salons any problems! I came in with almond/stiletto shape and asked for the same but he cut them too short to do so. Just disappointed. Again, I appreciate the offer for a gift card but if they can't fix the problem first, what would make me want to come back? Also there were no color samples for the dip powder, which makes it hard to choose. Hopefully over time corrective action will take place, because the previous reviews were mostly great. Now that I've had time to come down from the Omega level panic attack my visit gave me, I think I'm ready to write about my horrible experience. I just spent two hours filing off as much polish as I could because I hate how it reminds me of my experience tonight. I came with my wife for a manicure and a pedicure. After being seated I picked out colors for my nails at the same time my wife did. The CSR actually brought the colors over and sat them beside us. Since I didn't get my toes painted (not that i was even given a choice) they asked me to wait so we could go to get our manicures together. Then when we are taken to our seats my wife is seated and a tech immediately starts her nails. I meanwhile sat waiting for a few minutes untilI I realized I'd been forgotten. Upon explaining that I was supposed to have a manicure as well the tech proceeds to attempt to do it with just clear polish. I have to correct them again. Finally they actually paint my nails and manicure them and they look like crap. Both me and my wife thought that our nails were rushed. I had multiple fingers with paint on my skin and lopsided paint on others. The shade I picked for my thumb wasn't what I really wanted but I was given no options nor do I know if it's ok to just ask for it to be redone. I know not the customs of this establishment. This is my first time! After leaving we realized that we were both unhappy with the service and attempted to come back to speak with the staff. I was already having the beginnings of a panic attack. I have social anxiety and the thought of confronting a clerk in a store about something simple terrifies me. Especially if I feel some type of way about the service as I also suffer from impulse control issues. While explaining to the CSR our issue the tech that did my nails came over and began asking if she could fix or something. I felt very pressured as she was very close and touching my wife. I agreed to let her fix my nails but then she asked again if she could fix them. I agreed multiple times until I got frustrated and responded louder. "Yes! ok! let's do it!" At this point the entire store proceeds to berate me. One person going so far as to insinuate that I was being mean to the tech because she was a woman. At this point I asked just give me my money back or whatever they were going to do and let me get out of there. I did not want to be there because I was upset and trying not to lose it and yell back at the rest of the store. I did and I signed the papers and contained myself till I left. Then I let the store know where they could put their input. This is by far the worst consumer experience I have ever had in my life time. I am taking the time to write all this to warn you. If you're looking for a relaxing experience this is definitely not the place. If you wanna be processed like a widget by close minded people, Its the place for you! PS Just writing this made me have another panic attack. I wasted my entire night. read more
