Shop is clean, lots of staff and they can get you in quick even when busy. Visited during parents weekend at USC from out of town, the gentleman who did my pedi was nice enough but cut my cuticles back too far and very pushy on gel pedi. Then when I addressed that the gel polish on my hands looked bubbly to the woman who did my nails, she insisted it was the oil she put at the end of my treatment. Got my service done on 9/12 late in the afternoon, this is what I'm left with 4 days later on 9/16. Called to let them know my experience and received no apology or offer to make it right.
Left the salon like this bc of how unprofessional one nail tech was. Asked for one color, he said they didn't go that high, asked for another color, he said if it's not on the swatches we don't have it. So I kindly told him the color on my toes is not on the swatches but I got the color from this nail salon. He got up had an attitude never looked for the color, went to the bathroom came out, and sat in the pedicure chair. The manager said " he couldn't find the color so someone else will do it for you ". Yeah no thank you. I was sitting like this for almost 10 minutes.
Based on the reviews I decided to give Gervais a try and to say I'm disappointed is an understatement. First and foremost, four of my nail beds were cut to the point of blood. I was told I couldn't get almond shape dipped nails due to the length of my natural nail so I settled for the suggested "round/ square" and this is what I got. On top of the awkward shape and none of my nails matching, you can clearly see the clumps of dip powder from every angle. I wish I would've asked to have them taken off immediately but didn't want to sit through my cuts to my cuticles. I will not be recommending to anyone I know.
BEST place in columbia. Super friendly and very reasonable pricing. Paid $55 for full set with gel and $70 for a very good pedicure with all the fixins. They have drinks and all. Very clean and friendly service.
Excellent selection of colors, large space that has multiple manicure and pedicure stations and prices are reasonable but more on the higher sided. Quality is good. Great for groups. Street parking. I was with a party of 6 for bridal nails. We made an appointment and were taken back right when we arrived. The bride received a gift which was a really nice touch. The amount of colors to choose from is incredible, almost overwhelming! They will help you select a color or find a color for you if you know the name. I paid $65 for gel manicure and a pedicure. My nails have held up really well after a week with no lifting. My toes still look great and the polish has not chipped (regular polish). We did a basic pedicure and the massage/exfoliation was minimal but got the job done. Everyone was really friendly and made this day really special.
Terrible. Looks nice but it's a terrible service. Not to mention I was able to listen to one of the workers talk about shooting someone in his yard if they don't turn their music down. Like a detailed conversation with a customer about killing someone and how he should get away with it. Pretty sick. And it wasn't that comical conversation. It was the kind where someone is pandering and trying to get on someone's good side by telling them what they THINK they want to here. Not sure if his name because he wasn't my tech but he use to live in Georgia. Probably late 30s or early 40s There no detail. A quick splash in the water, trim and pain. I paid for callous removal, which was non existent. I've had better and will stick to my salons back home. Won't be back
This business is massive inside with a lot of employees so they can service a lot of clients at once . I had a luxury pedicure and a basic manicure. I had Julie (American name) and she was so kind and thorough. My spa jets broke during the pedicure but I didn't request to switch seats. The paraffin foot dip, scrub and massage were nice. Julie took her time and I was there for quiet a while. The color options are endless but I chose 375 traditional polish and it looks great! I had a manicure but just left my hands natural and they look so clean and tidy. I then had my eyebrows waxed and it was way over due. The gentleman did a good job but I had red marks well into the next day so be prepared. It isn't cheap but I was pleased and would come back when I have a lot of time without any commitments.
Love getting my nails done here. The salon is always so clean and managed well. They're also pretty much always open 7 days a week. They have complimentary beverages while you get pampered like mimosas, wine, and sodas. Steven does my nails and I would definitely highly recommend making appointments with him. He's always very detailed about his work. When the salon is busy there is a bit of a wait but they make up for it with the nails you leave with. I would always call ahead to see if it's busy if you're a walk in and can't afford to wait but otherwise this is my favorite nail salon by far in Columbia. I can't imagine myself going elsewhere. THEY HAVE GLOW IN THE DARK SNS DIP LIKE WHAT. They have chrome, cat eye, mood changing gel as well.
Wendy is the best!! I went when they opened in the morning and was seated for my pedicure right away and was asked if I wanted anything to drink. Each pedicure tub has its own individual covering. I also got a manicure and she did the design exactly how I wanted! She was super nice and the place was very clean. There's a 10% student discount and they even gave me a gift on my way out!!
I was a walk in. You have to wear a mask. They check your temperature at the door with the touchless thermometer. I went for just a regular pedicure and got sold on trying the deluxe and it did not disappoint. The regular pedicure was $40 and the deluxe was $50. I opted for a gel polish, which I love the shine on it. So the total for today was $70. Very happy with how it turned out. I plan to return. They weren't really busy when I went, so one of the guys practiced on his guitar (free concert!) lol.
ANYONE BUT KAYLA!! I've been going here for half a year and it's always really awesome! Nails have been looking great. JUST DONT GET KAYLA!! I've gotten her twice and each time it's the worst nail job I've ever gotten. Made me bleed 4 times, nail paint uneven, and a terrible filing job. I had dip before I came in and when and asked for dip again, all she did was take the very top later of dip off and slap on some gel paint on top...still had to pay for dip price...I think it's time to look for a new place. Don't get me wrong, literally everyone else there is amazing and does the best job, but all it takes is one bad egg...
Have given this salon several chances... the manicurist was rushed at my first visit and left polish smeared on my cuticles. I returned a second time, thinking anyone can have a bad day, but the nail service still wasn't good. I pointed out several cuticle areas that needed more tending, and the manicurist rushed through again. I returned again, needing a last-minute mani-pedi. Staff couldn't understand that I wanted clear nails- he kept telling me to pick a color. Finally I just asked for French tips. A "sander' was used to remove my old full set of liquid gel nails, which was uncomfortably hot on the nail bed and left deep scratches that the clear polish doesn't hide. (One was ground too deep into the natural nail and is still sore and weak one week later.) The white tip polish leaked down on the sides of the nails, and was left. My cuticles weren't trimmed and I had to clean off polish once I got home. While staff were friendly, I'm not comfortable returning and am looking for a new salon.

I've been getting my nails done here for a year now. After expanding my horizons on trying new places, I would come back here to get my nails done for the prices they offer and if Henry were to do them. I feel bad for forgetting her name but another lady did my nails for Halloween and did a great job and my nails never broke off. Lasted a long time. Everytime I get my nails done here, and I mean everytime, at least 1-2 of my nails break off. While Gervais nails has great customer service, I shouldn't have to come in and get a nail or two fixed and pay for it within two days of getting them done. It's always a hit or miss with Gervais nails, but I kept coming back for their prices and a few people from their staff! They also don't use new nail files and sometimes their products burn, i didn't know this wasn't supposed to happen until I went to another nail place. All in all, it's up to you whether you want to take a chance on this place because it really is a hit or a miss!PS- don't ever get your eyebrows waxed here! read more

Pros: complimentary mimosas, fast service, attentive to each treatment I needed. Massage felt great. Alot of spa chairs. No wait time. Good paint job. Cons: The staff, including my technician, was laughing the entire time and speaking in another language. I wasn't sure if they were talking about me. Not the best experience for my first time living here. Basic pedicure should be $25. Gel polish should be $15. Towels and stones were too hot. read more

The experience and customer service was nice, but the quality of the gel polish was terrible. My polish chipped the next day. The square shape was not what I'm used to. It almost looked like somewhere in between a square and a coffin. Update: I peeled the gel off because I was tired of it chipping and my acrylic is lifting at the bottom (where I just got my fill in). I'd never go back read more

Just wanted to compliment this salon and the people who work there. I was in town visiting for a convention and I stopped in to get a pedicure and a fill. Wish I knew the guys name who took me as a customer because he was the best. I came in in a hurry having to leave for Charleston and he assured me he would have me out as fast as possible. I was greeted with a yummy mimosa too. The amount of care this nail salon gave me to meet my time slot was amazing. My nails look great and the guy drove me back to my hotel because it was close enough by car but would have taken some time to walk back to in a hurry. So glad I didn't listen to these other people who decided to leave bad reviews. I will be back to this salon next time I am in town and I recommend this salon to anyone who is looking for a job well done along with great customer service!!! Thank you!! Look at how great my nails turned out!! I love them!! read more

Diana did a great job on my nails! I requested a dip French manicure and she applied the base with a brush (which I've never seen done but really liked it) and then added the white polish towards the end. My sister got her nails done a day before at a different place but she wants to go with me next month to Gervais. Also- the woman working asked us if we wanted anything to drink- a small gesture goes a long way. We'll be back! Thank you so much! read more

This is THE WORST manicure I have ever had in my life. It's gel. Supposedly shellac. An older man did my manicure and his hands were kind of shaky. It's not worth going tbh. I also asked for a more circular shape. Horrible. I also saw the girl next to me and her nails didn't look much better. read more

Absolutely LOVED my experience here. They have a huge selection of nail polishes to choose from. All the nail polishes are new and you are able to tell because they are all laid out! They also have OPI which is extremely long lasting and one of the top nail polish brands. If you don't know what polish you want to go with, the manicurist are very knowledgeable and will recommend a color based on what you tell them you like. I got a gel manicure and I'm extremely impressed. They are very safe and work strictly under CDC protocols - which ensures the safety of their staff and clients. They make sure you're sanitized at the door, have a face mask to wear the entire time, and check your temperature to ensure you don't have a fever. I definitely recommend this place. The prices are great as well! read more

This place is my go to for my nail needs. The staff is friendly and always make sure my needs are fulfilled. I never go home disappointed! I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone who needs a fairly priced nail salon with excellent service. They also have an abundance of colors to choose from in powder, gel and regular polish! read more

I love this nail salon!!! I would defiantly recommend it to anyone that is near the area! I was instantly greeted and offered a drink as I walked into the door. The receptionist was very kind to me in choosing my colors. My nail tech, Steven, did an excellent job fulfilling my nail dreams! He was able to replicate the photo that showed him to how I liked it. Steven made sure I was okay with everything that he was doing to my nails. The customer service is great and the quality of nail service is great!! 10/10 would recommend! I LOVE MY NAILS!! read more

First, in their defense, I believe they are new to dip powder service, and they offered a gift card as apology, but it was just so bad I will not return. I asked him to correct the sloppy areas around my cuticles, and as you see he wasn't able to. Blamed it on my nail. My nails have never given other technicians at other salons any problems! I came in with almond/stiletto shape and asked for the same but he cut them too short to do so. Just disappointed. Again, I appreciate the offer for a gift card but if they can't fix the problem first, what would make me want to come back? Also there were no color samples for the dip powder, which makes it hard to choose. Hopefully over time corrective action will take place, because the previous reviews were mostly great. The salon was beautiful and clean. read more
