Just want to give a humongous shout out to Strongmen Waterproofing. You ever get tired of living in…read morea boat when you purchased a house? Well, that's pretty much what I've been experiencing in my home for years after heavy rainfall. Water would leak in my basement from many areas, putting a lot of strain on my tiny sump pump, wetting pretty much everything in sight and leaving that section of the basement difficult to utilize. The Strongmen Waterproofers work very well together, are extremely focused and knowledgeable in their trade (it's evident), attentive to detail, explain the process and products used in the installation of a perimeter drain system. Every worker on this project was punctual (as a matter of fact arrived early), personable, and introduced themselves to me before proceeding to the basement to start work. There wasn't as much noise as I was anticipating with the installation of the perimeter drain; the workers were extremely neat and conscientious about working around my property. My project was projected to take 3 days, it actually took one day and a half. It was very thoughtful of one of the workers to return to my home on a Sunday just to reconnect the washer and dryer that was disconnected and moved during the perimeter drain installation. Another instance, the owner was observed picking up small pieces of debris left in the yard, but because of the size of the debris, and the workers were so neat, it was not necessary. The outside portion of the project went just as smoothly as the inside. The grass was returned to the same trenched place it was removed. From start to finish this project went on like clockwork, the workers didn't even stop for lunch; I hope they had a big breakfast. Strongmen Waterproofing also removes and disposes of junk, which I had my share. I highly recommend Strongmen Waterproofing as their fees are reasonable, they get the job done efficiently, timely, neatly, and it's evident they enjoy what they're doing. My last words: Let it RAIN!

All worked well for 2 years, then trouble started.I had water in my basement coming from the well, called someone came the next morning,he pulled the pump out and said it was the pump I will be back or someone will call you. I've called 2 to 3 times a day and left messages to return my call, I'ts been 8 days now and no one has called me from this company. There is a 3 year warranty on this pump, and a lifetime warranty on the job itself. As I said satisfaction with the job in beginning but not now, there is no reason that they don't call me back. Jerry brings top notch service…read more My condo building had some water leaks in the basement, so we needed to waterproof the basement. Originally, I thought patching the inside of the basement would suffice. I found Complete Paving & Masonry on Yelp, and reached out; Jerry responded very quickly and was able to come by to provide a visual inspection and a quote. He recommended that work needs to be done on the outside in order to fix the inside. We took a walk around the outside and he provided points of what work needed to be done. Essentially, he recommended to dig up the dirt around the foundation; patch and seal the foundation; put in some gravel and then cover it up with dirt. This would help prevent water from leaking through the foundation into the basement/garage. After conversing with my fellow condo neighbor, we hired Jerry's team to do the work. Within a week, they were able to come on site and start the work. It took them 4 days to do the work (original quote was 3-5 days). Jerry and his team did a magnificent job. They went above and beyond the original estimate's work at no extra charge to improve the water flow surrounding the condo. They also did some additional patch work on the outside of the condo. When the job was completed, Jerry walked me through everything his team did and why it was done, so I was able to understand the reason for the work. Jerry is friendly, honest, and provides top notch service. I highly recommend his team for any mason work.

I explained that it was a fieldstone foundation and the guy I spoke with said "no problem." The gentleman showed up when he said he would, which was great that I didn't have to waster 2 hours in traffic for nothing. However, the oddness ensued quickly. Every time I showed him a part of the basement, he'd say "Great. I'll take a look and find you if I have any questions" but his "inspections" would only take 2 minutes. So, we'd walk to the next part of the basement, he'd say he'd let me know when he was done, then I'd wait a minute or two and then proceed to the next section. (I swear I'm not making this up.) It was really odd. After his inspection, I said "what do you think?" He said they don't really do much with fieldstone foundations (which would have been very beneficial to tell me over the phone) but that he was going to talk with his boss and that I shouldn't worry because they wouldn't "leave me high and dry" (no pun intended.) He then excused himself once again to call someone and then a few minutes later comes back to tell me there isn't really anything they can do and we should contact someone who specializes in fieldstone foundation repair and then leaves. I don't know how long I scratched my head after that encounter. Drycrete might be a magnificent company to do business with and their work might be first rate but, from my single encounter with them, I was not remotely impressed and it was a grand waste of my time.

All the bricks were pulled up and the highest standards used to reset and set brick. A cement curbing under the brick not only secured brick but provided a means for directing run off water. See the before pictures for the chimney, I don't have one handy for the steps, but the mortar was missing from between a lot of the bricks, and the limestone slabs were wobbly and not adhered to the step anymore. Chris responded to the request quickly and came out for an assessment, providing estimates both for a repair and a full rebuild of the front steps, and a repair of the chimney. Both very reasonable and in line with estimates from other businesses. We spoke last Friday, Chris had the formal contracts to me by Sunday, and the team was here first thing Tuesday morning working on the steps. They worked quickly but thoroughly, and were on to the work on the chimney by mid-day Wednesday. Once they were up there, they noticed some issues that weren't visible from the ground view, and Chris walked me through it with the photos and quickly got a revised estimate for what it would look like to do a rebuild of the chimney versus the repair, while also indicating that they COULD still do just the repair, but recommended rebuilding, since he knew we'd be looking to also redo the roof soon. They managed to do the full take down of the chimney to just a few bricks below the roof line and rebuild it back up by the end of the day Thursday, and came back Friday just to install the rain cap and clean up the the materials from the demolished chimney and stairs. Our new steps and chimney look great, and I'll definitely be keeping Kings' contact on file for paving/masonry/foundation work we might need in the future!

They pressure you to sign a contract for the work and the work is subpar. It does not meet code or professional workmanship. They sat in my house for couple of hours until i signed despite the fact that i told them i had to check with my attorney and would let them know in the morning. They refused to leave. I should have called the police right then and there. I did contact the police later that week when i saw the results of the job. I also checked with city hall to see if they had pulled a permit as I was told by them that they had the inspector coming next week. This was after they finished the job and wanted payment. Lo and behold city hall said no permit was pulled and no inspection was ordered. Their names are Freddie and Matthew. The work was done by 2 gentlemen who do not speak English. I will be taking legal action on this matter to recoup what i paid since I have to have all the work completely redone and it has comprised the integrity of our 4 season room. I also just recently lost my husband and they preyed on that. Unfortunately, i was scammed. I repeat, do not use them.

We live at the top of a hill, and we've all heard water runs downhill so we shouldn't have a leaky…read morebasement problem, right? Ha! After watching the (ground level) window well in my front yard fill entirely with water one incredibly rainy day about three years ago when I happened to be in the "cellar," and then let go with all of the water seeping around the frame and down my wall... well I finally understood that damp & musty smell my basement always had. Btw, the spot is not directly under the window but off to the side which is why I always thought water was seeping in through the foundation on the side wall where the stain mostly is (water does move downhill haha). Pioneer Basement responded quickly, gave me several options and quotes, and made financing easy. We decided about two years ago to waterproof only part of the basement since that's the area that is usually damp. We also went with the thermal vapor wrap on that part of the wall, and added the dehumidifier which was optional but recommended. Completely solved our problem - and ended the musty scary haunted basement stink entirely. Fast forward to now. I'm again randomly in the basement (for an internet wiring issue) and notice the absolute faintest but-still-I'm-not-imagining-it damp smell. Yup, after another of the crazy rains we've had this year, and... not at a wall but once again about a foot away from another ground level basement window, a small puddle. Of course, it's at a spot without the drain, sump pump, vapor wrap we'd invested in for part of the basement. Once again, Pioneer Basement sent an estimator over within a day or two - polite, knowledgeable, and quick to deliver multiple quotes (finish the full perimeter, do a smaller portion, consider adding window enclosures to tie into the drainage system...) and financing options. This is a company that delivers a high quality critical product, with a great warranty, at a fair and equitable price. They offer exceptional customer service. Your basement will thank you for having them do your waterproofing. And you'll never need to be scared of opening that cellar door again.

During the free estimate, the president agreed to add a 3-way valve to the exhaust line outside the…read morehouse and said he'd do the favor of patching a few 3"x3" holes in my foundation wall. The valve wasn't installed, and the holes weren't patched. When I asked why, he said it wasn't in the written quote, and instead of adding it where we'd discussed, he offered to draw up a new design: a valve on the installed line inside the house, plus an entirely new pipe run to the outside. A small addition became a new project, which felt like an upsell rather than honoring what he'd agreed to. The scheduling coordinator didn't call the day before to notify me that they had to reschedule the install, so I took an unnecessary day off work. The installation had problems: the new concrete around the pump and overflow ports aren't level. When they were drilling the hole in my wall for the exhaust pipe, I watched the drill bit break through the bottom 1/4" of a siding board and a 6-inch chip flew off. They glued it back on with caulk, but it wasn't flush. From the basement, I confirmed that there was room to drill the hole cleanly through another board without chipping it. Measuring from the top of the foundation wall would have shown them that, but it looks like they didn't. A manager did a walk-through afterward but didn't inspect the work itself, only photographing the working shut-off system and the exhaust hole from inside. In fairness, the pump works and the exhaust pipe doesn't leak. But the unkept promises, communication failures, and missed details are why I can't recommend them.
