I've been charged double for an appointment cancellation in which I rescheduled, came back, and arrived the next day waiting outside in the cold. Which, no one ever came and I had to find another stylist to do my hair. This place could definitely be something if the management/owner stepped up the customer service and repertoire. It really feels like the stylists here do hair when they 'want' to and 'when' they want to. There have been several other incidents where I've arrived to the salon an hour faster than the stylist. I understand that things happen, but the stylists could definitely do better. *UPDATE* To Kay - My 'new stylist' was out of town, so I thought that I would give you guys another try. I never harbor any ill intentions against those who have provided decent hair care services in the past. Nonetheless after this second chance, the sew in that I received was very disappointing. You used the cheapest hair you could find. You know this. The hair shedded everywhere and tangled up almost instantly. I took care of my hair with due diligence and used no product. Even after wrapping my hair up at night in a silk scarf, the hair still managed to fuse and mat. I lost $500. Also, I am sickened by your rebuttal to my last review regarding the cancellation policy. I paid the cancellation fee and that was settled. Also, For your information, the extra 'guest' that I had bought into the salon was my father - who - I had strongly urged him to come to your salon. Which from reading your rebuttal, you apparently have no respect for your clients whilst letting weed-smoking homies and your own family members into the salon. To those who are thinking about getting any services here: SAVE YOURSELF THE STRESS & MONEY AND AVOID THIS RATCHET SALON.

Then he tried to fix it and ended up streaking my hair instead of highlighting it. I brought in clip in extensions and he couldn't color them so he called them crap. I took them home and did them myself easily. Turns out he doesn't have an actual beautician license for the state of IL. The salon itself is very nice and the owner is really sweet which is why it's not getting only one star, however if you don't do due diligence on your employees, how reputable can you be? Give it a shot just don't get your hair done by him.

I booked my appointment about a month out and appreciated receiving a confirmation text. Sometimes I get worried when I book things so far an advance, but Semeka even sent me a reminder day of and was able to move my appointment time up. The salon itself is beautiful and pretty spacious. Very convenience location from the red line transportation. Having got my eye lashes done before I was sort of dreading laying there for an hour, but she played such good music I was almost able to fall asleep. I like that she did one eye at a time versus having both eyes taped and going back and forth between lash applications. Somehow that made a big difference in my comfort. (I'm a contact wearer) I love the results! Not too long that they look fake, but they do make a huge difference. I have very large eyes and you have to use a longer length in order to make them really stand out. As a side note something I will probably need to take up with Groupon, but she said that the deal where you get one full set of mink lashes and a follow up 4 week appointment is not correct. The follow up appointment is more so a filler appointment, but after four weeks you'll probably only have two lashes left and require a new set (which she is willing to charge a discount on). A little bit of sneaky advertising, but she said that Groupon would not fix it, so she opted to remove her groupon completely. We worked out something, but for others just a heads up! :)

Just take about any line and hop off at the Washington Street stop. You can park here, since there are garages all over the place and there's street parking I'd you're lucky. Right outside the building on Wabash there's Macy's valet and another valet across the street directly in front of the Garland building. I love that it's so close to my workplace so I may have to pop in for a bit if style help on my lunch break!

Since I have been trying places but was either - no way or I will give them another try and was always disappointed. Everything was perfect with Laura - color, cut, service, hospitality and price. When you make your appointment, you receive a text to confirm your appt and about 1-2 days prior to your appt, you receive another reminder text. I also loved that when I arrived for my appointment, we started right on time. The #1 issue I have at some salons is waiting around all day because we all have busy lives and I cannot stand sitting in a salon for hours on end, especially due to overbooking. Brandi was very personable, friendly, and took the time to explain certain procedures to me. The price point of provided services are comparable to other salons.
