Okay, out-of-town visitors, this may be the most affordable option for transportation between the…read moreairport and downtown Toronto, if you PLAN AHEAD. Many of the guide-books (on-line and in print) will say that the most efficient method of getting into Toronto is by Taxi or Limo. Well, that is true. Yet, the least costly method will be to use Pacific Western's Airport Express. You can either pre-arrange your ride on-line or if you are at the airport: Terminal 1- AE Customer Service is located on the Arrivals Level Curbside Post C. Bus departs from Posts B and E. Terminal 3 - AE Customer Service is located on the Arrivals Level Curbside at Area # 25 The cost for 1 way ticket is $CAD 19.95 and round-trip is $CAD 32.95. This is compared to a cab/limo ride which can range from $CAD 45-55 ONE WAY! The downside to this service: 1) there are multiple stops, 2) these stops may or may not be close to your lodging so it may take some pre-planning or use of other public transport between lodging and the pick up/drop off location. and 3) you must really allow quite a bit of time to allow for downtown traffic and any traffic accidents, which may delay pick up and drop off times. This weekend, it took me 1 hour and 45 minutes to get from my pick up point to the airport. I had allotted only 2 hours and 15 minutes for travel, which was tight because of a traffic accident which had thrown all of the airport express buses off schedule. It almost caused me to miss my flight, as a result (flight from Toronto to USA) b/c I had to go through check-in of luggage and customs. Just to be safe, I would recommend allocating at least 3.5 to 4 hours for travel time to the airport to factor in potential bus issues.

I do appreciate that this station has multiple access points across campus, especially since has one close to the Seneca Polytechnic buildings as well. It's roomy and has elevators and escalators in addition to stairs to the train platform. There are numerous machines to load your Presto card. There are a decent number of gates, but it's a real piss when they malfunction. Last it happened to me, I approached a second time and was let through; and yet, when I boarded my bus at VMC station, I was charged $4.00 instead of the $3.30 I should have had deducted at York University station. Never had problems like this with tokens. I don't use the subway a lot, but my taxes went into thus system, and I'm not overly impressed. Could be worse, I guess. Ans since it's the only one we've got, yes, I'll be using it again.

The station is smack in the middle of the Common area. There are north and south entrances. It's perfect. I like the whole look of the station from afar. The two entrances look futuristic with UFO-like roofs. They are attached by a wavy section. I just love everything about it. It's pleasing to my eyes. I didn't need to take the subway anywhere that night. I may try it sometime. Parking after 6 pm on campus at the York Lanes lot on weekdays is $8 and is good till 6 am the following day. It's not bad to take a break driving downtown by simply parking here and taking the subway. (128)

This review is for the new Union Go Bus Terminal Hub…read more Bring back the old station!!! The new station is large and modern, capable of accommodating more people, but those are the only benefits. Aside from being a confusing maze with buses now on 2 levels, it has automatic doors in front of each bus that open only when the bus is there. At least, thats what its supposed to do. I usually take the Go train, but due to covid, the train has stopped its service and has now become a bus. I've taken this new bus route a few times already. Today, I arrived to the bus 2 minutes early and the automatic door was CLOSED. I was jumping up and down, trying to make eye contact with the bus driver on the other side. 1 person the bus stared right at me, as well as one employee on my side. No one said anything to the bus driver or me. 2 minutes went by and the bus drove away without me. this would not have happened at the old station, where there is no door between the bus and the passenger. Now I have to waste an extra hour of my life for the next bus. I plan to use this hour to warn others about this station and make my complaints. I regret not yelling and banging on the door like most other Torontonians.

Chairs are a little uncomfortable as they are metal.

Since the opening of this station and the York University subway station, buses are no longer allowed on campus. Buses stop right here instead and students have to take the subway to campus. That's an extra 3.25 per commute just for 2 stops. You might be thinking "sounds like a YorkU problem!" But let's keep it real here it was probably mutual. On the bright side the campus is no longer crowded with buses and line-ups. Though the commute is a hassle now for GO riders.

They've been slowly upgrading their bus/streetcar/subway trains to more efficient, spacious and even more accommodating for passengers. The new vehicles are certainly an improvement compared to the past. If you need to get somewhere in Toronto, odds are you'll be able to get there via TTC. The service is passable and individual employees are friendly enough, but I still feel there are a lot of inefficiencies in the way it is run, which has to do with management. Constant price increases never seem to be enough as the TTC always seems to run a budget deficit. Pros: Accessibility to a lot of streets in Toronto (coverage-wise) Service comes relatively quickly Navigation can be aided by a GPS-tracking app that updates in real time Runs all day and on weekends Relatively inexpensive pricing Cons: Constant price increases with little to no service improvements Delays on TTC subway lines are frequent during rush hour Lack of adherence to the stated bus schedules make planning a bit difficult (although the aforementioned app above does mitigate this con somewhat) Overall I would rate the experience as average. It gets you from point A to B, and that's all you can really ask for from a transit system.
