It I have called multiple times over the last three weeks and neither the owner or the manager have returned my call or refunded the unauthorized charge which occurred after I cancelled my membership. Do not trust Spavia with your debit card information. The owner is constantly out of town and is uninterested in resolving customer issues despite the fact that I've been a customer for many years.

Rather than acknowledging the mistake, she dismissed my pain and failed to provide any real assistance. This is not just about a bad wax--it's about negligence and lack of proper training, especially when working on darker-skinned clients. If you are a Black woman or have sensitive skin, please be careful--this location does not seem to have proper knowledge of how to wax safely on different skin types. At minimum, their technicians need to be retrained to recognize the difference between hair and skin so that they do not cause avoidable injuries to clients. I have since filed a dispute with my credit card company, as I should not have to pay for a service that resulted in bodily harm. I do not recommend this location, and I strongly encourage others to think twice before booking here.

When I went to get my nails done, he first filed down all the color which made my nails burn. So I told him I'd rather dip it in acetone to about filing down my nails. He didn't argue and dipped my nails in acetone. Then when the gel was off. He asked if I wanted manicure, I said sure. He started yanking on my cuticles instead of slowly snipping them off. My cuticles looked worse. I let it go. So then he started putting the color on. I told him he may need a new polish, since he kept getting little debris on my nails. The nail polish bottle he used was old and had a lot of debris inside it. He continued using the same bottle and finished my nails. This is the aftermath. My nails don't look pretty. I am actually going to get a cuticle set and clean up the edges myself and file down the sides. They are friendly. But not as good.

My stylist was Kara F., whom I'd never met before. She did all the things that I'd wanted past stylists to do, but had never gotten: she was genuine. Genuinely friendly, genuinely interested what I told her I wanted from the change (versatility, the style itself, shorter styling times, did I mention versatility?), genuinely dedicated to providing a quality cut and practical advice, genuinely willing to take the time to render the cut and a REAL styling lesson (NOT the usual handful of offhand comments while the stylist blows through their salon magic), and genuinely skilled. She insisted we talk about what I wanted for longer than the three minutes of cursory half-attention that most stylists give (and actually listening!), looking at the pictures I'd gathered, and addressing my concerns regarding the new style. She took pains to make sure I understood what products she was using and why, as well as what steps it took to achieve my salon results at home with a minimum of product and time commitment on my part. My simple haircut-only appointment was an hour before close, and they were closed well before I left. I didn't realize that until I got home, as I was in no way rushed out the door. The experience was so relaxed (in a tension-free way, not a sleepy way), informative, and lively that I had lost track of the time. I'd been worried about whether the new style would work with my fine, damaged hair texture, as well as it being shorter than I was used to, but it looks PHENOMENAL. Also, I bought some product (20% off for new customers!), but I believe the cut itself was only $35 or so!
