I recently moved to Richmond. Before I moved, my friend (a lash specialist) had done my lashes a couple of times. I really loved having her do my lashes, but the distance made it necessary for me to find someone in the area to do my lashes if I wanted to continue having them done. I used Yelp to find luxe lashes. I booked an appointment with Anastasia. My first two times at luxe were a great experience, had no issues with the lashes. The third appointment was on Dec 23rd. It honestly seemed sorta short, I was wondering how my lashes were done so quickly. Well by the morning of Christmas, I realized all of my lashes were coming out. It was crazy- they were literally falling out in clumps in the middle of me talking to my patients! Which was sorta embarrassing. By the next morning they were almost completely gone, only the amount I had before the fill was left. I called luxe to ask what could be done. I was offered a free appointment for my lashes to get redone. I was leaving the area that day, and wouldn't be back until after the holidays, which was the whole reason I got my lashes done. After that I was scheduled for two months of 80hr work wks so I really didn't need lashes for that. Explained my situation and asked for a refund. By this point, it was clear no wanted to remedy my situation. I had to keep calling. Eventually I got in touch with the owner. Our whole convo I felt that she was accusing me of being the reason the lashes fell out (i.e. asking me if I showered or cried). However at the end of the convo she said she would refund me. The next day I was back home for the holidays. My friend looked at my lashes and said they had fallen out because they were placed way too far out on my lashes, and not enough glue was used. She removed the few left for me .... It's been over two weeks since then. I've called 2-3x to ask where my refund is. Refunds don't take over two weeks. I still feel like I'm being blamed for a bad lash job, and I feel that luxe cares more about money than making sure they do a good job. read more

*For Stony Point Location* I am so disappointed in this studio. I love getting lash lifts, and did my homework and decided to give Luxe Lashes a chance. I scheduled an appointment with Gabriella Long. When I arrived, there wasn't a nice greeting (which was fine). As she got me set up, I let her know how excited I was to get my lash lift, and she told me that I had long lashes and the lift will look great (I have long but very straight lashes). After the she was done, she gave me the mirror and asked me what I thought... when I looked in the mirror, I did not see a change. I let her know that I was not happy and she blamed my lashes. I told her that I have had lash lifts done before and that they last for 2-3 months- my lashes take curls. Instead of apologizing, she continued to come up with excuses on why it didn't work out. I asked her if she could fix them (because I was paying $100 and wanted results) and she said I could schedule another appointment in a month (since I should not put more chemicals on my lashes). I told her no. I didn't want to make a scene and I was very upset. So I left but then decided to return. I told Gabriella that I wanted to speak to the manager and get refunded since there was no was no result to the lash lift. She called and the owner said Gabriella could give me another lift that week (which goes against what Gabriella had said earlier). I said no, and that they can either refund me or give me extensions at no extra cost. They agreed to give me extensions. I set up my appointment, but still no apology from Gabriella or the owner. I (apprehensively) arrive for the eyelash extensions. Gabriella rushed through the process. As I was leaving, she still did not apologize. I went home and looked at the lashes- Gabriella had glued a lot of extensions in the middle of my lashes, which were clunky and weighing my lashes down. Some fell out that day (sometimes that happens) but then more fell out the second day. Overall, TERRIBLE SERVICE- ineffective lash lift and mediocre eyelash extensions. TERRIBLE customer service- why blame the customer?!?! I will not ever return and will never recommend this place to anyone. read more

I got my first set of eyelash extensions today with Anastasiia and so far, so good! The look is soft and subtle but also adds a good amount of volume. I didn't want anything too dramatic and I think she did exactly what I asked for. I will say that at first it is a little stressful not being able to option your eyes at all as they are slightly taped down (which, duh, makes sense haha) but I could feel myself getting a little anxious. I also did feel a small amount of burning around my eyes with the adhesive but it quickly went away once we were done. I mainly wanted lashes just to quicken my morning routine and to create a very nice, natural look. I'm hoping that the lashes last for the full 3 weeks before I have to refill them again. This was my second trip to Luxe. I was not happy the first time I went because my lashes did not last long, nor did they look full or long. They just looked like I had mascara on. I gave them another try, this time upgrading to a larger number of lashes. I showed the technician a picture of what I wanted and she told me up front that the package I had purchased would not give me that look. We talked about going up to the next "level" of lashes but she did not have the time. I appreciate her telling me up front that her lashes would not look like what I had in mind, but am still disappointed that I paid so much for something that wasn't what I wanted. I'm getting married this week, so of course I had to get some lash extensions! I found Luxe Lashes on Yelp, so I decided to give them a go after reading all of their great reviews. I had been doing A LOT of research on eyelash extensions before deciding to go with Luxe Lashes, because I was very concerned about maintaining the health of my natural lashes, and I wanted to make sure I was going with someone reputable. Their website is very informative and reiterated all the safe practices I was looking for, so I knew they were going to be great. It took me a couple minutes to find the salon, but it is really cute and well decorated! My appointment was with Paris, and upon meeting her I was very excited to get my lashes done. She was super sweet and very knowledgeable, and she talked with me about what length/volume my natural lashes could handle, and told me that they wouldn't do anything more then 2mm longer than my natural lashes, so as not to damage my natural lashes. She said it's always possible to work up to longer/fuller lashes too. We discussed the look I was hoping to achieve and she told me that she'd let me know once she got to look at my lashes more closely if I could do the 80 lashes or the 100. I told her I wanted something super dramatic and noticeable, something that would really show up in the wedding photos. Once we got upstairs, she gave me a neck pillow, I laid down on the table and she got to work. I have to admit, I am super squeamish when it comes to stuff around my eyes. I have trouble going to the eye doctor, or getting my makeup professionally done, so I was VERY nervous about having to lay completely still and have someone working that close to my eyes for an hour +. Besides when she put on the gel eye pads (which go very close to your eye, to hold down the bottom lashes) it was completely relaxing. When she was putting on the gel pads I couldn't help blinking a bunch, so she had to adjust them a couple times; but once she got to work on my eyelashes I had a hard time staying awake! It was very relaxing to lay there with the music playing, and I felt like the 2 hours went by super quick. When I woke up, I had AMAZING full, gorgeous long lashes. These are the lashes dreams are made of! I have to admit, I have already booked my appointments through the holidays because I am not ready to part with these gorgeous things any time soon! The best part, is that since getting them done I have gotten TONS of compliments! I wake up looking fresh and put together with no effort. I had researched almost all day every day for someone to do my lashes for my vacation to the Dominican Republic. I had never gotten false eye lashes and didn't want to look way too dramatic. I had the fear of the "glue heavy" look, as I would call it. I got on yelp, found Luxe Lashes, read the reviews and decided to take a leap of faith. Not very many people gave a detailed description on what they had asked for. I got the "Natural" lashes. Which were perfect. I wear glasses, so it did take some time to get used to the lashes smacking the lenses but I smiled/giggled every time it happened. I don't wear much makeup but on vacation I had planned on wearing some; once I woke up and saw how gorgeous, fabulous, hot tamale, beautiful I looked I said forget it. The lashes added to my confidence. I didn't get my lashes wet till about three days after getting them done. (Picture with Hair up) they still looked very natural. I also got my eyebrows done there. I really wanted this to be my lash place. It took over 3 hours to get my initial set on. That never happened where I went pre Covid. Today marks 2 weeks and I have less than 50% of my lashes. I came here to get my brows tinted and threaded. I specifically told Lydia that I didn't want them too dark and for them to match my roots (I'm blonde with dirty blonde roots). When it was all done, I look in the mirror and my eyebrows are dark dark brown/almost black and one is much fuller than the other. The threading skill was clearly not there as she did not mark any points or outline what she was going to do on my eyebrow. She was very sweet and tried to lighten them two times after that but they are still very dark/red tinted. I also got my lashes lifted and tinted by Arielle. My eyelashes were fine, but there was so much glue/black tint left on my eyelid. I had to rush to CVS and spend the next few hours trying to scrub my eyebrows with a toothbrush and clarifying shampoo. Very disappointed :( read more

Okay.. I've been waiting to write my review for a few days now because I really wanted to get the full experience of lash extensions. I wanted to make this review extremely detailed so that I can help other people decide if eyelash extensions are right for them or not. I wanted eyelash extensions for a very long time before actually taking the plunge. I kept checking Yelp to see if there were new places in the area or new reviews and honestly, nothing was really helpful. I finally decided to just go for it and this is my experience: I found Luxe Lashes through Yelp. They seemed to be one of the most professional, reasonably priced places for me to go to in the area. I made my appointment for a Saturday afternoon and I was super excited. Once I got to the location (Carytown - Short Pump one is closing), I filled out paperwork and waited.. and then I waited.. and then I waited some more. I waited about 50 minutes total downstairs and then about another 15 once I got upstairs. I honestly was getting frustrated around 30-40 minutes and I called the receptionist (who I suppose sits upstairs, because no one was downstairs with me). They answered and I informed them that I had been waiting for quite a while and they were extremely apologetic and told me they would be right with me. Since I had to wait for so long, they took $50 off of my total, which was pretty awesome. If they would have not accommodated for that wasted time, I probably would have just left. However, they explained to me that they were backed up and they were very apologetic. I really appreciated their customer service. I finally started my appointment and I'm not even going to lie, I was pretty miserable. I didn't think about the fact that they have to stick the bottom pad on your bottom lash line to protect your eyes. My eyes would not stop watering and they wouldn't stick and I was getting worried that I would ruin the lashes. I felt bad for them watering so much, but it was very uncomfortable to me. Once that was on I felt a lot better and she started to work on my lashes. I have read that most people fall asleep during this and let me just say that there is no way in the entire world that I could ever fall asleep. Not saying that the stylist was doing a bad job, but just in general, it's not relaxing to me and it was not comfortable. During the procedure I kept telling myself that I would never do it again because I couldn't sit through it again. It took a little over 2 hours and it was finally done. I honestly never thought it would end. Now it was time for the big reveal.. When I decided to get eyelash extensions my boyfriend was worried that it wouldn't like it and that I would end up spending a lot of money on something that I would hate and complain about. I convinced him, "they're eyelashes, you can's mess up on them". So when I got up to look at my lashes, my heart sank and I thought "oh crap". My stylist informed me that she gave me around 100 eyelashes instead of the 80 that I requested. I honestly was a little frustrated because it was extremely dramatic and I wish that she would have asked me or told me during the process. I'm not going to lie, right when she was done, my eyelashes looked crazy. I was so scared and I feel like she could tell because she kept telling me that right now they looked crazy due to the glue and that once I brushed them out they would be better. I didn't believe her and I thought I was in for a terrible few weeks with these eyelashes. However, I decided to give them a try before making any final decisions or writing any reviews. Within the next few hours and a few light brush-throughs, my eyelashes seemed to completely settle down and fan out. I was so happy. I didn't get them wet for three days because I was honestly pretty nervous. I used goggles in the shower the first few days. Once I got them wet I realized that it's pretty annoying to not be able to wipe your eyes in the shower. The biggest adjustments for me are sleeping on my back and showering. Otherwise, I love them. I have received SO many compliments on them. Now, they are way more dramatic than any mascara that I could ever use, so a lot of people notice them. It's been 9 days now and I am still pretty happy. I am wondering if the lashes are a little too heavy on me though. There are about 2-3 lashes per eye that keep sagging down and I can see them in my line of sight. It's very annoying and I would love to rip them out but I obviously don't want to do that. A lot of them are overlapped and both eyes are not very symettric. I find that brushing my lashes is a real pain. In the time that I spend to dry and brush my lashes after my shower I could just apply my regular old mascara. I really was just sick of putting on mascara and wanted to save time, but that didn't really work out. Overall, I'm happy with Luxe Lashes but I feel like they should be easier to brush/keep in place. read more

Came here recently and sat inside the waiting area while a friend was getting her lashes done. The receptionist at the front desk is very rude. I watched her hesitantly greet customers as they walked in, almost as though it was a chore. She was dressed very unprofessionally, wearing cotton boy shorts up to her butt crack, with some type of sheer nylons/tights to go with it and boots. Near the front entrance was a coffee station and she made herself a hot coffee, then proceeded to primp her hair/makeup and stare at herself in the mirror for the 2 and a half minutes it took for the Keurig to finish brewing. I've had a really mixed experience with Luxe Lashes. I started going here last summer because I was getting married and wanted lashes for all of the events leading up to and of course for the wedding. My experience last summer wasn't bad. Although there were a few times the lashes fell out within days. Overall though I was pretty pleased. I took a winter hiatus and decided to start up with lashes again this summer, mainly because a friend of mine gifted me a re-lash that I hadn't used yet. I decided to go to their Stony Point location since it's very difficult to get an appointment at their Carytown location and I figured I'd check out the new space. I was even excited to see they had a new stylist special going on. The day of my appointment my stylist was late, which wasn't the end of the world because I get it - things happen. The appointment took a little longer than usual, but again...not a huge deal. My disappointment is in the lashes themselves - you can't even tell I have lashes on. And I do get the natural set, so I understand they're not going to be anything flashy, but I got the natural set all last summer and these looked nothing like it. When I got home my husband asked me, "I thought you were going to your eyelash appt?" he thought I hadn't even gone. My other disappointment came when I checked out. As I mentioned before my friend had called and gifted me the re-lash and I mentioned it before my appointment to two people - I was told not to worry about it and they would take care of it at the end. When I went to pay and informed them of the gift card, a big process ensued because they couldn't find it on their computer. Apparently when my friend called whoever she spoke with didn't put it in as a gift card and just as a paid service and also never put a note on my account. So when I went to check out they couldn't find it and honestly made me feel uncomfortable and like I was lying about it. I was there at least an additional 20 minutes with them trying to figure this out. I had the square receipt from my friend and her bank statement showing the charge from Luxe. Eventually they called the other store and someone told them to just put it through. Then, once she put it through she took away the new stylist discount and seemed annoyed when I told her that's what I booked under and asked her to put it back on. I understand that I paid less than normal, but it was due to a gift card given to me and a promotion the store had and yet I felt like I was doing something wrong. I hate writing bad reviews, but was just honestly really disappointed the other day. This experience is a big deal for me as I'm in nursing school and on a tight budget and it's always been enjoyable in the past, but I left feeling embarrassed about the amount I paid (even though it was totally justified) and bummed about the lashes themselves. read more

Anastasiia is possibly the sweetest and gentlest lady the universe could send to grace your face. Her warmth radiates the second she opens the door and welcomes you into her studio. I was kinda nervous about getting extensions at first, since I tend to be clumsy and oafish in my daily life, my beauty routine is super minimal, and I swim/am active. Anastasiia assured me that it would all be ok, that I could try them out to see how I felt about them. Also, that once I get them, I'd be hooked on the aesthetic and the ease of use. Allllllll. I will never ever deal with this company again ! I've been trying to cancel my appointment for Saturday 2-2 since Monday the 1-28th. I have been told 2 times someone would call me back or I will get an email confirmation when it's cancels . Neither has happened . So I called back again this evening in 1-30 and get the same person that answered Monday and told me I would hear from them . I said " you were the person I spoke with Monday and told me someone would contact me or email me" . So apparently it's a call answering service that's takes and relays messages to the salon . Really what kind of business does that , this is s small business with 2 locations and they can't hire someone that can answer the phone inside the salon . Really, now I have to drive all the way from chesterfield to Cary street To cancel my allpointment. How inconvenient for the customer. I really am starting to think they are going to not respond to my attempts to cancel my appointment so that they can charge my card if I don't show. How disgusting is that ! read more

Note: This review is for their Short Pump location, since it seems there is no separate page for each location. The Short Pump Luxe Lashes location is kind of hard to find because there's no sign outside - it's actually located inside Sola Salons where it seems a bunch of beauty salon businesses rent out rooms/pods in the salon. The room was clean, well-lit, and neat. The lady didn't speak too much English but enough to communicate everything we needed. She was sweet and gentle, and the nature/waterfall music in the background was a great touch. The lady was efficient, as we finished 10 minutes early. The lashes looked good although I lost a few after leaving the shop, and then a few more the next day even though I didn't shower and followed their after-care instructions. Maybe it's supposed to happen, but I feel like the new lashes shouldn't be falling out this soon. Anyway, it's only been 5-8 lost lashes, so it's okay for now. Overall was a good experience, but I might try the Carytown location next time just to compare quality. read more

I booked with Anastasia to get my lashes done for the first time 4 months ago and I have been hooked since ! These lashes are life savers. They save me so much time in the morning from having to apply mascara or sometimes from even having to do my makeup bc I don't feel it's necessary when I have these lashes on. I swam at beaches and pools all summer with the lashes, took showers, washed my face and took off my makeup with no problems. Of course I had a couple lashes fall out every so often but by then it was time for my relash appointment. They have a friendly and skilled staff and the application was comfortable and easy. Unusually fall asleep during my appointments. You can also book and cancel appointment at your own convinience online on their website. I will say my first initial appointment, my lashes had fallen out way faster than anytime after but I think it's bc when you first initially get lashes put on the first time, you have natural oils on your eyelids that prevent the lashes from sticking as well. So after I went back to get my first relash, it was all fantastic from then on ! Highly recommend this place. Go do yourself a favor. read more

I can't say enough AMAZING things about Paris at Luxe Lashes! I first visited her at the Short Pump location right before the holidays--I'd made the mistake of impulsively adding on an eyelash service at a nail salon--not a great plan. I knew I was talking to a true professional when Paris explained that her primary concern was the health of my lashes and that I'd have to work up to the amount of lashes that I wanted. Since then, I've seen Paris every 2-3 weeks and wouldn't go anywhere else. Eyelash extensions are truly a skilled service and I'm convinced that she is hands down the best. I've learned how to best take care of my extensions to maximize their lasting and have whittled my make-up routine down from full eye contour, liquid liner and mascara to NOTHING but extensions. read more

HORRIBLE APPLICATION!!!! IF YOU WANT NATURAL LASHES YOU WILL NOT GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!!! I was hesitant to even give one star! I am brand new to Richmond and Anastasia was recommended for a "natural" look since that is what I have been used to. I have had extensions for over 2 years and NEVER have I had such awful extensions done. Not only does Anastasia NOT SPEAK ENGLISH, she does not speak to you (except to take your money!!!) and she literally pulls your natural lashes out and it is painful!!! When she finished and showed me my eyes, I looked like a stripper with cat eyes and the 3D natural lashes she was supposed to apply were straight, stiff and very hard. She gladly charged me for the 3D but volume WAS NOT what I got! In addition, my eye lids were SO HEAVY WITH GLUE!!!! I could see the clumps of glue and they were so far up my natural eye lash that I had to have the extensions removed because it would have broken my natural lashes. TERRIBLE experience and if you care about keeping your natural lashes DO NOT use her for she is improperly trained and does not know what she's doing!!!!! read more

I chose Luxe Lashes because of the awesome Yelp reviews (are they all legitimate)? I don't know if they're any good because I never made it inside the shop. My appointment was set, I was ready, but I got held up. My lateness was unavoidable and when called, I told the very polite young lady that I was trying to get there as quickly as possible. I actually made it to the door when my cell rang and I was told that it was too late and "they" cancelled my appointment. There were no ifs, ands, or buts. I was already biting down on frustration and really needed that bit of pampering. Let me be clear, not only did they cancel my appointment, but they charged me a $25.00 late fee. When I sent an email back questioning the charge, I received no response. Nada. Zilch. If I could give them a negative number, then I would gladly do so...but maybe they did me a favor. I bought a Groupon for Luxe Lashes and used it a little while ago. I was so excited to get my eyelashes done. I have seen celebrities with theirs done and I thought it would be awesome for the holiday season. I got the "Glamorous" set, which I believe is 100 lashes per eye. I laid there for about an hour and a half I'm guessing. I'm not sure if it was the type of set, but I left with eyelashes that looked very fake and overdone, you could tell I was wearing fake lashes. I thought the whole point was for them to look like your own lashes. They were EXTREMELY long and kind of thick and black, so it looks like I have falsies on at all times. If you like that kind of fake, spidery look, then I say go for it. But unfortunately people can definitely tell Ive had them done. My mom started laughing at me when I saw her for the holidays, and I had kids today staring at my eyes in Panera. Not the kind of attention you want when you get something done to your face.
