Our house is fairly clutter free and well appointed, but John just has a knack for making things look that much better; It was fun to watch him in action. Our house looked so beautiful we almost did not want to sell it! With 2 young boys and very busy lives, we were extremely concerned with keeping the house "showing ready" at all times. Obviously given the preparation that went into the house, John does not believe in a "slap it up and hope it sticks" approach that I had grown accustomed to with other realtors. This became evident when we received an offer for above asking price on the first day, which set a strong comparable standard for the neighborhood. The events between the offer and closing can often be wrought with issues. From the inspection, to the appraisal, and the closing itself, everything was handled very well and went fast and smooth thanks in large part to the diligence of John. He is not afraid to act on your behalf to speed the process up, whether it be speaking to an appraiser or calling a lender. Mandy Moss and her group at Republic Title, the agency John uses, were also very friendly and quick to help with anything we needed. John is truly a consummate professional at all times. During the whole process I never worried about being able to speak to him almost instantly. No email, text, or phone call went unanswered for more than an hour; most of the time it was instantaneous. Any detail needing his attention to keep the process going was immediately dealt with. It always felt like it was his own house he was selling. After that he lacked Customer Service, Customer Empathy, professionalism and responsiveness. First off, when you are moving, leaving one job and starting a new one in another state, you need lots of help and support from your Realtor. You pay them to constantly be in contact with you, go over many times the key cost of selling your house outside commission. Jeff handed us off many times to his "team" and wasn't readily available. We often had to leave messages or talk to his staff which didn't have all the answers we wanted. He is out of town often and it's his time off. We had a medium to high end home in Bridlewood, Flower Mound, TX and felt very under represented. From the lack of response, to the non-professional photos, to not reviewing our closing statement with us before we signed, just bad customer service. I also told him many times I didn't want to pay for a home warranty for the buyer but it was put inside an addendum I didn't thoroughly read. So regardless of me telling him I didn't want it, he knew I was so busy so he just put it in the addendum and knew we would sign. I also had to ask him to check in with my wife often, which he didn't, maybe he had an office staff person call her, but not him. I told him I felt like he didn't represent me well against what he stated was a less experienced realtor as I feel they got more than needed. I asked Jeff for a refund of some of the commission because he didn't perform well, his response was I don't owe you anything and you signed everything. He doesn't care about the service he provided, he measures customer service by you signing the documents and moving along. So, therefore I give him a bad review. If he would have refunded some money and covered for his lack of negotiating skills on my house and for the poor customer service, I would have felt much better. Also, our first buyer was a cash offer that dropped out. it turns out they rented a home that Jeff is representing, he didn't even have the professionalism to tell us, he just stated they weren't interested in our house anymore. A neighbor informed us. He stated he didn't make any money, not one penny, but I know who rented the house he represented and they are wealth clients who he would like in the future.

The house I was in also had major foundation problems and the homeowner admitted to repainting and redoing the flooring to cover up the foundation problems. I called Signature Leasing when the back splash in the kitchen had separated from the wall by 2 inches, due to the foundation problems, and their answer was to try to Superglue the backsplash back to the wall. Obviously, that did not work out well! When I moved out, they charged me for all types of things that were normal wear and tear and then charged me, per the homeowner, for painting and new flooring, when the homeowner himself told me he would have to replace the flooring and repaint due to the foudation problems. I will also add that the house was not repainted or the floors repaired when I moved in. There were numerous cracks in the sheetrock and in the ceramic flooring due to foundation prioblems.
