I was extremely skeptical because of the reviews and I generally prefer non-chain businesses. I'm so glad I took the chance! Deja answered the phone and set up an appointment for me for the same day. She has great customer service skills and explained the policy of "no cancellation" since it was scheduled same day. She offered me the new customer special. She greeted me when I arrived and then went over my request/needs for massage. My massage therapist, Darla, was a darling! She made me feel comfortable and adjusted pressure to my liking. She was able to work in my feet to relieve the pain from my plantar fasciitis. What a pro! I always take reviews with a grain of salt and I'm so happy (and relieved!) I ended up at Massage Envy. I honestly didn't see how this would help me as I had visited with two other LMTs in the area and had no real change to my condition; however, after one session with Tamika I immediately noticed a difference in my stance. It wasn't until the next morning though, that I stood straight up for the first time since my surgery. Given that I'm looking for multiple options for my client, I asked the man I was speaking with if he knew if reflexology and acupuncture needed to go in a certain order or if it even matter. His response " in my personal opinion, acupuncture is something that has to be believed in for it to work, kind of like that witchcraft mess." Well... in MY PERSONAL OPINION, that type of comment is not only unprofessional but also shines a very dim light on Healing Hands as a business. Given that this company is listed under NATURAL/HOLISTIC, I would think that the employees working there would be more knowledgeable about the field they are practicing in. Acupuncture isn't something to "believe in" nor should it be compared to witchcraft. It is a science based approach that treat nerve points within the body, alleviating tension and inflammation by activating the nerve point to release. Being a holistic wellness counselor myself ... I WILL NEVER refer a single client of mine to this place of business when this is the mindset of the people working here. This is a complete contradiction of the "healing hands" approach. Heal the mind first, then maybe that knowledge will flow through the hands. Lost a revenue of customers before even stepping foot in the door!
