Especially in the Winter. My regular Doctor told me about Deb Kiley, so I reluctantly went to her office. Best move I have made since finding J. Little as my Doctor. Deb took a look at this poor old Cyborg body and new I was in trouble. Since going to her my quality of life has improved, I can move around alot more, and she always has a "Good Medical Idea" for my ailment's am very thankful she took me as a patient. If you live up here, and suffer from alot of discomfort during the Winter months, then get your ass in to see Deb. She is one in a million, and Alaska is lucky to have her...(Don't tell her I wrote this, she might think I like her or something....:)

My daughter was not feeling great on Sunday so I looked on the preferred provider list for Aetna…read moreand this was the nearest urgent care clinic. When we arrived there were two other patients in the reception area waiting to be called back. After about 20 minutes of paperwork she was taken back to do her vitals then shown to an exam room to wait for the doctor. When I say wait I do mean wait. We checked in at 10:40 am the doctor walked in the room the first time at 12:42 pm. She was very efficient and had a good repoire with my daughter. While the staff is friendly the overall time spent at the clinic made my already grumpy and sick teenager grumpier which in turn got me grumpy. Not sure if they can beef up and have two doctors on staff over the weekend but wow...that was a long time to be seen.

TL:DR - If you're okay with a doctor and ER team that's going to treat a patient who is passing a…read morekidney stone (that has been diagnosed by their team!) as though they are drug seeking narcotics, and isn't going to pay attention to details, and won't make good on the issues that their own department creates, then this is certainly the place for you. Full rant below: If you have options for your ER visit look elsewhere. My husband and my experience with Dr. Sami T Ali and the ER department was less than spectacular. We are very frustrated as it was made clear that we were going to fly home to California shortly after our midnight ER visit for his first kidney stone. The prescription that was given to us wasn't even dated, and none of the pharmacies here will take it without a check mark over the qty as well. Well, we're all human and make mistakes at 12 in the morning (I certainly didn't catch it), so I called the ER in hopes that they could just send the prescription digitally to the pharmacy, but apparently they can't. So because of this team's incompetency we're up a creek unless we go to another urgent or emergency care to see another doctor in the interim since nobody is open on the weekends. Who likes having money anyway right? There's some things that aren't their fault. I get it, you deal with drug seeking patients constantly in an ER, and it's not exactly this hospital's fault that the controlled substance processes are broken because of this, but at the end of the day you are a medical facility. In a medical facility details ALWAYS MATTER. If you were really that worried then why not test the blood that you took?? You can clearly see if this is just an addict trying to get their fix, or if this is someone who is clean and just trying to get through a painful process. So, as stated in my top summary, if you're okay with a doctor and ER team that's going to err on the side that a patient who is passing a kidney stone (OW!) of guilty until proven innocent for trying to treat their pain, and isn't going to pay attention to details, and won't make good on the issues that their own department creates, then this is certainly the place for you.

Once I got to my car, they called and were scolding me for "walking out," even though the tech had said I was good to go. I was treated like a non-compliant patient the rest of the time I waited. My most recent trips I worked with Doctor Elizabath Clawson and she has spoiled the experience for me. I likely will not be returning again. I went in, knowing what was wrong with me and looking for a urinalysis to confirm so I could be medicated. Before the testing was even complete the Doctor, rather matter of fact, diagnosed me with two things that were completely outlandish. Once the 1st round of testing came back she was confirmed to be wrong. Then she again diagnosed me with another issue that was outlandish and urged me to go to the ER. Days later testing came back and what I knew to be the issue was the issue. If I hadn't met her one time previously and learned how she behaved I would have been scared to death and in tears. A doctor is supposed to be supportive with the goal of achieving care rather than the goal of sparking fear and diagnosing with no solid facts or evidence. She told me I was pregnant before a test was even complete. I was not pregnant and that shouldn't be the go to prognosis when a woman is in pain.
