They waited just past 3yrs for her to retire and patients to be unable to easily transition back to their previous provider to tell the patients that their plan of care would be changing vastly once she left the practice. I wish i could just say they don't care about their patients and if it was just that alone, I'd be resolute in the fact that it's better that we separated to go our separate ways. HOWEVER, that's not the only issue here, it apparently the office manager has taken it upon herself to breach hipaa laws and patient privacy because she's sharing with other pain management specialists her "unprofessional opinion" on specific patients and whether she feels they're a "problem patient or not" even when there's no documentation in file to suggest otherwise. So in the very near future a lawsuit is likely to follow, and from the similarities other patients have shared ... it might end up being a class action suit. It takes a lot of gaul and moral irresponsibility to speak on people who don't have an active ROI... Recently 3 of 5 pain management clinics have been refusing to serve this patient after having just stated they have openings and accept the insurance. They enquired about previous pain doctors and Alpenglow was only named, but no ROI or paperwork was completed to give a reason for them to come back ready to run in the opposite direction, unwilling to do procedures or medications. So far two have employees willing to admit that negative comments that were shared... so there's that... When you see this clinic, don't just walk in the opposite direction, RUN! Because when it's good, it's fine, but the moment there is a problem, it becomes nasty quick. And the unethical behaviors we've experienced are astounding, and seem to target patients who have an emotional response to bad news, ex. start crying, or try explaining through tears the situation they're facing in their plan of care, or whether they feel supported or not. The other targets are people who refused to take medications prescribed to them that had adverse physical effects. Before you know it, you're looking for a new provider and that's about the only thing i can appreciate is that the people who have terminated or been terminated are at least lucky to be out of there with a better chance for responsible care.

Unheard of where I moved here from. And secondly: Wow, such a friendly staff, helpful, experienced, professional, yet not clinical/robotic. These people care. My visit wasn't a number, I wasn't rushed in and out of the process. Dr Hall took her time and wasn't pressured at all to get to another patient. I didn't mind waiting a little while in the exam room once it was apparent that's how this clinic works. I appreciate that the staff takes their time with each patient. I didn't see the negative reviews and I won't go there. No need. I'm more than impressed with this clinic and its staff. I'd give them a 20 out of 1-10 if I could!

Behind each patient there is a story that represents the reason for a surgical intervention. My…read morestory started about 30 years ago, when I noticed small bony deformities on both my feet. As years went by, the deformities got bigger to the point that it was difficult to find comfortable shoes. These deformities caused pain that became more severe over the years; the pain made my walking very difficult and kept me awake during the night. I was diagnosed with bilateral bunions and surgery was the only option. In my country bunion surgery doesn't have a high rate of success, so I gave up the hope that I will ever have normal feet, wear normal shoes and be free of pain. My sister brought my case to Dr. Heilala's attention. When he heard my story, he was so kind that he offered to come to my country and operate on my feet. After he saw my X-Rays and the lack of modern surgical instruments and equipment he told my sister that it will be dangerous to do the surgery without proper instruments but offered to see me in Anchorage. I flew thousands of miles to see Dr. Heilala. He was so welcoming and talked to me so kindly! He gave me several treatment options, explained risks and benefits and helped me to choose the best treatment plan. The surgery was without any complications. I saw my "new feet" at the first post op appointment, five days after the surgery. I had tears of joy and happiness when I saw that my feet have no deformities and looked exactly as they were when I was young! Dear Dr. Heilala, You brought light into my life! You brought back my self-esteem! I am no longer embarrassed with the way my feet look. You brought back the joy of practicing my profession with the same elegance and joy as I did in my younger years. As a lawyer I defend people's lives and their destinies.
