Deb took a look at this poor old Cyborg body and new I was in trouble. Since going to her my quality of life has improved, I can move around alot more, and she always has a "Good Medical Idea" for my ailment's am very thankful she took me as a patient. If you live up here, and suffer from alot of discomfort during the Winter months, then get your ass in to see Deb. She is one in a million, and Alaska is lucky to have her...(Don't tell her I wrote this, she might think I like her or something....:)

I had to stop treatment because my husband received out-of-state orders with the military. He helped heal my left foot injury that was causing a weird sensation going up my left knee. Full rant below: If you have options for your ER visit look elsewhere. My husband and my experience with Dr. Sami T Ali and the ER department was less than spectacular. We are very frustrated as it was made clear that we were going to fly home to California shortly after our midnight ER visit for his first kidney stone. The prescription that was given to us wasn't even dated, and none of the pharmacies here will take it without a check mark over the qty as well. Well, we're all human and make mistakes at 12 in the morning (I certainly didn't catch it), so I called the ER in hopes that they could just send the prescription digitally to the pharmacy, but apparently they can't. So because of this team's incompetency we're up a creek unless we go to another urgent or emergency care to see another doctor in the interim since nobody is open on the weekends. Who likes having money anyway right? There's some things that aren't their fault. I get it, you deal with drug seeking patients constantly in an ER, and it's not exactly this hospital's fault that the controlled substance processes are broken because of this, but at the end of the day you are a medical facility. In a medical facility details ALWAYS MATTER. If you were really that worried then why not test the blood that you took?? You can clearly see if this is just an addict trying to get their fix, or if this is someone who is clean and just trying to get through a painful process. So, as stated in my top summary, if you're okay with a doctor and ER team that's going to err on the side that a patient who is passing a kidney stone (OW!) of guilty until proven innocent for trying to treat their pain, and isn't going to pay attention to details, and won't make good on the issues that their own department creates, then this is certainly the place for you.

I was told I had to have a sleep apnea study done I went and did that came back to them to get my card they said it had to be extended for only 30 days because they needed the read out of my sleep apnea I went back and had that done. I called my sleep apnea doctor had them fax over with the telephone number that this place gave me to receive my sleep test called to verify they had received it they told me yes they had I came back to pick up my DOT card and now they're telling me they never received the fax.. they had me listed with a wrong address and a wrong telephone number in their computer so they have been trying to call someone else about my medical reports. Now my DOT has expired and I will not be able to get it renewed until Tuesday because it's Labor Day weekend. The doctors and staff here are unprofessional and a lack communication with each other severely. I'm not for sure what happened on yelp there used to be more reviews and an old one from me that now seem to all be gone. Please go to my health clinic on Abbet Road don't waste your time here. Three months in the making and I still have not received my DOT! And I was just told well I can start over for $135 and have the doctor relook at me what the heck!!!

I go to AUC to get a prescription for Libre 2 a glucose monitoring system, when the prescription…read moreexpired l went back and Dr. Brown set up the prescription and charged me for the visit and I was on my way. l picked up the device at Costco and applied then sensor but my phone app did not work. I called the manufacture and they told me the device was a Libre 14 not a Libra 2. l went back to AUC and was given the correct prescription. l pay for this out of my own pocket as the VA does not cover it (my cancer and diabetes are because of Agent Orange Exposure) Well the wrong prescription cost me $88 and l talked to the Dr. about reimbursement for the incorrect prescription and he said his boss said no, at which point time I said he should pay me himself and he said his boss would not allow it. What is ironic about all this is when he just finished writing the wrong prescription for me he told me how he disliked the VA and encouraged me to have all my medical needs provided by them... l am contacting the Alaska Medical Board and trying to get the money from him at court.

Waited a little over an hour. Once I got back to the room the assistant asked some questions and then The doctor came about 5 minutes later. He said that it takes about 10 days to really tell if it was a sinus infection. He said they used to prescribe antibiotics without knowing if it was bacterial or viral infection. They were just over prescribing antibiotics for things like this so they wait 10 days. So he sent us to Walmart and I got a generic nasal spray that you take once every 10 hours. The Flonase you can only take 72hrs and if you take more you get rebound congestion. I only had to pay my copay and was on my way soon after. They called me a few days later to check in on me. At that time I thought it was getting better. Now it has been a week since I went in and I'm still very congested to I called them. They gave me an antibiotic prescription without having to go in again. Overall the people working that I saw were great, front desk lady is efficient and helpful, doctor was nice. The place is pretty dated looking, far from fancy or new. They say it depends on the day and they never know how busy it will be. Sometimes they have a line of people when they open sometimes not. You can always call ahead and see what they wait it. By the time I went into the dr. Office it was a two hour wait. I'm just hoping to antibiotics work and if they do I should be better in 2 to 3 days. As I'm writing this it will have been day 12! Finger crossed!

The provider that I saw Dr. Shannon Hansen was so patient, wanted to know my full history, asked me great questions so she can better help me. You could tell she really cared about my health and longevity, did blood work, got my old records, full family history. The front desk was sweet, professional, and you could tell very good at their jobs. They made sure I had everything that I needed and knew exactly what to do before I left. Everyone was very helpful, friendly, accommodating. I have never had "a provider" before, always bounced around between dr.'s; until now! I wont get better care anywhere else.
