When I called it was close, asked if they took my insurance, Premera BCBS of Alaska and they did. Double checked online with my insurance and they had good ratings. I needed urgent care I felt. I had called in a Telemed visit with a physician, but they suggested lab work and Labcorp is only open M-F. They weren't busy when I called so I came right away. Easy registration and no wait. Dr. did my examination and she did an onsite analysis which was inconclusive but she's still sending it out for a higher level of testing to be sure. I liked that. She gave me a script she thought would cover both symptoms. It was fast thourough and very happy with the level of care. Would definatly use them on a weekend again. read more

I usually see Christi Froiland, PA-C. I will always give her as many stars as I can. Tonight, she wasn't on duty and I got to see Leslie. They are both wonderfully skilled clinicians and I'd trust them with my life. I'm pretty sure it was April who took my labs and she's awesome too! I didn't get the name of the lady at the front desk, but she is so kind and patient. Even though I live in the valley, I continue to keep this as my primary office. Like everywhere you go these days, they are short staffed because of the current covid crisis; but if you arrive with patience, your visit should run smoothly. My wife was a patient of this group for 8 years, generating thousands of dollars in revenue via private insurance. As soon as she turned 65 and began using Medicare as well as Supplemental insurance from Aetna, they refused to see her unless she paid full price. So much for loyal and compassionate healthcare. Fortunately for me, I have been an 8-year patient of Arete, who continues to value me as a patient. If you are disgusted by this treatment of a long time patient, quickly consider another healthcare provider. Wow, did they rip me off! I went in for removal of wax in my ear and I was charged $281, as a surgeon code, on top of a $317 dollar office visit. The doctor took 5 minutes to look in my ear, the nurse took 10 minutes to put water in my ear and extract the wax and it was $598. I have never paid that much for this procedure, even from a specialist! I contacted them and they said this is what we charge for primary care doing this! I would never, ever recommend them and I'm sorry that I can't put this out to more people so they do not get scammed!!! read more

PA Sarah is possibly the worst health care provider I've ever run across!I She should have her license taken! I went in with a pretty bad dog bite, and after waiting almost an hour before getting into a room, this PA finally came in. She said I was stupid for getting bit. She grilled me about the circumstances! She plainly could see it was a dog bite, but it was like she didn't believe anything I said. She just ... she was skeptical, and haughty, like I was stupid, and lying. It was awful! She finally sent her minion in to clean and dress my wound. And then I had to wait another 35 minutes before she deigned to write a prescription for antibiotics for me, like I didn't deserve them, because I was so stupid to have been bitten by a dog. She actually said "Well, I guess I'll have to write you a prescription." Does anyone know how to recommend her license be reviewed? read more

I just left the PCA on Huffman in tears! The experience was awful. After I was seen by the nurse, she told me Ashley would be in shortly. I waited for 45 minutes and no one even opened the door. However, I had to listen to all the laughing, talking, carrying on and nonsense from the room next to me! It was so very upsetting and needless to say I felt worse than I did when I walked in! As I left, no one said a word to me to get me to reconsider and stay. It was very unprofessional, very upsetting and not at the all what they claim to be on commercials. Don't go! read more

Doctor said straight out wasn't interested in finding diagnosis, it's a big pain to get refills (several requests by pharmacy that doesn't get an answer and messages left to both doctor and nurse). Doesn't feel like provider is interested in helping and questions all my medications given by specialists. Don't go here. We are looking for a new primary care provider. read more

I didnt have insurance so I called pca and asked how much it would be for a checkup and bloodwork. They quoted me a price. After I went there and had the work done, they tried to charge me more than double. I complained and they reduced the price but later I received a bill in the mail from lab company. I was never informed this would happen. Crooked practice. Avoid this place. Plus, doctors are cold and apathetic to your needs. read more

WARNING: Do not use this facility for your DOT medical exam. I went in for my DOT medical exam and was told that due to my weight I had to have a sleep apnea test run on me. My insurance has a deductible of $1300 a year. So my out-of-pocket was going to cost me $500. I don't know about the rest of you but I live paycheck to paycheck and coming up with $500 is a hardship on me being single. It took all 2 1/2 months to save the money to have the sleep apnea test ran. Dr. Leslie Linden only gave me three month extension on my medical card. I picked up the machine took it home slept with that and then have to wait one week for the neurologist to read the report on it. Then I had to wait three days to have an appointment made to have the neurologist tell me I have sleep apnea and need a machine, I took a copy of that report back to Primary Care to get an extension on my DOT medical card doing this from the neuro Dr telling me to do it. To get the machine I had to have another appointment which took three more days now Dr. Leslie Linden wants a 30 day report from the chip in the machine when I haven't had it long enough for a 30 day report and when I asked for them to extend my DOT medical card out for one extra week I was told no or I could pay $135 to have Dr. Leslie Linden give me a new medical exam. WTF?? I call the neurologist Dr. glasses office explain everything to him and he says maybe Dr. Leslie didn't understand I hadn't got the machine yet. So I again call back to Primary care to explain to them I have not received the machine yet to do the study for 30 days could they please extend my DOT medical card out a week more and they say they will call me back. They called me back and said yes come pick up your new DOT medical card I wasn't able to the following day and they called again to remind me that I had a new card waiting I told him I would be in the next morning. Well the next morning gets there I go in to get the card and they have not extended a week but they've shortened it by three days!!! WTF Again!!!! This facility lacks communication skills terribly between the staff members and the patients. If I could give them a zero star point I would. Awful awful awful service. To say I'm highly upset would be a understatement and will not recommend this company for anything to any one ever!! UPDATE: 9-6-2017 I has Peak Medical fax over my sleep apnea results to them called to verify they had received the fax they told me yes I went down to get my medical card signed off set for an hour in the waiting room just to be told that oops their sorry their mistake and they didn't get the fax from Peak Medical. By that time Peak Medical was closed for Labor Day weekend had to take a day off work wait till Tuesday drive to Peak Medical get the print out myself take it over to them to be told that now my medical card had expired on Monday and I would have to retake my whole medical exam over for $135. These guys just want money! Wasn't going to happen instead I went over to aviation medical services right on the corner of Spenard and International first building to your right as you cross over the railroad tracks second floor they do aviation DOT medical exams and they only charge $95. I checked in and gave my ID, as I was sitting and waiting. Natasha at the front desk, tapped my ID card on the desk several times to get my attention. Then a few minutes later, she gets my attention by saying ma'am several times again, she didn't bother to peak her head out. I have a name and she NEVER used it while I was there. Terrible don't go there, asked for oral steroids to reduce inflammation for a pinched nerve and was told to go get an MRI. Despite telling him I couldn't afford it due to my deductible being thousands, and to please consult with another provide or refer to the literature he said he couldn't.....worse thing is he had a copy of my 3 month old last MRI result in his hand showing cervical stenosis. Treated me like a drug seeking addict and I never asked for anything except prednisone....sad. read more

So they have screwed up multiple times. I had to bother the front office staff for 6 weeks to get a referral to a specialty doctor for them to finally fax it over. They haven't billed my insurance company and are telling me I am to pay the entire bill, and finally, I schedule an appointment and they forget about me in the waiting room. This is, by far, the worst health clinic I have ever been to. The front office staff is incompetent, they do not return phone calls as promised, and lie regarding cost of treatment. I have always had great service and experiences at this clinic. The front desk staff is always polite. We really like Dr. Hickel, however every other Dr. we have seen has also been great. I have been going to this facility for several years because of the location and the walk-in policy. I will not go to this business anymore for a whole lot of reasons. They are not concerned about your health and well-being at all. Their only goal is to take as much or you money as possible. For example, this last visit to the clinic was horrible - as usual. I sat in their waiting room for over an hour, and then waited in their exam room for nearly an hour as I repeated my symptoms to three people trying to get relief. Ultimately, a practitioner diagnosed me with a sinus infection, upper respiratory infection, an ear infection, and a bacterial infection in my throat caused by post-nasal drip. I unfortunately have a life-long history of ear infections, several of which have been diagnosed and treated through this clinic. When I was told what she was prescribing me, I asked her for something stronger because I've learned from numerous previous experiences that it wouldn't be enough. She stated she wanted me to try the "baby antibiotics" and call in if it didn't clear up and she'd call in something stronger... unfortunately something that has happened before. Guess what, I took the antibiotics as prescribed and the infections are back with a vengeance. ***surprise!*** I called the clinic today at 1pm and sat on hold for a half hour before a receptionist finally answered. She stated she would call in the prescription. I went to the pharmacy when I got off work at 3pm and they didn't have record of the script being called in. I called the clinic back and they had no idea what I was talking about. So again, I explained the situation to her and she said she'd call it in. A 6pm that they still hadn't called in the script so I called the clinic back and they finally told me that I had to come in again and spend another $200 just to get a script for an illness I previously paid them $200 for - and of course, pay for another prescription. It's clinics like this that have made health insurance and healthcare so expensive. They're crooks, their inconsiderate, they don't care about you or your time, and they make promises they never intend to keep so long as it keeps you coming back to line their pockets. Go somewhere - anywhere else but here! You will regret it! read more

Had my husband set up an appointment for me while I was traveling for work. He asked for a specific PA and PCA gave him the next time and date. I showed up, and waited a long time in the waiting room. After asking to reschedule, they said they never had me in the system. And that the specific PA I asked for only works on Tuesday. Today is Thursday. So if we asked for a specific PA and the office knows what day she works, why would you schedule for a day she is NOT in the office. Get it together! Office staff is not personable, act like they really don't like their job or people. I was recommended this place. But no way I would ever go back. read more

I give the 4100 Lake Otis, 3rd floor offices, a ZERO! I made an appointment 5 days or so in advance to see a physician to be able to get a referral to a specialist. I checked in about 20 minutes before my scheduled appointment time and waited in the lobby. At my scheduled time, I was taken back to an exam room. 45 minutes later, still no doctor, nobody checked in on me, never any mention at any time the doctor was running behind. I left the exam room, took my paperwork and left the paperwork at the reception desk on my way out the door. You can bet I will be calling my insurance company to notify them of the service date and that there was never any service performed. read more

I am not happy with the way they have treated my mom! I am the one who referred her there and I am the one looking for a new doctor for her. This is beyond upsetting. The staff has ignored my mom's request for information about her own tests! She calls in and no one, NO ONE, calls her back. She has been sick for a long time and is trying to figure out why! No one here cares! They cuss and argue with each other. They are highly unprofessional. They asked her to fill out a form to get her records from another facility and instead of getting records they sent all of her records to the other facility! Do not come here! Went there with a Sinus Infection. There was a long line but I was served faster than they had told me. I say Katherine Hardy FNP, she was GREAT, efficient, through an appeared to have more knowledge than anyone I had ever seen for Sinus Infection. Katherine has a passion/extended knowledge in Sinus Infections which gave e comfort, she asked if I had any other concerns ... I told her I was going to fly in 5-6 days. She gave me her card, told me if I was not feeling a lot better in 2 days to call her so we can work on an alternative plan so I could fly. WOW If I ever have a Sinus Infection again(I will) I will find out what office she is currently at and go there. I would give this a 5* but I did have to wait but I know that was not their fault. A 5* is for me feeling fixed and no pain when I leave. I would make it a 4.5* though. read more

We decided to get her checked out at PCA, where she was checked on by PA LESLIE LINDEN. She was great! LESLIE LINDEN was warm and caring and provided great medical care with fast results. If I could give them 0 stars I would. I have been seeing Dr. T for the last year and I have an as needed call in prescription for two controlled substances. Dr. T is apparently out of the office for two weeks and when I called to refill I was told yeah, sure. So the next day when my pharmacy said they hadnt heard anything from them I called back only to find out that the Dr.'s on staff refused to refill my rx because I hadnt been back to Dr.T in 9 months. Hey geniuses, that is only because i need this rx every few months. Who the hell are they to say what i do and do not need. I knew I hated the staff and other doctors since I have been going there, but Dr. T is awesome so I just stuck out the nasty girls in the front office and judgmental physicians. You should all be ashamed of yourself. You are meant to help people not hurt them. This is the worst drs office I have ever been to and i plan on filing a complaint against the doctors who are currently in the office and refused to refill my rx. Its seriously like they take all the trash in anchorage and staff this place, you couldnt pay me to go back. read more

The night crew is not very friendly & talks to people in condescending tones. I heard the receptionist talk like this to a number of patients who were checking in. The only person that really greeted me in a friendly manner was a doctor who was just passing me in the hallway. Last time I went here though the other people I encountered were a lot nicer. Since I only go here once a year because my employer is contracted through them, it's a waste of my time to bring this to their attention when I only have to put up with them once a year but you would think that talking to people respectfully would be common sense. DON'T GO HERE! I broke my ankle and after looking at my xrays the doctor literally said, "Oh it's broken. No wonder you're whining so much." Afterwards, I asked the nurse and the front desk at least 5 times if there is anything else I need before I leave. Was told no from all of them. Come to find out none of the staff that I asked even bothered to check and see if there was anything else. Was at Walgreen's 24 hours all the way by Sears on Northern Lights and they told me my Vicodin can not be faxed I had to go pick it up at the same place again and come back since the other Walgreens did not do 24 hours pharmacy and this was late night. Called and spoke to the same front desk lady that I asked earlier about if I needed anything and she apologized and told me they were closing so I would need to hurry and pick up my paper copy of my prescription asap. How rude! So me and my broken ankle drove all the way back to Huffman Primary Care Associates and I was not happy by this time. PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF THE TIME AND TROUBLE DO NOT GO HERE! read more

This place is very poorly run. The first time I attempted to go there, I went at 2:30pm on a Tuesday and there was no one at the front. I tried saying "hello?!" quiet a few times, and even called down the hallway, but nobody came. After 10 minutes of standing there, I left. About 6 months later, I decided to give them another try since their location is so convinient. Even being the only patient in the waiting room, I waited for almost a full hour. They finally took me back, told me the provider would be in in 5 to 10 min. No such luck. Another 45 min go by till she finally made it in there. The girl who took me back left the door cracked when she left, and I could hear all the employees laughing and talking about how they forget about patients and making jokes about them. Extremely unprofessional and unorganized office. I will not be returning. read more

Primary Care Associates on Industry Way, in my opinion, is the WORST managed and organized health care facility I have ever experienced. I have had two terrible visits with them. After my first visit with them, I contacted the office manager to tell her of my dissatisfaction. I spoke with the facility manager first as a courtesy, instead of just leaving a bad review, just in case it was an oversight that she could address with the staff. I now understand they just have a blatant disregard of anyone's time. My first visit was a scheduled appointment for my daughter's camp physical. The appointment time was for 4:00 p.m. After numerous calls to my husband, who took her, to find out if they were done, it was not until 5:15 that they were taken into a room. It was admitted by the front office staff that they had "forgotten" about her. It was not until my husband went up to the desk at 5:00 p.m. that they realized their error. No apologies were given by the staff, other than the PA-C, who said "she was sorry for the delay". Now, three months later I find I need to get a school physical for my son and I schedule a 4:15 p.m. appointment. My husband calls me at 5:15 and tells me they were just NOW taking him back. He expressed his dissatisfaction with the PA-C, who unbelievably told him, "at least they improved by 5 minutes". This was a callous and unprofessional comment to make. Again, no apologies and no explanations. I presently work in the medical field, grew up in the medical field (my mother was a physician in Anchorage for 40 years) and I would NEVER treat a patient with such discourtesy. I understand offices may run behind, but it is the responsibility of the staff to acknowledge that and not "forget" about patients or disregard their patient's time. I have left a message with the office manager, with the hopes that they would listen and take into consideration that the flow of their office needs improvement. With no return phone call, I am left leaving a negative review to warn others of the unprofessionalism of Primary Care Associates. read more
