Borracho Tacos

Borracho Tacos

We hired Borracho Tacos for our after-wedding late night snack at a hotel in Orange County. They…read morehad the most reasonable rates from the vendors I reached out to and also had a cash discount. The tacos from what I recall were pretty good, the bacon wrapped hot dogs were just okay (smelled amazing), and the Agua Fresca was fantastic. My issue with the service was that they were extremely slow. They were supposed to start serving tacos by 10:30pm. The first plate was not served until 11pm. My guests were standing in the rain waiting for 45 minutes for tacos....I felt so bad!! They also didn't come with lights for under their tent so the cook had to use his phone to see what they were doing. I recall I had a conversation with Tonya specifically to bring lights bc I wasn't sure what the parking lot would be like. The other downside was that Tonya wasn't super responsive. I was a little concerned this vendor would be a no show but I'm glad they did show up. It turns out she was receiving messages but just not acknowledging them, so to me it was a little worrying. The last negative was we did have to provide our own plates and disposables. Overall, I'm happy that we had tacos and that they were satisfying for drunken wedding guests, but I'm unhappy with the service speed, preparedness, and communication up front. I don't recommend going with the bacon wrapped hotdogs - it sounds fantastic but they were just okay and they were also a bottleneck to the process. I do recognize that it was pouring rain, so that must have played some factor.

OMG!!!! I don't…read morereally leave reviews on yelp, (I just use it to find food options) but I have to say something about this place. There was a deal on door dash so I thought I should take advantage of it and I decided to order from this place. Had never heard of it before but I was in the mood for soul food. I looked at the menu and didn't really know what to try, so I just went with old reliable; Fried chicken plate with Mac and Yams. I tried to order another side but each side was $10. So I was like "I'm not paying $10 for one side!" But MAN I should have! My food was INCREDIBLE. I took one bite of the Mac and cheese and it was so good, I set my timer for 4:30am just so I can wake up early and workout. Anything that good, has to immediately be shortening your lifespan. My goodness it was great. The yams were super flavorful and the chicken was juicy and crunchy. And they left me a lil piece of cornbread and even that was delicious. Just all around great experience. Definitely going to see if they can make food for my job Also, I would have added a pic, but someone destroyed my food

I know that the workers are extremely busy working an event like this. Our server was telling us that they were waiting for the chicken to be done. It was worth the wait.

* Who: partner & I * What: late lunch…read more* When: Sunday 2pm-ish * Why: post-furniture shopping hunger * Space/Decor: somewhat small plaza with decent parking. The space itself is large & clean with dark wood/dark tones & splashes of gold in the front decor, & plenty of windows for natural light. It wasn't cluttered, so it gave it an open spaced small hall feel. * Service: There was maybe 1-2 other pairs of people there. The server allowed us to choose our seats, & was average friendly. He took our order pretty quick, the food came out fresh & didn't take long, he checked on us a good amount of times, & we never felt rushed. * Food: we got lumpia, garlic rice, pork sisig, & adobo. The lumpia was crispy & had decent flavor, but could've used slightly more spices in the meat mix. The garlic rice was good/standard. The adobo had a nice flavor but could've used more vinegar IMO. The sisig was perfect & juicy, though didn't come with lemon or egg (though lemon provided on request). * Final Thoughts: averaged price but for sure yummy Filipino food with good service that's sure to hit the spot. Flavor could be stronger in some aspects, but would recommend & would definitely return. * Final Grade: B+ or 8.5/10

Everything was flavorful and perfectly cooked--great variety and perfect for sharing. We also ordered the pancit (bihon + canton) and garlic fried rice to share between four people, and it was more than enough food for everyone. Each dish complemented the platter really well. For dessert, we enjoyed the halo-halo, which was the perfect sweet treat to end the meal. The restaurant itself is huge with plenty of seating, and the staff was attentive and accommodating. We'll definitely be coming back again!

We had the lamb chops when we went for the (super professional, beautiful, immaculate) tasting and fell in love. We knew everyone would love them, and we were right! The shrimp cocktail was divine, and we also had the shrimp aguachile shooters because we couldn't decide between the two. Grilled cheese, bruschetta, and caprese skewers were also a hit because they were so easy to eat at a cocktail hour and tasted delicious. On top of that, Chef Nicole saved our wedding multiple times before it even happened. Any time we asked for something (renting linens, silverware, extra servers), she was quick to respond and provided anything we needed. We even texted her at 11pm the night before the rehearsal dinner because we figured out our chargers were broken. Her chargers were rented out that weekend, but she tracked some down and brought them to the wedding. The day of our event, she was on time, professional, and provided amazing staff. We can't emphasize enough how lucky we felt to have found Cave Catering. We will definitely be hiring them again for our next event. Lindsay and Brooklyn Altar, Long Beach

Even though my boyfriend and I recently moved to Florida, Franco's was the very first place on our list when we came back to Los Angeles for a two-week visit--and it instantly felt like coming home. Walking through the doors, we were greeted like family, just as we always are. We brought my boyfriend's parents and grandma for the first time last Wednesday, and they haven't stopped talking about it since. They're very picky about their food, so the fact that they LOVED everything truly says it all. This time I tried the Chilean seabass, and wow--"incredible" doesn't even begin to describe it. Perfectly cooked, buttery, and full of flavor. And their holiday pumpkin spice cheesecake? To die for. I'm still thinking about it! Over the past year, Franco's has become more than just a restaurant for us. The people here--the family who runs it and the regulars we've met--make every visit feel warm, genuine, and unforgettable. We've created memories here with friends, with family, and now with my boyfriend's family, too. No matter how far we move, Franco's will always be our #1. It truly is my favorite restaurant of all time. If you're in the area, don't walk--RUN. You'll be treated like family, fed like royalty, and you'll leave already thinking about your next visit.

WORSE TACO GUY EVER!!…read more He was over an hour late, with an excuse of running out of propane. When he finally did set up, he prioritized taking his pictures before serving guests. He stayed on the phone the entire time he was serving food. For service of 60 people he arrived alone, and kept leaving the area to get more things from his truck. His food was lacking flavor, the rice was undercooked, and the menu items he posted were not available. As for vegetarian items it was grilled onions THATS IT . *making a note that the birthday girl is a vegetarian and specifically asked for something special. He left after only serving for under an hour. Myself and others left hungry, and heartbroken that my cousin paid for this service. He spoiled a very special night. This taquero really should choose a different profession, because as a taco guy HES HORRIBLE.

***Fraudulent business** I'd give zero stars if I could. I…read morebooked Fiesta Taco Party with Tony off of a friends recommendation and I ignored the negative reviews. Tony has a history of taking peoples money and not showing up to peoples' events. Like everyone has said, pay the extra money, and get an honest person to work for you. I have no idea how Tony has any self respect after what he has done to so many people. I booked with Tony for my engagement party 2-3 weeks before the event, he was slow to respond, but I got a work order/invoice for everything. It sounded too good to be true for the price and it was. Throughout the weeks Tony was not consistent with his communication, but would eventually come through. I paid a $100 deposit to secure the date and he told me everything was good. I had to redo it later because he gave me the wrong email, I got my money back, and had to do it all over again. He said he'd throw in free esquites for the trouble, great. In the contract/agreement I'd pay the rest the day of the event. Throughout the weeks until the event Tony had his details messed up, that I had to correct him multiple times, and sent me the wrong customers info. Whatever, as long as he shows up. So this is where my nightmare begins. On the morning of the event I double check with Tony, sent the rest of the payment, and he said we were good with everything. It was a really busy day for me with the party, so I had other things on my mind. I check with him around 1 pm to verify he'd be there around 5:30 to be ready to serve at 6:30. No response, I text/call him at 5:42, and still no response. I get a call from a different number and it's his son Adrian. He said there was an emergency with the chef and they are on their way and would be there in 10-15 minutes. He said they meant to call earlier to ask if they could push it back an hour, which no one called me. No one shows up and I call Adrian again around 6:22 because Tony will not answer his phone. Adrian said he'd call Tony and get back to me. I never heard back from Adrian again. I text Tony around 6:48 saying if there aren't there at 7 we're getting food from elsewhere. We were over it, my fiancé is crying, and our 30 guests are hungry. We'd still take them if they show up. Tony then calls me so he can clearly see my texts. Blabbering, stuttering, and sounding frantic. Trying to give me a bunch of bs excuses, saying they were on their way, and their 20 minutes away. He said he can't tell me his ETA, says he's in LB, says he's in Hawaiian Gardens, and nothing I'm being told is consistent. 20 minutes pass buy and he then texts me saying they took a wrong turn and it'll take them 24 minutes. Mind you he said it would take 30 minutes to set up and another 30 to cook. So no one would be eating until 8:30 when he was supposed to serve my guests at 6:30. Thank God we have great friends who took everyone's orders for In N Out and we had to scramble for that instead. Tony then says he's having an issue with his driver and they'll be even later. He said he'd refund me and do something to make up for it. But he's just pushing another lie like he always is. Dude never even showed up and single-handedly ruined our engagement party for my fiancé and I. Don't waste your time, money, or energy on Tony. He has zero integrity and can't believe he told me after the fact that he stands by his work. No communication, lies, ruins events, and takes your money. Everyone should stay far away from Tony and Taco Fiesta Party. Pay some extra money for a legitimate business and honest person to cater an event for you.
