I love Luu's but they aren't consistent. I have a small complaint, I like to get the combination chicken and beef, and the beef can be either exceptional or just a chore to eat, what I mean is it was way too overcooked really tough and chewy. Very good. This location has drive thru making it great for us since we were driving through town. It's a little hidden if you've never been there before. It's literally in the corner of the shopping complex. This is my first time trying but the Mr has had before in the past. The Mr used to eat this YEARS ago and he says it's as good as it was 5-10 years ago. Things to note: . sauce comes on the side . you can have teriyaki, orange or hot sauce (may be others but that's all I know) and there is a .32 cent charge for 3oz . hot sauce isn't too hot but it changes the food flavor . portions are generous. I ate half of a combo plate and was super full. . chicken and beef both taste really good. My bf loves this place, we eat here 4-8 times a month. Sometimes more, sometimes less. I know that sounds like a lot lol, but this pace is great for post workout meals. AThe establishment itself isn't nice, it's not dirty or anything, just really old and broke down, but the food is good and affordable. So if you're hesitant to eat here because of the way it looks, I totally get it, but the food is good and I've never had issues or seen any gross stuff lol. I noticed in the last year they've been really skimpy with the ginger and kimchi tho . If you don't ask for it they won't pack it in your bag, that's new, in the 9 years I've been eating there they never did that, plus they Always had it next to the register so you could grab a few. The service was very quick, but I think they should've spent time making the food actually taste good. I ordered "sweet and sour pork" and it was literally inedible. The deep fried pork was very dry and bland. The meat was hard. I've never eaten broccoli so disgusting, honestly. I liked the crunchy texture but the taste is awful. I would say the food is super mild compared to even Panda Express. You can add your own soy sauce and spicy sauce as you like. The beef and chicken were very plain. The beef strips were over cooked and hurt my sensitive teeth to eat. The chicken slices were great and super soft to bite into. They use sushi style rice which I love. They also give you a tiny side salad and you can grab some of the pickled vegetables inside. They have soda and water, didn't check for any desserts. I have come to this restaurant multiple times and it's pretty decent. I normally just get their teriyaki chicken bowl with vegetables, which is pretty good. The upsides are that the prices are competitive compared to other bbq bowl places and also their homemade teriyaki sauce is really good. I came here early today for lunch. I ordered the No#3 combination meat and chicken my coworker ordered the no#1 Teriyaki Chicken. In my opinion our portions were chubby, they way I like it :). We bought a couple of egg rolls and hot wings and two drinks. The egg rolls were good and the hot wings were okay. My meal was good, but my only complaint would be the veggies. I felt they were a bit hard. I prefer them soft and tender. Maybe offering crunchy or soft veggies, when you order your food would be a plus. My chicken was good and the meat was tender. I asked my coworker if he enjoyed his meal and he said yes. The food came pretty quick, mainly because at the time we're the only ones dinning. The place was really clean and the customer service was okay. They do offer brown rice for .50 cents extra if your into that. They also grant one free refill with the purchase of a drink. Ehh closer to 3.5 stars. I came here during my dragon boating trip to Long Beach. I ordered the chicken teriyaki bowl and it came out to be about $6. They give a lot for the price. The thing is that the chicken isn't the best. It was somewhat dry and drenched in a lot of sauce. The meal comes with some rice and steamed veggies.
