I came at 10:15AM on 10/18 when they open at 10AM. The doors were closed/locked. The employee came to the door to ask me if I had questions. I said no, I'm here to purchase something. She then said the store was closed for a private event. She came off as though I was intruding/unwelcome when there were no signs outside indicating that the store was closed. She was so rude & unwelcoming. It's inconvenient for me to drive all the way to lush & waste time out of my day just for them to be rude & closed. I won't be returning. read more

Came in yesterday to grab some of their Halloween goodies because I received a notification about a "Halloween treat" with purchase from the lush app. Unfortunately, lush hq did not communicate with their store staff about this and the sales associate had no idea what I was talking about. I showed them the screenshot and the manager came over to verify that this was not communicated to them. However, she went above and beyond and offered me the free gift anyway, and even threw in an extra bath bomb for the trouble. I really appreciated that she and her staff went out of their way to accommodate a customer and to apologize for the inconvenience of miscommunication. This is a small location compared to the valley fair store, but they are well stocked (they still have the Barbie collection!) and have super friendly associates, so it's worth the drive to shop in store! There are so many good things to say about Lush as an international company: they support strong social causes (look into the Charity Pot lotions) and advocate for eco-friendly actions. Beyond the amazingly scented products, I want to highlight how safe this location has opened: you walk up to a counter at the very door (so you don't actually step into the store itself) and say which items you'd like and voilà; the associate brings the items to you. This might not sound that impressive. However, consider how everything in Lush is colorful, scented or both. These intrinsic features of the products (combined with the fact they're skin care ones), could have been a recipe for a covid outbreak. Nonetheless, this store circumvented that. Yay! I'm a huge fan of Lush already but the store workers Olive and Mark made my recent trip so fun. Olive is so personable and was so knowledgeable about all of the various products. She showed me her favorites and even made me a few samples. I really enjoyed getting to try out the products in learning about how to use them. Olive even showed me how to apply the dry shampoo. After reading about the Lush Sleepy lotion in Mental Floss and its effect to cure insomnia, I called the Stanford store and reserved a tub. It's already sold out online so I'm happy to get one of the last few in store. I'm also really liking the lavender and almond mix of scents. The staff there gave me a generous sample of Dream cream while I was there. I like the store's location as it's close to the parking lot on Quarry Road and you don't have to wander too far into the mall. read more

Had a great experience at LUSH yesterday. The store manager approached me and offered great customer service (I forgot her name ), but she was awesome! She was very knowledgeable about products, but wasn't pushy at all. She asked about my skin needs, and recommended products she thought would work for me. She also sent me home with a sample of a moisturizer in addition to the products I bought. I enjoy trying new products from LUSH and love that they are natural and good for you and even their packaging is made from recycled product. Items purchased: Sleep face (naked cleansing balm) Birth of Venus (jelly face mask) Breath of Fresh Air (toner) I've tried several face masks, toothy tabs, etc. and so far haven't found anything I don't like. read more

LUSH IS AMAZING!! I first discovered this store a few years ago in DC and I could spend all day smelling their products. I started using their bar shampoos when my dad got me one as a late Christmas present in January. After success in eliminating greasy hair for the past four months, I ran out of the juniper bar. I stopped in this location today and the salesperson was very nice and knowledgeable about the different bars. The bars themselves are about $13 and the tin container is about $3. May seem a tad pricey, but worth the money due to the quality and the length of time for use. read more

I was just in the area and decided to pop right in to get some goodies that I haven't been able to get in so long. OF COURSE everyone has to get the bath bombs! But i know what it's like working here so I decided to grab a whole basket and go ham. It's been years since I've walked into a Lush store so I was able to receive AND seek for great help. As soon as I walked in, a man approached me while I was in the bath section and he kindly welcomed me in. I apologize for not getting his name, but he did have distinct eyebrows! There were 2 slits between his left brow. He kindly asked if I was a fan of the bubble bars and recommended The Comforter as it is the fan favorite and most common best seller. One thing I know about working here is to do as much recommendations as possible while balancing to give the customer some space. And he was kind enough to give me some space after I have told him I was just looking around. I appreciate the laughs and smiles this man had because it's important to make a customers' experience welcoming! As I moved up to the face masks, I asked my boyfriend if he would like to do some of the masks with me! So we were looking into the jelly-line and I couldn't help but be fascinated by this new line. So I sought out for some help, and I found Bianca standing there taking some notes of the products. Immediately, she saw me in the corner of her eye and walked right up to me. I asked her what kind of face mask would suit best for the red patches that I have going on in my face. She instantly had the look of empathy and definitely understood my issue! She said that the face masks are mainly for the face to FEEL GOOD. So, she instantly drew my attention to more of a treatment instead of just temporarily making my face feel good. Bianca took me to the facial products where she advised me to try Light Touch, a moisturizing bar that is made to rub on the skin as our natural body heat melts the product. She advised me to massage this evenly in my face for better results. Unfortunately, I did not get this product. Not that it wasn't pitch perfect, but I personally am not a fan of the moist/oily feeling before I go to sleep. Not to fret, she already knew that there must be an alternative, so she recommended the Fresh Pharmacy facial soap bar for a more clean feeling WHILE moisturizing my face and calm the redness on my face. What's funny is that back then, Fresh Pharmacy didn't seem so catchy looking, neither did Coalface, so kudos to Lush for changing the looks of this product. As Bianca let me go take a look see on the rest of the store, she was super nice in popping in between times because she offered to give us samples on some products that my boyfriend and I sat on for a while debating on whether we should get it or not. Honestly, she is a GREAT help! I bought $115 worth of products because of her lol! The staff here is the nicest staff I have ever encountered at a Lush store. I purposely avoid Lush stores BECAUSE of the crappy staff. Instantly some would profile me as someone who isn't going to buy anything, or get angry when I want my space, or continue to push for my attention. I've never written a Yelp review before, but after I visited this Lush store I felt absolutely compelled to. I had never bought anything from Lush before, but I wanted to buy something special for my boyfriend for Christmas. There are so many reasons why this experience was so amazing, so I thought I would list them: 1. I purchased some products online for in-store pick-up. I didn't have my ID with me so I asked if I could come in and show my email confirmation. The woman who answered the phone was so sweet and said that the email would be fine, she even remembered me from the call when I came into the store! 2. When I arrived at the store I decided I wanted to buy more products for my gift, everything they sell is gorgeous and smells amazing! They will have a perfect products for you, guaranteed! The woman helped me pick out a couple more items, which was really helpful as I had never bought anything from Lush before. Her suggestions really helped me and were super informative. They have a lot of products so her helping me really made choosing more products to purchase less stressful. 3. When I went to purchase the additional products my payment wasn't working (Apple Pay), and they went above and beyond to make sure I got those additional items. They were very patient with me and I am very grateful. I ended up making another online order and paying that way, it was really easy and I was so grateful to be able to take those items home that day! Ultimately, the customer service at this Lush location was incredible, above and beyond. The employees were informative, sweet, kind, and patient and that isn't something you come across everyday. This is a great store to buy all your soaps, massage bars, shower gels, hair products, bath bombs, etc. since they use natural ingredients the products are great for sensitive skin(at least that's my personal experience). Excellent customer service. The staff is knowledgeable and will provide samples if you like... they have a few sinks in the middle of you want to try anything. I would say the products are expensive but worth it in my opinion. They quality makes up for the price. My favorites: -shower gel: Rose Jam -soap: Sexy peel and sea vegetable -Massage bar: Each Peach (make sure to buy an oval tin for the massage bar otherwise it gets messy). read more

I have to been to three other Lush stores here in the Bay Area, this one by far from a customer service standpoint sucks. No hello when you walk into the store, no can i help you find something. If you make eye contact with me I'm going to look awkwardly at the floor to avoid having to interact. If you're a sales person you have a little bit of a better job with your customers. It makes me shake my head when sales associates have these attitudes like they are better than the people who come in to spend money. What makes me laugh even more is when you do have stuff and your carrying it around then you want to try be helpful. Please carry on and do nothing just like you were when I first came into the store. Just because you work at Stanford you still work in a mall don't let that go to your head and think you don't have to speak to customers. Learn how to speak up and use your words and be interactive. I'm sure that's what they teach you in training 101. You are a representation of your company but the employees in this store a very poor example. read more

I can't say enough about the Lush employees at this store; that's why I drive 30 minutes to this location. Lush has so many amazing products, but they don't all go with your skin's chemistry. Take their make up remover, its so luscious and contains beeswax, but thank god Adrianna asked me how my skin was. She tried some on me and I discovered it was not the product for my skin. Instead we focused on a remedy for my skin type. I let Adrianna know I didn't want to buy too much, so she focused on Lush products I already had at home. We added a toner, 'Breath of Fresh Air' and now I can pair it with my 'Cosmetic Lad' and 'Don't Look At Me' face mask. This is all for my breakouts, acne scars, and dirty skin from sweating. Corina and Rachel are my favorite employees I've worked with. I trust them and are the reasons why I will predominantly go to this location on good health days. My skin is worth the knowledge these girls have over their products. Corina helped my hair grow back after it began to fall out. Those little Lush shampoo bars are fun to use and when I saw the results of 'New,' I knew I had to keep using it. The cinnamon in this bar stimulates the hair follicles. Seriously, any questions, ask the employees! I think you're golden here. read more

I LOVE this place! All of their products are AMAZING, and there are so many different products. Everything there is great, and the employees are super nice. They let you test the products and they are very helpful and kind. There was a certain product I wanted, but they were out of it I'm the warehouse, I went there twice to check but the didn't have it. The second time, to make up for it, one of the workers gave me a free bath bomb! The products may seem expensive, but they are high quality, handmade, and are really great. I am new to the Lush cosmetics until my friend took me there to the new one at Stanford about a month ago. Now that I have been there twice, each time sales associates thoroughly help me in what I need. They will give you samples to try and let you smell everything! So far I have tried 2 fresh face masks (love lettuce did nothing for me, cosmetic warrior is alright), the tea tree water toner (pretty good), I love juicy shampoo (smell divine, super clearing shampoo, will dry out your hair if used everyday or almost everyday) and the no drought dry shampoo (maybe I'm not putting enough in my hair as I don't want it to feel grimy, but it's not really doing much). Sooooo so far, none of the products I have tried are just UHMAZING, but the ladies are super friendly and chatty and maybe there are some good products and I just haven't found em yet! read more

The service she provided was awesome, she really knew her stuff...she went above and beyond and helped me find the product I needed and then some! While at the purchase counter I was given samples...lol did you know, in less than 2 weeks I was back in there to actually purchase some of the products I sampled....WELL PLAYED :) I liked LUSH before but after this experience at this store I LOVE LUSH wouldn't go to another location. Bad products, bad pricing, inexperienced help. I went into the store to purchase some gifts. They promote themselves as some sort of "alternative" but the products look the same and contain the same ingredients as what I can get at Walgreens, but in fancy packages. The sales help had all sorts of mumbo-jumbo claims that they couldn't explain. Also the popular multinational handmade cosmetics company known as Lush loves to portray itself as an upstanding corporate citizen, allying itself with all sorts of feel-good causes and social movements. It supports terrorist groups like Hamas, supports extremist animal rights groups and now the latest: a campaign to attack Canada's oil sands development, which Lush has labelled "the most destructive project on Earth." You're probably asking yourself - as I did - how a soap company has the authority to get involved in a Canadian energy project, particularly when it has no specific expertise in the field and no hard facts to support its public relations crusade. If you haven't heard about Lush and its holier-than-thou moral crusades, you should - because a close examination of its record lays bare a stunning lack of consistency, and hypocrisy of the highest degree. Lush has no authority to give ethical lectures to anyone. read more

Came in on a Friday afternoon and the two sales associates went above and beyond as I selected a few gifts. I am an old school fan of Lush, and I was so happy when they put this location in. It is cozy, but you definitely don't feel cramped. Unless the store is super busy LOL. The staff is always great. I know my stuff, but they are always there to answer any questions I may have or show me where a new item is. Don't forget to ask for samples!! They are more than happy to send you home with a little container of something to try. From soap to a face mask, it is fun to be able to try something new. They even have demo stations so you can see how a product may work. Also, I LOVE that they have the recycle program. Bring back 5 containers and get a free fresh face mask! Such a great incentive to recycle!! I do wish they had boxes to take a bath bomb or crumbly product in, however. The bags make it super simple, but often times when I get home I find that my more delicate items have been damaged. I mean, it all gets crumbled and used, but it's just nice if you want to display it for a while before using it, or photograph it or something *shrug* The prices can be a little high, but I have found a few staples that I must have that are all under $10. And it is nice that you can request a certain weight or price amount if you want something that is sold by the pound. I have seen people get a $3 bar, and I have seen people getting great big $60 pieces cut for them of their favorite seasonal soap, or a soap that their friend happens to love to give as a gift. I have visited Lush stores all over the world. This is among the worst. I have my favorite Lush products, as most Lush fans do, but most of the fun of visiting a Lush store -- and I'd made a special trip to the mall solely to stop at Lush -- is checking out the products I haven't tried. Alas, the SAs could not leave us alone, and even though there were more SAs than customers and it's not a big store, they kept coming over and offering to help. Help me what? Inhale? It's not like shopping for clothes where you're looking for a size 2 in a cocktail length dress. Finding the right scent is a personal pursuit. I bought the item I came to buy and left. It was an awkward, uncomfortable experience for me and my husband. This is a new store in a mall that pulls customers from all over the world. The SA need to be trained to be polite -- without being weird -- to anyone who walks in the door. I suspect if you are the same demographic as the SA, 20-something and white, you will be greeted and offered samples. Otherwise, you may prefer to buy your products online, at least until they retrain the SAs. read more

All the Lush stores I've been to have excellent service and this store is one of the fine examples of great management. Walking in I know I was looking for a new face mask and one of the workers on floor let me try out two on each hand, Mask of Magnaminty and BB Seaweed. It's that same feeling when wizards at Hogwarts get the sorting hat and find their house, when they find that perfect facemask just for your skin type. I bought my mask and then got my friend to check out face mask while another worker help let me sample their hand soaps, face wash, and rose water. They were patient and also engaged in the customer that didn't feel forced. Would recommend stopping by here if you visit the Stanford Shopping Center. read more
