I'm 1 month post op and I can't say enough of how life changing meeting Dr. Most was for me. I had lived with complicated case of a fractured nose requiring a septoplasty and turbinate reduction-- I couldn't breathe through it for the majority of my life. I was nervous as I had never gone under for a major surgery like this, but Dr. Most and his staff were very personable and made me comfortable the entire time. In terms of results, I couldn't have asked for anything better. My nose looks even better than it did pre-op, it's actually symmetrical! Not only that, the quality of my sleep improved from 70% to 93% according to my sleep tracker. I can breathe so easy now. I had ended up getting a rib graft; pre-op Dr. Most had informed me before as a precaution and reassured me it was the best course of action. I had experienced no bruising on my face and swelling was noticeable but not egregious. The rib recovery wasn't as bad as I thought, very tender and minimal range in the early days but I was able to stop using the pain medication fairly quickly. It can take awhile from pre-op visits to the actual surgery date considering how in demand he is. Once you've established yourself as his patient, definitely use the myHealth app as suggested by his staff. It is much easier to communicate that way instead of phone. We were referred to Dr. Most for a complicated functional revision case. Before scheduling, I explained that we live in San Diego and asked whether the consultation could be done virtually. I was told that I needed to be evaluated in person. I also explained that I already had a CT scan and an assessment from another revision surgeon that I wanted reviewed, but was told the imaging would not be reviewed beforehand. I was reassured that patients travel from all over to see Dr. Most, so I believed making the trip would be worthwhile. We spent a significant amount of time, money, and energy traveling to San Francisco and also paid several hundred dollars for the consultation. Unfortunately, I left feeling extremely disappointed. In my experience, the examination felt very brief. Dr. Most examined my nose in person, but I did not feel that my functional concerns or existing imaging were meaningfully evaluated. I repeatedly explained the severity of my breathing problems and offered to provide my CT scan, but he did not appear interested in reviewing it because his own examination did not reveal a significant problem that he believed he could address. What made this particularly confusing was that before this appointment, another highly experienced revision surgeon, Dr. Robotti, had reviewed my CT and given me a detailed assessment. He wrote that the imaging demonstrated an external nasal valve issue, predominantly on the left, along with septal deviation, enlarged turbinates, and recurvature of the lower lateral cartilage obstructing the nasal valve, particularly on the left. He characterized what I was seeking as primarily functional rather than cosmetic. I understand and respect that different surgeons can reach different conclusions and that a surgeon has every right to decide that a patient or procedure is not a good fit. My disappointment is with the consultation experience itself. After explaining beforehand that I had significant functional symptoms, existing imaging, and another specialist's assessment--and then being told I needed to travel to San Francisco for an in-person evaluation--I expected those materials and concerns to receive a more thorough evaluation before being told there was essentially nothing he wanted to address. I wish I had understood beforehand that the CT and prior assessment were unlikely to play a meaningful role in the consultation. Had I known that, I could have made a more informed decision about whether it made sense to spend the time and money traveling from San Diego for the appointment. read more

He lied in his notes. He said I shouted at him after he politely asked me to remain calm. That's not what happened. what happened was I asked him the same question repeatedly for about 10 minutes and he did not answer and when I gently pointed this out, HE yelled at ME, "I ANSWERED AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN!" because he lied, Dr Pepper would not see me. If the statute of limitations had not expired I would sue him. I am in the process of reporting him to the Medical Board for disciplinary action. Also, he mocked me and laughed at me when he walked in. Also, he has the most incompetent staff I have ever seen in my life by FAR. Just had my final post-surgery checkup appointment with Dr. Most for a rhinoplasty. I could not be happier with the results! From the first consultation, to the day of surgery, leading up to recovery has been a wonderful experience. Deciding to go under the knife at a younger age is pretty intimidating, but I felt safe in Dr. Mosts hands and he did not fail to deliver! I had my rhinoplasty with Dr. Most just a week ago and I honestly couldn't be happier with the experience and early results. I was interested in scheduling a consultation for a rhinoplasty with Dr. Most; however I've been calling his office everyday since early last week and no one would answer. I tried calling different times of the day, and that didn't make a difference. Finally, after being on hold for 15 minutes yesterday, an assistant picked up. While she was respectful and pleasant, she told me she doesn't handle scheduling. It shouldn't be this difficult to get an appointment, and I have legitimate concerns as to how challenging it may be to reach the office for post-operative help or any additional questions I may have. read more

This clinic is full of appointments and phone calls and very hard to talk to a receptionist. I made an appt after trying several months for 3 months later. I drove 4 hours in total to talk to him for only 15min and they charged about $500 for the consultation. Dr. Must was very polite but to my questions, he answered things I already know. There were 5-6 office ladies helping the doctor just for those consultation. After that the doctor said the office will contact me to schedule a surgery but nobody did. I called more than 30 times over a month to finally talk to a office staff. They said someone will check in with Dr. must and call back. They never did. Same thing repeated several times. After 4 months from the initial appt, I still do not know an estimate of surgery nor could schedule pre op appt. It is likely the office's most of profits are coming from those lucrative and easy consultations. He is cherry picking patients who he actually does surgeries. Maybe only those who can be a good advertisement (before/after pictures) so he can get more 15min consultations He can be a great surgeon but it will be very hard to actually get a surgery from him. I have mixed feelings. I came to Most for a consultation and left feeling a bit relieved. In total it took like an hour in a half, but he only saw me for like 10 mins. He didn't seem too confident that he could work on my nose and requested I come back with two letters from other consultations he wanted me to go to, as well as a letter from my psychiatrist and therapist. I drove up to see him from Los Angeles, and I had high hopes that he would be my doctor but his lack of confidence and him pushing me to go to go see other doctors didn't make me feel comfortable with choosing him. Dr Sam Most is excellent. I had nose surgery because of many sinus infections. I had severely deviated septum and large turbinates. My referring Doctor described my case as tricky and complicated and because of that wanted me to see Dr Most. First an excellent job. Very clear communication of what to expect - which is exactly what came to pass. Friendly and great manner. A caution to anyone having any nasal surgery and wears glasses; you can't have glasses on your nose after surgery. So consider that, so no driving yourself from the procedure. After a week -- and I am very near sighted -- I taped the glasses to my forehead so no pressure on my nose. So I could watch TV and drive. read more

I came to Dr Most with a heavy heart as I had already undergone two previous rhinoplasty surgeries, 2010 and 2016. The idea of going through a third would cross my mind now and again and all in all, the thought was overwhelming and scary. I figured if anything could be done, my second surgeon would have tried to address it and if something could be fixed from my first, he would have done it. I eventually came in for a consult with Dr Most and he told me straight from the start what he could do. No gimmicks, no lies, just the honest truth. After a thorough examination and discussion he determined no further surgery was necessary and gave me instructions how to handle and resolve my nasal issues. Short review: I am 3 months post op and I honestly can NOT imagine being any happier. I would highly recommend Dr. Most for so many reasons. Detailed review: I've wanted to get my nose done for years. After years of consideration and understanding my whys I decided to go for it. Prior to my consultation with Dr. Most, I called many surgeon offices and had 2 consults - both with surgeons that specialize in rhinoplasty. I won't go into detail about my other consults but I will say vet your surgeons out and make sure they understand you as a patient and can be honest about realistic expectations. Dr. Most was upfront about expectations and he listened when I shared what was important to me. I was looking for a natural look with the change that would address my concerns. I wanted the hump removed by not so much that my nose looked slopy (for lack of a better term), I wanted my tip lifted without exposing too much nostril, and I wanted the projection decreased. I was terrified that I would end up with a nose that I did not like or a rhinoplasty obvious nose. I am so THANKFUL that my fear did not happen. Why did I select Dr. Most? I researched surgeons on real self. I made a list of the ones with good reviews and then did more research including social media. Dr. Most's Ig page had many posts that indicated he spent significant time perfecting his craft whether that be studying new methods or teaching others. His Ig page was not about popularity but about skill. My unsolicited advice- please do not pick a provider based on social media popularity. Surgery day went smoothly. I never though the words surgery and great would belong in the same sentence, but honestly the day was great. I arrived at 7 am and was immediately walked to the patient room to start the pre-op process. Then off to surgery I went. I have no negative memories from the day. In a strange way I have nostalgic feelings about the day. It was like saying good bye to my old nose and hello to my new one. It was definitely a heart warmed farewell. When I tell you Dr. Most literally copied and pasted the nose in vision to my face, I mean it. I could not be happier. My nose looks different but I still look like me. It's truly a surreal experience for me. I am still in disbelief. The surgery has really changed my life in ways that I did not imagine. I will note that prior to my consult I read reviews about the office not picking up the phone. I too experienced that same issue. I won't lie and say I didn't see that as a negative sign, but something told me to check him out. I am so glad I did. His office staff is pretty busy but they are all so nice. Even if you have an appointment don't expect to be seen until 2-3 years after that because of constant rescheduling and you have no choice about it because this doctor does not value you or your time. Forget about any formal reports of the bullying because all reports are not anonymous and go to Dr. Most because he is head of department. Amazing doctor and staff. My daughter got rhinoplasty from Dr. Most and she is very fair skinned. She has almost no to min bruising. The staff is amazing and called the day after and was so nice to her. But the most impressive is how this type of surgery usually has racoon eyes and bruises, while my daughter had a max of 2 days somewhat bad swelling and almost no bruising. Great doctor!! read more

It took me a very long time to gather up my courage and make an appointment for a perforated septum - on top of wanting to take care of it as difficult it was going to be, I waited 11 months for an appointment with Dr. Most. That's how good his reputation is in academia. I decided to have the perforation evaluated and make the surgery plan + the aesthetic aspects that would need to be addressed. It was long overdue. Dr. Most was the best candidate of the list I put together, I thoroughly vetted surgeons who had multiple successes with septoplasty - I felt like I would be emotionally, and physically, safe with him. When he came into the exam room, he was as kind and pleasant as I expected. Smiles, the pleasantries were exchanged and I knew it was time. I took a deep breath and admitted to things you do not want disclosed to ANYONE. Everybody has a right to their privacy (yes, I am very aware this is Yelp). As soon as I told him, he shut down and shut me out. Said he wouldn't help me and walked out of the exam room. Seriously, that is exactly what he did. If you are in similar situation, consider the unintended consequences that will arise if you tell the truth. I would recommend to look for another surgeon if you have things that require compassion, understanding, privacy and be without judgement - you most certainly won't get it from Dr. Most, but it's very important to have a transparent view of your health with whomever you choose to handle your surgery. Because I was shamed by Dr. Most for telling the truth, I still have not had my septal perforation corrected - I was devastated when he pulled that 180 on me - I shouldn't have disclosed my history. He made me feel like I was sullied, abandoned and not worthy of his skill and prowess. I sat there crying because I finally opened up and told my truth and exactly what I thought would happen, happened. I am a human being with feelings and some very personal information that is probably not what any of you are thinking of - it's very personal - my family doesn't even know. The way he shut me down, I've never experienced it before. This was a couple of years ago, and I have not been to see my GP because she's going to see the medical records and have her judgement possibly clouded and I've been with her for almost 26 years. I haven't done any annual wellness checks, I'm neglecting my own health because I am ashamed. He went from warm and kind to wicked and cold. Dr. Most may perfom successfull surgeries for some patients but that was not my experience. Neither he or his office staff could be reached to respond to post surgical issues. This review solely pertains to my consultation experience and the way Most carried himself and addressed my concerns. For some context, I have been insecure about my nasal asymmetry and struggling with symptoms of what appeared to be a septum deviation for some time now. I also have anxiety that stems from my physical insecurities. Consequently, I did some research and found Most's practice due to great reviews on Yelp, boasting his reputation in the field and great work. After waiting ~5 months for my consultation, I met with a great receptionist and Most's fellow, both of whom were attentive to my concerns. I think it's important to also note that I arrived 30 minutes early to my appointment and after having a 15 minute talk with Most, my total time spent in his office was over two hours. In my consultation, Most was rushed, inattentive to my concerns, and pushed me to select between my concerns, remarking mockingly when I said both were important that it wasn't a "test". Most was placing my consultation into a box of aesthetics OR functionality, and he made it appear as if I couldn't have both. Most's pushing questions about my insecurities brought out my anxiety and he appeared taken aback by my response Overall, I'm sure Most is not typically inattentive and pushy and it was the result of a long day with many patients. However, I do think there is a better way to address a new patients than making them select between their problem areas upon first introduction and rushing them out of the office at EOD read more

After keeping me waiting an hour for my appointment, I was told there was a $250 charge just to have a consultation. Never have I paid a doctor for a consultation. Dr. Most finally came into the room with a matter of fact attitude as if he was giving me the honor of meeting with him. No apology for making me wait an hour. Nevertheless, because the top rated surgeon could not see me for a few months, I decided to proceed. I called twice to schedule but received no return call. I recently met with the top rated surgeon. He also asked my daughter what her expectations were and addressed all her questions. He was easy to talk to and really down to earth. The aftercare provided was excellent. The nurse that provided the aftercare instructions on the day of the surgery was very meticulous at explaining everything. She made sure I understood the instructions and addressed all my questions. I am a retired RN in need of rhinoplasty revision. Saw Dr Most yesterday. Was so disappointed. His office is physically Cold. The furnishing and feel of his office were cold and sterile. I found his bedside manner to mimic his cold, unfriendly office. The office staff were amazing tho. He was not my first consult, but he told me just the opposite of what 2 other surgeons recommended. Rhinoplasty was something I've thought about for over 10 years, and spent about 3 years seriously researching the process and different doctors. Procedure: Septoplasty and nasal tip reconstruction. My medical history is complicated-- born in the 70s with a cleft lip, palate, and nose. With 6 prior reconstruction surgeries, I wasn't sure how much improvement could be made on my nose due to extensive scar tissue, and all of the asymmetry. I was referred to Dr. Most by a colleague of his at Stanford Medical, who assured me that he was absolutely who I should see. My goals were 1) functional- correct a severely deviated septum, breath better, sleep better, and avoid ear aches due to all my improper drainage; 2) cosmetic- would be amazing if this also improved the overall symmetry of my nose. Dr. Most did an amazing job, and I am thrilled with my results, especially given what he had to work with. I am breathing great, and the overall appearance of my nose is normal for the first time in my life. My dog broke my nose when we collided as we were playing ball together. I was able to get an appointment with Dr Most within a timely manner and he advised me that I needed to wait until the internal swelling reduced from my accident. Needless to say, I waited, and boy was it worth it. After the accident I was left with a deviated septum that caused issues with my breathing. Personally, I was never entirely happy with the shape and appearance of my nose so I figured while he is fixing my deviated septum I might as well also get a rhinoplasty. Dr Most was very patient with me and told me what he could do and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. It is now 6 weeks later and the changes in both my appearance and breathing exceeded my expectations and I honestly couldn't be happier with the outcomes. I went to Dr. Most for a revision surgery to fix my deviated septum as well as rhinoplasty. He developed a plan that involved a rib graft to fix my septum and to subtly change my nose shape. Before the surgery, I couldn't breathe out of the left side of my nose and it was affecting my sleep and ability to exercise. Now I can breathe so much better and my nose looks better as well. The results are both natural and functional, which is what I wanted! Even after just a few weeks, the scarring is minimal and the swelling has gone down dramatically. My fear was that I would have to wait another 3 months to be able to see him. Amy gave me a call and was able to work something out. Since then, I unfortunately have had to re-schedule multiple times, and again, Amy was able to make things work out. She always answers the phone with a positive demeanor and never makes me feel bad about having to reschedule. In the past, I have dealt with offices that are very rude when you call them multiple times or have to reschedule multiple times. This is not the case with Amy. I was suffering from allergies,sinus infections, deviated septum and a longer, larger nose. I found Dr. Most through his glowing reputation. What's stood out to me was his compassion friendliness and extensive knowledge. Dr. Most performed rhinoplasty he corrected the deviated septum he made smaller the glands inside my nose and built up the bridge of my nose. I no longer take allergy medication or suffer from sinus infections and my nose looks fantastic. I recently returned to see Dr. Most for heavy saggy dry eyes. He performed eyelids and eyebrow lift. I look and feel amazing! I no longer suffer from dry eyes. People tell me I look 15 years younger when I tell them my age most don't believe me. I came to Dr Most a few yrs ago. I was interested in a rhinoplasty. I wanted to go to the best and online I saw many good reviews so I decided to come and get a consult. I had to pay $150 for a consult which I think was ridiculous. When I met him I didn't appreciate him having some random guy in there the whole time when I was getting my consultation. I'm not sure if he was a student in training or what not. But, you should at least ask your patient if it's ok with them or at least let them know who this random person is that's standing there the whole time. I didn't appreciate that. That was disrespectful to me. He seemed like a nice guy. But he seems to only deal with difficult cases not much aesthetic. It all worked out well though because I went elsewhere and couldn't be happier. Oh and the front desk receptionist girl was also rude and obnoxious. I dont know who hires these moody, rude girls to work the front desk. Its not like it was a free consult. I paid $150! Learn some customer service skills. read more

I could not have had a better experience with Dr. Most. Throughout my entire life I have had a horrible time breathing through my nose, especially at night when trying to sleep. The cause of this is a severely deviated septum that blocks almost all airflow on one side of my nose. This led to an 18 year addiction to Afrin, which at one point I was using every couple hours. While I managed to quite Afrin at the beginning of this year, absolutely no medication was able to help me breath. I finally decided to take it to the next level and consider a Septoplasty, and I heard from multiple sources that Dr. Most was the best surgeon for this in the bay. I was a little apprehensive at first since I had a challenging nose for a septoplasty (and you can make yourself paranoid reading about all of the risks and surgeries gone wrong), but Dr. Most and his team was always able to put me at ease. On the day of the surgery everything went flawless. Every person that I spoke to at Standford that day from the receptionist to the nurse that discharged me was friendly, competent, and positive. I woke up from the surgery with absolutely no pain or side effects from the anesthesia that was used. The crazy thing is I could breathe through my nose immediately after the surgery. I didn't even realize that I had stints until I got home. While there was some pain during that week after surgery, it was nothing like what I was expecting or read about. Now for the best part. After getting my stints removed, I was able to breath better than at any point in my life (including when I was medicated with Afrin). As a true testament to Dr. Most's work, 2 months after the surgery I came down with a cold and I was STILL able to breathe out of my nose and sleep at night. My only regret is not doing this surgery sooner. Dr. Most really changed my life. Even my most optimistic expectations were exceeded! read more

Dr. Most and his team were simply fantastic! I had surgery to fix a deviated septum which I've had for years. I'm a veteran and generally I'm supported through the VA Health system. Let's just say that it was a very different experience for me at Stanford Medicine and during my interactions with Dr. Most and his staff (much better!!). They set the bar high! The surgery itself was a life altering experience for me. I can now breathe through both nostrils! The biggest changes post surgery are: it helped me sleep better and it also makes it much easier to breathe at exertion and while at higher altitudes. Dr. Most and his team were consummate professionals throughout the entire process. The surgery was quick and successful, they assisted during the recovery, and they also made sure to answer all of my questions. A year later, my results are better than ever. I can't recommend him enough. His work is so subtle and yet so transforming.

I would stay away from this clinic. I've made a few appointments with dr. Most about doing a procedure and each time it got cancelled for a different reason. Yup I believe the negative reviews about how disrespectful they are to patients and their time are 100% true. I gave this clinic a few chances and waited patiently for my appointments until today when I was supposed to have a video call and they made me wait 30 minutes so I called from another line to see what's going on. The receptionist said dr. Most would like to reschedule again!! I consider this a red flag! read more

His bedside manner puts patients at ease and his skills in the operating room will put a smile on your face. Dr. Most is my choice for any cosmetic surgery.
