I have been going to Lush on and off for 10 years and they have severely gone down hill. I went for the first time in a few months to get an SNS manicure and they did a TERRIBLE job. Within 2 days one of my nails chipped while unbuckling my seat belt. When I went to get it fixed they put on a different a color and when I told them it was not the same they argued back. They then made me pay $5 for getting ONE nail fixed. Very next day, another nail chipped but I refused to go back. Never going back here to get my nails done. read more

I came in to get a mani and pedi. I walked in and stood at the desk and the people at the desk continued working and ignored me until I said something. They took me back to work on my nails they brought be a bowl full of acetone for me to dip my fingers in to take my old sns powder off. I requested that they wrap my fingers individually to do my soak off because when I DIP MY ENTIRE HAND IN A BOWL OF ACETONE it irritates my skin. They refused to do it. They literally said no we're not going to do that you just need to put your hand in the bowl, it's going to take too long. It takes 5 minutes to put acetone on a cotton ball and wrap it in foil on my fingers. The manager just started shaking his head no and walked away. No, sorry for the inconvenience nothing. I'm pretty sure had I been a White woman this wouldn't have occurred this way. This is a service I get done at EVERY salon in Atlanta. Go somewhere you will be respected as a customer. I have tried this salon 3 times due to convenience and proximity to my house, but this last time was the final straw. I rarely get my nails done in salons like these because I prefer to support local black nail techs, but I usually go to salons like this for pedicures. The first time I went was fine. They had some snide comments, but I gave them a pass because most times when I go into Asian owned salons they do that, not knowing that I understand and fluently speak their language. The 2nd time I went I had a completely different experience. I had broken a nail and requested to have it fixed. Any good or reputable nail tech should be able to tell what kind of tips you have on by looking at your nails. The nail tech that was supposed to be fixing my nail attempted to put some 90's style curved tips on my broken nail, when I clearly had straight tips on all the rest of them. When I pulled away and pointed out the very clear difference, they said it was all they had. Are you so desperate for money that you'll just do anything to my nails and hope that I don't notice?! I told them to just forget it and I'll take my money elsewhere. I continued with my pedicure, which was fine. I went to checkout and it was more expensive than it usually is. I asked them to break down the cost and apparently they had changed their price for gel polish add ins in the past 2 weeks. I paid and left. Today, I walked into the salon which was pretty busy but not THAT busy. I stood there for 10 minutes before my presence was acknowledged, AFTER a white woman walked in and was greeted and seated. When I was finally acknowledged with a very cold and rude "what do you need?", I told them that I just needed a soak off and was told it would be a 30 minute wait. I said okay, thank you and turned around and walked out. The rude man said yet another snide remark, thinking that I didn't understand. I will never patronize this business again and will be sure to turn away as many black women as I possibly can. I am in love! With the Boy, of course, and I already knew how I felt about Sandra, my best-ever nail lady, but after today's visit to Lush, I am all-in with my favorite place in town. Sandra always has a special concoction for me - a scrub and/or lotion, and today I got a double treat- a lavender-scented exfoliating scrub, and a lotion that went with, scent-wise, but didn't overpower. Heavenly. Boyfriend requested I get a French pedi - ok, sure, no problem - if he notices that kind of thing, I'm happy to oblige! - and I didn't really know what to expect as I'm a pink-to-red kind of girl by default, and a coppery-to-brown kinda girl in winter. The occasional OPI Russian navy. . . but I'd never done a French (or an American French) on my toes before. And I must say, it is beautiful!! So clean and sleek - she used the most delicate touch for the "white" part (we went with a little off-white since I'm so pale and we agreed it would look better) and added just the sheerest top coat of light pink. I love it! Mom and I definitely agree that these were the best pedicures we've ever gotten - Christy, who's as nice as Sandra, did hers and Mom was in heaven with all the leg massaging and thrilled with the results. Lush also does waxing, massage, etc. They also have two adorable "kid" chairs- with these cute animal heads on top of them and kid-friendly size and colors, to keep the younger customers happy! I've never seen this before but it's genius! Done and done. I asked the technician politely twice to warm the water as she was filling the tub(it was cold). She never acknowledged I was talking to her and walked away. The third time was the icing on the cake when again no acknowledgement and turned to clean the tub next to me. I put my shoes back on and walked out. Yes- she spoke English because as l was walking out she was telling me she was coming back to warm it up. I was about to head on over to my regular nail salon but decided to search the area and read up on some reviews by other Yelpers of nail salons in the area. Lush came up at the top of the list so, off I went. I got there on a Thursday in the middle of the afternoon, thankfully they were not busy and took me to my chair right away. It was a little hard drinking up considering I also had my nails done but a little foil on my fingers didn't stop me! A little maneuvering around with a crisscross action of my arms, did it! And the occasional help with lifting the glass to my lips from one of the ladies...helped the bubbly get down nice and easy. I wonder if the name Lush has any connection to the Alcohol?? The massage chair was a whole different experience in itself. After the Attendee left to get my drink the chair got to going. I have never sat in a chair that not only does the usually, vibrating, jiggling, deep back penetration but this chair did something extra. It started firmly rising and dropping down below, up under my backside?? Why?? I didn't need to be caressed like that in front of everybody, especially about to drink it up. I felt a little violated. I told them that part of it had to go, I'll just have the regular please! Gelish nail polish is my new thing, hence the foil on my fingers. Came in Saturday night around 6:30p for a full set and pedicure for a birthday celebration I was attending later. The tech who did my pedicure was amazing. The tech who did my full set needs more training.. on non-paying customers. I asked for almonds shaped nails, and ended up with a horrible job. Each nail (incl. nail bed) was shaped differently.. my cuticles was destroyed.. uneven buffing and terrible paint job. When I informed the nail tech that I wasn't satisfied with the job she insisted that they looked fine to her and mentioned that she was trying to get home to her daughter. I got a basic manicure and pedicure. We sat in the pedicure chair with no water for 20 minutes and once they added water that was all it was WATER. They advertIse scented water and all I got was H2O. Really quick and clean job! I got a basic gel manicure. I was in and out in under 45 minutes which is incredible on a Friday afternoon. The only reason I gave it a 4 stars instead of 5 is because it was $35 for a basic gel manicure and there was nothing that they did or had in there that would make me expect that price. I have visited this salon quite a few times. Last visit, two days ago, the manager actually did my nails. (I did not know until I asked to speak with a manager) I got a mani pedi, short square French tip. Simple enough I thought. I'm very non-combative esp. in salons so I let him do his thing until he went to add topcoat and I asked "can we straighten the lines up some?" He said "they are straight", he "fixed" two nails and proceeded. When I came in, I said "I want the same nails I have, filed down. Nude pink/white French". He did clear French. I paid and left after he loudly said "okay I won't charge you for the French", while I'm *whispering* "I don't like this. What can we do?" He swiped my card and said "ok". I asked "how do I tip?" I have been a regular at Lush since I moved to Atlanta in May. I get my nails done every 2-3 weeks or so and I always go to Lush. I went in to get an SNS manicure. First the color I selected ended up being much darker on my nails than it looked in the container. When I voiced my concern they told me that I was wrong, which was frustrating. They did try to help fix it which I appreciated (and tipped for!), but ultimately they did very little to actually help the situation. The manicure took about an hour and half to complete and in the end looked extremely sloppy with the dip all over my fingers. I asked for them to fix it, and it took forever, and they took too long and I had to leave. During the entire experience I was obviously very unhappy, and I never saw any sort of quality customer service. After eating at the Flying Biscuit my girlfriend and I went to Lush for a Mani/Pedi and to get some waxing done. The nail tech's speak english to each other. It was awesome! The tech's pay a lot of attention to detail. I got gel nail polish on my hands and feet, I didn't want the OPI Brand Axxium (it tends to peel my nail off with it) so they showed me a number of Harmony Gelish colors. NO JOKE this manicure lasted 4 weeks, and the pedicure is going on week 7!!! It was the best mani/pedi I have gotten EVER. If you are in ATL and need a mani/pedi go to LUSH. I'm staying 30 minutes away, and I'm driving to get my nails done here! Also I had an eyebrow wax and bikini wax with Cindy, she was REALLY good. I have visited Lush Nails three times this summer & it's pretty much the only place I go for manis & pedis anymore. The place is super-clean for starters, the staff & nail techs are friendly (and yes, they all speak English - some better than others, but you definitely won't be subjected to 30-minute-long conversations in another language while you have your fingers and toes done.) The lighting is well balanced, not so bright that you feel like you're in an interrogation room, and the pedi chairs are big & plush with zillions of massage settings and recline options. The techs are really meticulous and I always leave with beautiful, perfect nails on hands and feet. I personally don't find them to be expensive - I think it's $15 for a basic mani and $27 for a basic pedi - and you especially will get your money's worth from that pedicure technician. My feet aren't abnormally callused or any worse than the average girl's, but you'd think I had hooves when you see the effort these ladies put into getting them smooth and pretty. (But I haven't visited a ton of salons Atlanta and I usually don't have manis/pedis more than once a month - so it could be that these prices are steeper than expected in the area &/or what other Yelpers are used to paying.) I've always just walked in & never had to wait, although I have gone on weekdays (and during the day, not at lunch hour or after work hours). So far, every time I have gone they've done the mani & pedi simultaneously and I like that - get in and get out quicker. They mostly use OPI polishes and have a diverse array of colors available if you aren't in the mood for the pink-red-coral spectrum. Oh, and if you have errands, you can probably get most of them done right in this area - dry cleaning, Red Bandanna pet food, Caribou coffee, a couple of restaurants, and Publix across the street. read more

This is the most relaxing nail salon I have ever been too. I almost fell asleep getting a simply manicure. Maybe it was only this relaxing because I was so exhausted before coming. I passed by this salon the other day, and could not find the price online, so I stopped on the way home just to see. A manicure is $15, which seems to be a normal price for a simple manicure. They had several regular polish colors to choose from, and also several gel colors to choose from. The manicure took about 20 minutes and they looked perfect, even after 2 days, they still look perfect, which is pretty rare for me. I've been twice and both times they did a good job. First time gel polish change with Tammy. She did a good job, dark color so easy to tell if good or bad. I'm really picky to start. I love that you don't soak to remove the old gel. They wrap your fingernail/tip in cotton and hold with foil. Yuri did good job on cuticles. My nails were filed to different lengths (that really bugs me) but when I pointed it out to her she fixed them. They ended up much shorter than I wanted but looked ok. She did great job on the polish. None onto cuticles, even etc. I'll try her again for sure. It's by my work and they are nice, BUT not worth $46's!!! I love that they use hand warmers. I don't love that she didn't pay attention to what I said. It was almost like she didn't want to be there, but who really does. I have black polish all over my fingers and dents that I pointed out, but she just told me a shower will wash that away. Really...why can't you wash it away and at the end she didn't due the usual oil on the cuticles so my hands look dry from all the alcohol she used. I asked for a heart since its Valentine's Day but she started on the wrong hand and it looks so bad I just said no to the ring finger.
