July 25, 2026 - Oak Creek, CO While taking the scenic back route to check out Stagecoach State Park after we left Steamboat Springs, we stopped at Lupita's (17 miles south of Steamboat). The outdoor patio was a great place to relax, with a DJ providing live music and a fun atmosphere. I ordered the house margarita, and it was excellent--fresh, flavorful, with just the right touch of spice. We were planning to stay for lunch, but the Colorado weather had other ideas. Out of nowhere, gale-force winds, rain, lightning, and thunder rolled in. We quickly placed a to-go order for two tacos, and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. Despite the wind whipping through the open kitchen, they cheerfully prepared our food and got us on our way. By the time we made it back to our campsite, the tacos were still warm and absolutely delicious. We only wish the weather had cooperated because we would have happily stayed longer--and I definitely would have ordered another margarita. Great food, friendly service, and a memorable stop. We are driving home to Colorado Springs and got hungry and pulled over to eat. So glad we did their food is phenomenal! I got the breakfast burritos and they're wrapped in bacon and you can ask for your bacon cooked however you like and oh my goodness they have such phenomenal flavor. There's eggs, potatoes, peppers, cheese yum! Quesadillas excellent And they have homemade pico de gallo, which is outstanding And the guacamole is perfectly mixed! The churros are so good. Cinnamony, drizzled with chocolate and filled with a custard that just all goes so well together. If you're traveling through this town, I highly recommend that you stop and eat here. The food is fresh, service is friendly and the ambience is upbeat and hip and there's lots of seating outside. I highly recommend that you eat here! read more

Pleasant staff working there. The food was great! We had the tacos and churros. We are from Texas and they make the Tex-Mex a little different. But every state is a little different. Still, it was DELICIOUS! We will definitely be back again when we are in the area. It is a charming place to eat. Lots of Mexico vibes with the decor. It is a busy place. I ate a chicken burrito and it was just awesome! Huge portion stuffed full of chicken, rice, avocado, and more. My friend had the pork quesadilla. It is also filled with beans, rice, cheese & pico de gallo. My hubby and I split a burrito - thank goodness, cuz it was a MONSTER. We had beef and pork mixed together. OUTSTANDING! After finishing up a day of paddle boarding at Stagecoach State Park we were in the mood for a delicious lunch! A state park dining sign pointed us to the direction of Oak Creek, CO and we were so glad it did! We happened upon Lupita's Cantina and the outdoor San Diego-like surf vibes lured us in immediately. The outdoor atmosphere was perfect for a warm summer day's lunch (and bonus also great during this mask-wearing-stay-away-from-other-humans time of Covid-19)! We had a roasted veggie (deliciously pressed/toasted) burrito, shrimp tacos and Colorado pulled pork. They were also very accommodating to our diary free needs! The pork was the most moist delicious pork we have had, probably anywhere. The shrimp was lime infused and the veggies were charred to perfection. We were so happy with our meal we went back to order another pork taco and a dairy free ice cream pop. We can't wait to go back. We asked the owner and they are only open (as of right now) Memorial Day to Labor Day. So if you're in the Steamboat area, be sure to check out Lupita's! We devoured the food and didn't even have time to take a photo of it, oops! read more

Driving from Avon to Steamboat Springs and stopped at this roadside Cantina. Sitting around the ramshackle bar that exuded tropical ambience gave us a chance to hang out with some locals and learn a bit about the area. The bartender/owner was friendly. Our tacos and burrito were delicious and the homemade sauces were a pleasant compliment. Hope to make it back soon. read more

This is probably one of my favorite taco places ever! It was so cute and everyone was very nice! I had the chicken burrito, only took about 10 minutes come out and the place was full!! The food was so good and I couldn't get enough, after the first day I went I turned around and had to try something else the next day!! I wanted to love the food, because the vibe and atmosphere of this place is amazing. It reminds me of a real side of the road Mexican Taco stand. The food even looked really good when we saw it on others plates. The service was great and we liked all the people who we interacted with. The only real problem is that all the meats we tried on our tacos/burritos (chicken, fish, ground beef) were all way under-seasoned. Everything just wasn't as flavorful as it looked and everyone in our family of four felt the same. The sauces were pretty good, we especially liked the beet one- but even the sauces lacked a bit in flavor. I love Habanero and I expected the Habanero Carrot one to be spicier and a more flavorful. I'll be back again next time we are in Oak Creek and would like to try their burgers. If they can get the flavors right- that grilled burrito could be as fantastically good as it looks. read more

Ehh, I was excited to try Lupitas but it didn't do much for me. The mahi mahi did not taste like it was seasoned at all and was very very watery. It almost tasted like it was boiled in water, for too long, and then went directly into the tacos without any seasoning. There was just tons and tons of water. I did like the homemade hot sauces though, they were delicious and made the fish tacos taste a lot better. Overall, the meal had a lot of potential but both the beef taco and my mahi taco were highly under seasoned. As for the environment, it's a fun outdoor setting that's a perfect quick stop on the way to SteamBoat or wherever you're headed. read more

Stopped at this cute outdoor eating establishment based on the recommendation of our river rafting guide. Great place to stop. We all ordered different entrees and everyone liked theirs.
