I sent them pictures. they called back told me that there is nothing out of the ordinary there and gave me an estimate of $450.00 about. my bill was $712.00 about 63% over the estimate. I realize that it is only an estimate, but I would think that anyone that has been in business that long could give a better estmate than that. the work was good, but it was supposed to be good. the plumber, dave, was on time, but he was supposed to be on time. when I told dave that the estimate that they gave me was $450.00 he said I didn't tell you that. it was rob that told you that. is that the way they operate? I guess so. they did it to me. rob is what they did to me. BAIT and SWITCH. this work was done 2/9/23

Plumber did not inspect the pipes, use a snake camera, or take anything apart on either visit. Visit #1: Showed the plumber the source of the dripping by turning the shower water on. Plumber was convinced it was a loose faucet, so he put caulk around the seal and told me not to use the tub/shower for a day. This obviously didn't work. Visit #2: Leaking persisted the next day when testing the water. Plumber came out, but I was unable to make the drips occur (although there was water on the floor of the basement and in a bucket). Plumber said there is nothing he could do - Did not inspect or diagnose anything. Called another plumber and it was a misaligned rubber O ring on the tub drain (new construction home). Five Star Plumbing left me with no real work done and black fingerprints all along my hallway and bathroom walls.

Besides getting the run around with missed appointments, extremely high prices and service call fees (For an Estimate!) I was at the end of my rope when I got a call from Generation Plumbing Inc. They saw a post I had made online and offered up their services. I explained what I needed done, and Gene quoted me on his labor. VERY AFFORDABLE. I made the appointment and not only was he on time, he arrive 10 mins early. My wife showed him what needed to be done and he went right after it. Within 2 hours (time quoted) he was done. Actually he finished 15 minutes ahead of schedule. He explained what he had done, showed me the parts he had to put in (i did not have all the parts needed). Final bill 100 bucks. Awesome. To put this into perspective, other "so called" plumbers (I like to refer to them as crooks) wanted to charge over 300! I explained the problem. He checked the programmable thermostat, then the furnace, did an electronics test and found some part malfunctioned, a solenoid, I think. He showed me the electronic test and I saw the failure register. He retrieved a new part from his truck, had it installed in less than 15 minutes, rechecked the system and performed another test and pronounced my furnace as being cured...for now. WHAT?? Yeah, he informed me this was usually the part that failed a majority of the time and based on what I briefed him on, he had a pretty good idea what the problem was. Anyway, he cleaned out the dirty furnace, buttoned it up and wrote out the bill. I paid him and he was gone - all in just under an hour....and the house was warming up. Yeaaa!
