Locally owned by the nicest couple. I'm always impressed with the bravery when restaurant industry veterans take the leap of faith to start their own restaurant and build on their dreams. My friend and I both visited for the first time for lunch. We were the only ones here and I was shocked because they have a great menu with plenty of options. If you're around Florence or Burlington KY give them a try! The food is delicious and I hear the steaks are out of this world and locally sourced. Don't forget they serve lunch! Come on Northern KY, support local and enjoy great food and exceptional service while you do it.

We decided to stop and grab a bite on the way back to Kentucky from Ohio, but wanted a local place. We found it. First off we were not asked where we would like to sit (the bar or at a table), although we figured out towards the end of our meal the bar must be for regulars only. We were seated along the wall that was already full of people. Just made it a little harder to be heard. But the bigger issue we had was the servers talking either to another employee, or manager or owner, unknown who he was but he and his companion both got up and down a lot and entered the back of house area. As well as a lot of talking to staff. Which was one of my issues when o needed something. The interior of the place is very plain and generic. I was very unaware that this was a tequila bar until I saw the name on Yelp! Now for the important parts... the food! First off we told our server that this was our first visit and we were from out of town, and asked what she would recommend. Her answer reflected the whole menu, and nothing specific, although she did start with the steaks. We ordered the hushpuppy appetizer ($7). We both opted for a burger, her the Stack Burger - 2 Small Patties Topped with American Cheese. Mustard, Lettuce, Tomato and Pickle with fries($10), and a side of slaw! ($3) Me the Luna's Burger Chorizo Sausage, Bacon, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Pickles and Cilantro Aioli with fries($13), and a side of the Street Cob - Grilled Cob Smothered With Home Made Aioli topped with Parmesan cheese and seasoning ($3). The speed in which we received our food was impressive considering the chatting with the other table! Our server did not deliver our food the bar tender did! The hushpuppy appetizer came with 9 1" size bites very good choice! Nice savory bite with plenty of herb / onion flavor! We opted to get plain ranch as they are served with a jalapeño ranch ( mouth would have loved but stomach not so much!) First off the stack burger was billed as excellent and cooked well! It states on on the menu all burgers cooked to medium well! The fries are also served with every burger, although we did not ask if there was the ability to sub a side. They were hot and fresh and had a decent hold time! The slaw was excellent as well just with there was more of it! (It was kind of fluffed up so there was less in the vessel than there normally would be). Second the Luna's burger was also made well, but not quite as ordered. I had requested that I not get the cilantro aioli but the same aioli that came on the street corn side. I worked on my fries the street corn and some of the slaw as we were sampling each others sides! I got the the burger and it had no aioli at all, and I sat waiting for the waitress to show back up to inquire about it. She very flatly said they did not have anything but the cilantro aioli. But instead of explaining so I could inquire about mayo or mustard they just sent it out with a dry bun! I did receive mayo and a bottle of mustard (that felt like it had never been cleaned after it had been to other customers tables!) after dressing the burger, the taste was excellent! The combination of chorizo and beef is always an excellent combination! Not dry (even after waiting to be eaten), I believe it could only be better with bread and butter pickles instead of dill but either way excellent! The street corn was good but both great, as well as one side of it was charred pretty bad but still ok! We did not opt for dessert, and had unsweet tea and a Dr Pepper as I was not a fan of the tea, which was cloudy and not really a tea flavor! Total for all was $44 before tip and well worth it! Not one employee was visible when we left, the whole staff was in the back... Would we go back? Yes! I just hope the service gets a little better and the staff works a little better instead of only talking the their regulars instead of assuming the new customers would not become regulars! I decided on a 4 instead of 3 stars mainly because the food was so good and a surprise! We kinda expected a typical bar food scene but we're pleasantly surprised!!! Just fix some of the other things!!!!

We tried a new place last night and it's a welcome addition. It has a little bit of everything but the food leans toward Mexican. I tried the el pastor tacos with cilantro and onions. Authentic and very good. The Mexican mule came in an clay jug and was delicious. My husband had the steak with sweet corn on the cob and rice. Overall yummy and the owner Cici is so nice and always smiling.

Stopped by Luna's initially because I had fundraiser card that gave me $5 off any purchase of $25. It was Sunday late lunch about 1:45 and there was a few groups eating lunch when we came in. The outside reminds of maybe Cheddars or a middle class restaurant and the inside is pretty basic. The menu is pretty delightful and the service was good. I had the fish tacos ($15) three delicious tacos but, no sides sadly. My daughter has the kids chicken tenders and it was all day happy hour ($5 margaritas) so I had a margarita. Overall pretty happy with the experience. We may return again.

It's definitely a hidden gem. I had 3 shrimp tacos, and my husband had the Luna burger. Both were great portions. Highly recommend this spot. Great variety on the menu as well. They also have a menu for lent with great fish items.

Chips, salsa, Queso

Taco Tuesday is the best way to get an idea of their flavors of tacos. We did one of each half Mexican style, half gringo style. While some of the flavors bordered on bland, the habanero salsa helped! I think the chorizo may have been most flavorful. With its unique flavor I'd like to see it combined with the Queso to add a little taste to it. The house margaritas were tasty and the staff friendly enough. With taco Tuesday deals, it was a good price and we will definitely go back and try a couple entrees. Intrigued to try their tequila/cake tasting!!!

We started with queso and chips. Queso was cold. We ordered a variety of food . Fish tacos were gross. My husband got the burger he said it was the worst burger he had ever ordered out. Tasted like a frozen patty. This meal was awful and way too expensive. Save your money and go somewhere else. One good thing was the waiter was very friendly. Also they don't give you to go drinks.

Chorizo Fries

Went to try Luna's ordered the pictured Chorizo Fries and an order of El Pastor Mexican style tacos. Service was friendly and attentive. No real change from when it was Miyoshi to decor. Food was unfortunately very average. Toppings on Chorizo fries were very light, fries themselves were good. Meat in the Mexican style taco was very dry and tuff. We have a plethora of excellent Mexican and Tex Mex Restaurant's. So they are definitely in a tough market segment.

This is a picture of their front entrance you can see this sign only from Houston road entrance

This place must be a well-kept secret it doesn't have the most ideal placement for restaurants in the area but if you're seeking for something that's very good within the budget ... Our waitress was very pleasant and nice and she recommended the cake and she nailed it it's the brown butter cake it doesn't seem like much at first until you taste it and then the flavor builds more and more as it's in your mouth it's amazing just like how butter melts in your mouth The flavor just erupts in your mouth.... So much so as you can see we bought another one to take home and that's normally not what we do.... The things we had was perfect we didn't complain about a simple thing and usually we have something to say that we don't like but we couldn't think of a thing that we didn't like..... The fries have a special breading on it not sure what it is but it's sweet but light..... The sweet potato that my little one got He's usually picky with food and he ate every bit of it Even my other picky child ate everything.... So do yourself a favor and check this place out The sign is not on the front it's next to skidoodle The sign would be facing Houston road and it's in between the Mexican restaurant and 859 definitely choose this place over the other two

Cheese quesadilla - not on the menu but they were happy to accommodate our request!

And, doing that, you end up discovering new awesome places. That's exactly how we came cross Papa's Bourbon and Beer House. Never would I ever have found this off-the-beaten path bar and it's adjacent pizza joint. On Wednesdays, they host trivia from Last Call Trivia. If you haven't done, what are you waiting for?!?! It's fantastic. If you are concerned about the viurs, know that they have an open patio for seating, and signs that suggest you must remain seated during your stay. Not a lot of crowding or mixing is going on, in other words (inside at the bar is another story). Our trivia host was awesome. Our server, Jordan, was too. They have a pretty good bourbon selection and my SO is a bourbon fan. I had the peach smash, which was refreshing, tasty, and perfect for a warm summer night. Our pizza, from next door, hit the spot. I'd love to go back and try the pizza fries, the antipasta salad, and the wings. So, yeah, I'm a fan. I'm not sure how the bar is on a regular night. YMMV.

The beer selection is definitely lacking, both draft and bottle. They seem to concentrate more on bourbon and cocktails, and unfortunately I'm not a big fan of either. So this place just had a weird vibe - the decor is beautiful and upscale and from the pictures on…read moretheir website, we kind of thought we needed to dress up a bit. But no. This is basically bar food in an expensive looking setting. We both wanted to order their chicken wings, but were told that they only had 10 wings left. Which was puzzling since the place was relatively empty. And speaking of that, we made a reservation online thinking the place would be hopping for dinner. Not so much. I had the taco el pastor. It was good but was basically pulled pork on a corn tortilla with bbq sauce. I also ordered the Brussel sprouts which would have been really good if they weren't drowning in white sauce. I recommend asking for all sauces on the side, btw. TVs on the wall all around the dining room are tuned into blooper reels and trivia. All in all, the menu wasn't intriguing enough for us to want to go back.

Tucked away in Villa Hills, it has quickly established itself as a "hidden gem" that defies traditional categorization--part sophisticated lounge, part high-end bistro, and part soulful community hub. The design of Sanctuary Social is its first masterstroke. It captures the paradox of being "upscale-casual"; you'll find plush velvet sofas and warm, modern lighting that evoke a high-end city lounge, yet the energy remains as approachable as a favorite dive bar. The addition of live music on the weekends elevates the space from a mere eatery to a destination, providing a vibrant backdrop that feels both intimate and celebratory. It is a "sanctuary" in the truest sense--a place to disappear into for a few hours. The kitchen leans into "Elevated American" with a focus on fresh, high-quality ingredients and shareable plates that encourage conversation. Small Plates & Boards: The Artisan Meat and Cheese Board is a standout, curated with a level of intentionality often reserved for dedicated charcuterie houses. For a more modern bite, the Fresh Tomato Bruschetta with whipped burrata is a bright, creamy essential. The "Handhelds": The Wagyu Brisket Sammie and Wagyu Brisket Elote Tacos showcase the kitchen's ability to take casual comfort food and apply premium techniques. The brisket is consistently tender, balanced by the acidity and creaminess of the elote corn salsa. Craft Cocktails & Mocktails: The bar program is formidable. Their seasonal cocktails (like the Blackberry 75) are balanced and inventive. For those seeking non-alcoholic options, the Blackberry Lemonade Spritz or the Jalapeño Lemonade offers a complex profile that far exceeds standard soda fare. Sanctuary Social is the kind of place that Northern Kentucky has been craving: a spot that respects the craft of food and drink without the stiffness of formal dining. It's a "destination" restaurant hidden in plain sight, offering A1 surroundings and a menu that hits its mark with precision. If you haven't made the drive yet, you are indeed missing out on one of the region's most compelling new additions.

Instead, I got something shocking... Actual great pizza!!! The wood-fired crust comes out blistered and charred just enough to whisper, "I went to Italy for a semester and didn't come back with a man bun." It's crispy outside, chewy inside ... the kind of texture that makes you forget every sad, floppy chain pizza you've ever eaten in a strip mall next to a vape store. The toppings? Legit. We're talking San Marzano tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, hot honey, and fancy meats that sound like they have their own passport. And here's the real shocker: It's not pretentious. Nobody lectures you about "mouthfeel." Nobody asks if you want your pizza "deconstructed." Nobody serves it on a wooden plank shaped like Vermont. It's just seriously good pizza ... the kind that makes you say, "Wow, maybe civilization isn't collapsing after all." And the wood-fired flavor? Smoky, slightly charred, and rich...like it was baked by a Tuscan grandmother who also owns a flamethrower. The owner just showed me their home made pasta dish for the Friday in Lent. Looks amazing!! Thank you Patrick for the tip!!
