We were driving home to Olympia WA from Sacramento when the air conditioning in our Honda CRV…read moreintermittently quit working on an unseasonably warm day. We were spending the night nearby when I found this shop and called to see if they could fit us in. We showed up early and they took our car in to recharge it. We were able to wait in their comfortable waiting area with our dog. After about an hour we were told they did the recharge, but in doing so they discovered a valve that needed to be replaced. They said if we could wait, they would replace the he valve (part was about $70) and recharge the system again at no additional charge. Unfortunately it would have taken an hour or more for them to get the part and additional time to install it, but we had a long drive ahead, so we couldn't hang around to get the repair done. What I appreciated was the clear explanation of the problem, their willingness to get the repair done that day, and to recharge the system again without charging us. We have been having the intermittent problem for a few months so the valve going bad made sense. I wish we could have stuck around for them to do the repair, but it just wouldn't work for us. It's always nice to encounter professional, trustworthy auto repair shops, especially when traveling. I recommend Kelly's if you're in the area and need a reliable shop!

Long time multiple BMW owner and enthusiast here, first time customer at John's Auto Care…read more I had a tricky CAN buss (computer) problem and didn't have the diagnostic software or patience to resolve the fault, so I needed expertise. Jeff found the problem in a timely manner and recommended that the instrument cluster be sent out their preferred sub contractor, VDO repair; this was a BIG MISTAKE! Four weeks to get the cluster back! The initial problem was remedied, however; now the on-board clock cannot be set and the temp gauge pointer was installed incorrectly. I attempted to contact VDO, but apparently they have gone out of business. The repair work order indicated that the 'trouble codes' had been cleared, this was not the case. For example, I am at a loss to why a persistently malfunctioning 'check engine oil' idiot light on the cluster was not discussed. I know what the root of the problem is and would have agreed to a repair. I can only assume that John's does not want or need my business. Bottom line: the shop is very competent and focused but not particularly concerned about the timeliness or quality of the repair. I had incorrectly diagnosed the root of the problem and am very pleased that Jeff was ethical, truthful and accurate with the process, thus saving me a lot of money and frustration.

Gills Point S Tire & Auto Service - Medford - Tire chunking

Gills Point S Tire & Auto Service - Medford

I don't usually leave reviews, but this experience with Point S Tire & Auto Service was too…read moreconcerning not to share. I bought a set of tires from them for about $600 (almost $900 installed). In less than 10,000 miles (about a year and a half), the tires started showing visible tread chunking and abnormal wear. When I had another shop look at them, they estimated the tires had already lost about 50% of their tread life, which is extremely premature. When I first brought my vehicle back to Point S, they told me I needed a rack and pinion replacement and quoted around $2,000. That didn't sit right, so I got two additional opinions. Both confirmed there was no issue with the rack and pinion. When I returned and told them this, they said the original diagnosis may have been a mistake and that they could have confused rainwater for a fluid leak. That explanation alone was concerning. They also dismissed the tire wear as normal, despite the low mileage, visible damage, and feedback from other shops. They did not offer meaningful help with a warranty claim or take responsibility for the situation. At that point, I lost confidence and chose to go elsewhere. Between the incorrect $2,000 repair recommendation and the unwillingness to address what appears to be premature tire failure, I would not return. I strongly recommend getting a second opinion if you're told you need major repairs here.

After they charged my deposit, they suddenly "couldn't fulfill the order," yet made every excuse possible to keep the deposit rather than just cancel cleanly. It feels less like a tire shop and more like a trap for anyone expecting honest service. If you like paying for nothing and arguing for refunds, this is your place. Otherwise, take your car and your sanity somewhere else.

First off, I don't leave negative reviews unless I've been misled or wronged by the company, which…read morewas the case with Crater Lake Ford/ Mazda. Tanner Newcombe was my salesman. In 2024, I purchased a "lifetime oil contract from them for $995. One year later, I traded in that car for new CX-50. Tanner had me sign a cancellation form to get the prorated refund from my trade-in. I was told I'd receive the refund within 90 days. Needless to say, the $709 never arrived, and it's been 6 months! To make matters worse, he convinced me to buy a new oil change contract on the new car for another $995. I was misled and lied to by Tanner and a manager named Brett P. I've been emailing and leaving messages for Tanner, yet he never gave me the courtesy of a response. After my recent purchase, the dealership wanted me to review Tanner. I mistakenly gave him a positive review, which I now regret. I will either revise that to reflect my recent experiences or complete a new one naming the staff involved. This brings me to yesterday, when I drove the 40 minutes to address this with Tanner. He said he never got the VM's or emails I left, but would investigate and send me a Docusign to process this refund. I asked if I could just sign the form again while I was there, but he had another excuse for why that wasn't possible. I waited 24 hrs and the DocuSign never came. I've had enough of their lies. Since Tanner didn't follow through once again, I called to speak with a manager. Brett P. told me he'd do some research and call me back. Brett called and informed me that the cancellation paperwork was never processed, with no explanation as to the reason why or who is responsible. Brett told me I just needed to call their third-party vendor, DWS, and they'd mail my refund directly to my home. That didn't happen either. Before I hung up, I asked Brett if I could call him back should I have any more issues, to which he agreed. I tried calling Brett back x 2 and left him a voicemail explaining what DWS is requesting. I've yet to hear back from him or anyone from Crater Lake. DWS is adding additional roadblocks, requiring a hard copy of my cancellation request and proof of loan payoff. I was never provided with this documentation, so I'll need to drive in again today to get these documents. I've been inconvenienced one too many times by their sales team and management. Here's my recommendation after buying 2 Mazdas from Crater Lake in the last two years: *** Drive the extra miles to buy from another Mazda dealership in Eugene or Brookings, if you don't want to end up with buyer's remorse! Their sales team is the most unscrupulous group of individuals I've ever encountered. Don't make the same mistake I did, you've now been warned ***
