Where to begin…read more.. Allow me to preface this by saying that this aging Lady was once a Holiday Inn. Some of her rooms have exterior entrances, and some have interior entrances (facing the interior of the hotel, which has a hot tub, a pool with slide, workout room, ping pong and pool tables, arcade games, and mini golf course). There are two floors of rooms, interior and exterior, a cash-only bar, and a convention space (which, at the time of my stay, was hosting a cornhole competition). Our room was on the first floor, interior entrance (facing the pool), the farthest away from the front of the hotel without actually being an exterior room. While the beds were immaculately made up, the air conditioning (in reality, Central Air) couldn't blow a dandelion. But it was cold enough to call all the penguins into the room. It was a couple days into our stay when we found out the HVAC system hadn't been serviced in almost 10 years. The tub drained slowly during a shower. As in, it was ankle deep the entire time a person was showering and would take almost 15 minutes to drain completely. The TV and remote didn't work, so they had to be replaced with working units from another room that was "under renovation". A foot-wide strip of carpet that was directly abutting the tile for the bathroom was constantly damp for the duration of our stay, with no known source of the dampness. The outlet next to the sink kept tripping if anything other than the hair dryer was plugged into it, which was sad because, even though I have hip-length thick hair, I never use hair dryers. On their website AND their marquee, they touted a laundry, a pizzeria, and an Indian restaurant. When we arrived, we found out that the laundry had burned down, the pizzeria had closed, and the Indian restaurant had moved to Odessa. The jets were taken out of the hot tub leaving it to bubble wildly like some witch's cauldron on full boil. The pool is marked, at the deepest, as 5ft. That is a lie. At the 5ft mark, I have to tread water, and I'm 5'8". My friend is 6'6" and, flatfooted, his head was above water. This kind of mislabeling can be dangerous. Housekeeping was practically non-existent. Some days out room was tended to; some days, it wouldn't be. Sometimes it was done early in the day, sometimes in the afternoon, sometimes in the evening, sometimes not at all. The room next to us had some sort of wailing Banshee-like creature camped out inside that would commence to shrieking every morning beginning about 0600 and not stopping until about 0900. Every morning. I would already be up before this, but the other 2 people in the room would still be trying to sleep. So, for however long they were trying to sleep, I was looking up information on how to get rid of Banshees. Apparently, we were the only ones that heard it. Spooky. The managers and the owners were rude, condescending, and treated everyone as though they were beneath them. When we checked out early due to a family emergency, there was NO ONE at the desk at 0530. We were walked past by some sort of staff member, even acknowledged, but when we called out for someone to help us check out, there was no response from anyone. The only light in that Pit of Despair was Joseph. He was a veritable treasure trove on where we could go to eat, wash our clothes, the best true Mexican restaurants, the closest Walmart. He did it all with a smile on his face, even bearing the brunt of the bullshit from the managers and the owners. Personally, I would keep Joseph and get rid of the owners and managers, have him be in charge of a whole new crew. He was one of the reasons we stayed.

After being treated the way I was treated by the front desk staff I wouldn't stay here if someone…read moretold me it was a life or death situation. You do not book a property, be sent MULTIPLE messages about a $50 deposit, then are demanded at booking a $100 deposit. You do not get HUNG UP ON by the front staff by insisting on a manger, nothing else but being said you want to speak to the manager, and would only leave your name and number, which is the only that that is important, not a further message because you know it would not be given if you did. EXCEPTIONALLY rude and beyond disbelief. I in fact WANT my $800 back because that type of behavior is not okay. I am VERY VERY UPSET. Now if I had been cussing or calling them names I could see being hung up on, but simply insisting they get the manager because this man at the front desk refuses to acknowledge the plain and simple truth of the information I have is NOT OKAY. This is going to every type of review AND the BBB because treatment like this will never be okay. ETA: please be my guest? Asking for a manager because I already knew he could not help me with something that could have been handled by the manager? All I did was insist on a manager. All I did is say he could have my name and number but no further message cause he was already rude. I didn't hang up on him. I didn't cuss him out. I didn't call him names. So what exactly do you think this recording means? It will only reinforce I was of course agitated that he refused to reach the manager I should have had a right to speak with. It will also reinforce HE hung up on me, because I knew he could not help as he was already unhelpful before a phone call. Your reply again reiterated the need that I wanted a manager, I could have yelled or cussed but I did nothing wrong in demanding a manager over a front desk clerk. Thanks anyhow. It may mean nothing to you but it will mean plenty to anyone who has also been treated this way as I have now seen plenty of other comments about the front desk staff.
