I saw Luna therapist and tried to use their app Aug and Sept. '23 (I'm saying this clearly because Luna has a way of reacting to negative reviews by saying that the review is based on problems that occurred months or years ago, and the problem has been fixed. As you can see by the reply posted below. It was posted within 2 minutes of me posting this review. It's an auto-reply, And total BS. Luna has no qualms, apparently, about blatantly lying on a site like this.).
The thing with Luna is they have a variety of PTs, and no on-site supervision, so your experience will vary with the PT. My PT was good in some ways but stunningly bad in others. Much of it was basic communication which I thought would get better as we worked together, but didn't. I gave up on her after 5 visits. In hindsight, I should've told her sooner that this was not working. But I kept thinking she'd respond to my needs about communication.
She was remarkably reluctant or unable to give me an exercise plan (something all other PTs I've dealt with ALWAYS do!!) -- I said it didn't have to be thru Luna app, that she could assign general online exercises that she thought were appropriate, but even though she's only in her 40s, maybe early 50s, said she was too old for that technology to assign exercises via links she found online. And she said she couldn't find on the app the exercises she wanted me to do (!!!!) .
Oh yeah, the app, I don't know about its exercise selection. Don't know if that was a problem with my PT or they really lack good exercises for my issue.
But you HAVE to use the app on your phone, you can't access app info from their website on a PC. So this is an issue if you care about privacy, but also means you have to view the exercises thru your little phone screen, and you're typing messages to them and your PT on little phone screen. Allowing people to do same access via a website vs. just phone would be a basic improvement, but they don't offer that.
But I felt most of the issues were with that first PT, so I decided to try Luna again this Oct.
I immediately ran into roadblocks with not just the PT and the app but now with the company. I stupidly tried to make another appt. with Luna because the concept of PT coming here was still appealing to me, and then I was still thinking problem was with that therapist.
Got appt. right away, and unlike the other 2 therapists, Luna did or attempted to schedule with me before, this one actually had a web presence. They were listed as working as a PT at other places. Looked good.
Unfortunately this PT not only cancelled before our first appointment, but I was told he was no longer available at all (!!!???)
In the logistics and communication of trying to schedule another therapist, everyone from Luna was telling me different things about criteria for scheduling. I complained -- calmly, politely, reasonably -- about the inconsistent information. I was then told no one available in my area so try somewhere else -- see who my doc recommends. This is definitely not true. I live in an area with plenty of PTs. Luna just doesn't want to hear about issues with how they are treating clients.
Stay away from Luna. Save yourself some grief. read more
