    Shrimp Tacos with Onions

I had the Shrimp tacos, they serving size is huge and could be good for sharing. The way they serve is very unique, you make it your own. Our server was great and very friendly. The place is not a typical Mexican restaurant it is more of a different vibe.

It's been a hot minute since I have dined here, but we popped in on a lovely Saturday evening and they happened to not be slammed so we were seated immediately for a table for two. I had the Enchiladas de Queso while my husband had the Luna Maya salad with flank steak. He said the meat was marinated nicely but the salad itself was pretty benign. My enchiladas were flavorful. I opted to have the red sauce on one and the green sauce on the other; so just know that is an option per our server's suggestion. The ambiance was nice. I feel it can tend to get loud in there but so many guests were dining outside that it wasn't too loud inside. Still a favorite place for a nice vibe, consistent food, and good service.

Was immediately seated. Seats are modern and clean. I got corner seat, good view to the bar and other seating. Very loud. Server was friendly, she had several recommendations: I ordered the steak chimichurri, served with dipping sauce, no sides of even micro greens. Am giving 3 stars for the food. The dipping sauce was super salty! Almost inedible .

This is a really nice place to have an intimate date or dinner out with your partner. Great menu items for sharing too. My only qualm is that it gets ridiculously loud. The echo is crazy. Unluckily I also had a really loud table behind me and that was a mood killer. I still recommend it but you'll prob get a better spot if you reserve ahead. We just walked in. It's a really big space and a bit dark in the evening.

    Tacos de Carne Asada

So about Luna Maya... This place gets 3 stars because the staff are all so nice and attentive to everything going on. The decor is beautiful, a little artsy/industrial vibe. It's pretty dim inside which sets the mood for an intimate dinner. There is also outside seating. The experience was well worth it. About the food, respectfully it wasn't bad. But was it better than going to your average Mexican restaurant and spending half the price? I honestly couldn't say it was. The carnitas had such a "different " taste to them than I'm used to. The meat wasn't shredded, all though tender it was still somewhat dry at the same time. I believe that is because they use a more lean cut of pork, but if you're getting authentic carnitas it's going to be fatty. It's not meant to be a healthy option lol. I tasted the carne asada, nothing really special in my opinion. One size margaritas that were way too sour. The chips and salsa are not complementary and the chips tasted like they came out of a bag. Maybe I was expecting more because of all I've heard about this place and I traveled from across the water. I hate to leave a review that doesn't shine the best light but people should know what to expect. I did enjoy my time here, with the company I had and the wonderful service. If I do come back maybe I'll try the brisket instead.

Luna Maya was pretty good. I enjoyed my meal, but it's not somewhere I'd go again. The tamales...hard pass. It said sweet & savory, but it was all sweet. The meat had a strong cinnamon taste, & it was sitting on a bed of sweet mashed corn (maybe a sort of cornbread situation?) I'm not entirely sure what it was, but it wasn't a tamale. The guac was delicious. I wish we'd gotten the guac for a crowd. Our server said the single portion would be enough for 4 people, but we all wanted more after we finished it. The enchiladas de queso were good as well, but I've had better. The flan was the highlight of the night. It was rich & creamy. I loved it. The tres leche just seemed like a vanilla Bundt cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes that sat in a pool of condensed milk. Overall, it was fine, but it was expensive for what you got. I'm glad I tried it, but once was enough for me.

Norfolk staple restaurant I recommend to all in and out of towners. Best skinny mojito and Bolivian inspired Tamales around; other faves are the chips/guac, chorizo queso, chimichurri steak app, and mushroom poblano quesadilla. Indoor and outdoor seating, open for dinner only, staple margarita/mojito menu and rotating beer taps (happy hour on select weeknights at the bar). On street parking, typical Ghent.

Yum! Everything here is delicious and fresh. The guac, the sangria, all of it! It looks closed from outside, so it's a little hard to find but 100% worth it. The servers/hosts are quick, friendly, and well versed on the menu. When deciding between a marg and the sangria, our waiter got us a sample and helped us pick the perfect meal. I will absolutely be returning.

They have Alfredo, nachos, Mac n cheese, desserts, and smoothies. Some of the food is reasonable and some is pricey. A few desserts were $10-$15. I wanted to try them, but not for that price. We placed our order and looked around the store. They have updated the store/restaurant, so it's a more modern vibe. You can read books or hang out inside, so that's cool. The restroom was clean. There was plenty of seating to dine in. The store side sells books, crystals, jewelry, and more!! The cashier and cook were both very friendly!! I'm not vegan so I stick to what taste familiar to me to be safe. The chili is good, you wouldn't even know it's vegan. Definitely get the vegan nacho cheese to kick it up a notch. It also comes with chips. The alfredo came with veggies and kush. I'm glad it was saucy. I got it fully loaded so it came with a hash brown on top also. It was pretty good, but could use a little more seasoning to elevate the taste.. The last time I ate here the portions were a little larger, they seem to be noticeably smaller this time, so that's the only difference I've noticed. The kush usually confuses my stomach for a few days afterwards. It also may make you feel full faster but, I think it's worth trying. If your a vegan you should check them out, but even if you're not you can probably find something to try! Check them out!!

Each sip brought back such sweet nostalgia, reminding me of the butter pecan ice cream my parents adored. And let me tell you about the sweet potato cheesecake--it whisked me right back to my Southern grandmother's kitchen, blending the comforting embrace of her baking with the delightful taste of cheesecake. I savored these heavenly desserts for nearly a week, relishing every moment!

A few years ago, they opened this location which has a bar and dine-in service. Sophia and I joined a friend of ours for lunch on Saturday. Let's see how the event turned out. I happened to place a reservation for our table the previous night, but since there weren't many people present, it wasn't necessary. The staff greeted us when we walked inside and got seated immediately. The decor inside was really nice. There's artwork abound, a bar and even a foosball table. Simply put, you should not be bored at a place like this. After looking at the menu, we were all ready to order. I selected their cabbage stew with chicken as the protein with plain jasmine rice and sweet plantains. Overall, the food was good. The stew was presented with medium spice so it definitely had my lips burning (a great thing) and the rice was well cooked. The plantains had flavor, but I felt it was overcooked. It has been a minute since I've eaten plantains but they were always a bit soft. The stew did have plenty of chicken but it could've been cut to slightly smaller pieces. Still, the meal had yours truly full and I did takeout. So did Sophia and our friend. All in all, I had a really nice time. The hospitality was really nice (the owner actually came to our table to check on us) and the food was plentiful. Oh yeah, we even had a robot bring our food to us. How cool is that??!!
