GETTING HERE:…read more Located inside the liquor store next to Popeye's, on the corner of Gonzales and Ventura Road. Don't blink or you'll miss it! REVIEW: All the hidden gems are gifts from Yelp! And, from a co-worker! Didn't know this place existed, but so glad it's on my radar now. First-timer, so I was totally green as to what to order. My chicken and rice (I don't recall the official name) was delicious. And, the soup is incredible too! The service was excellent, and while she probably laughed at my naiveté, she was gracious and helpful. There are few tables inside the liquor store to eat, but I feel this set-up is conducive to delivery service or pick up your order, to-go. I really do recommend The Green Olive. Very tasty food! (I did notice the Dubai Chocolate and it caught my eye, but the price was $15!)

The upgrade came with a free drink and the guys threw in another drink at no charge. I also added their spanakopita and the baklava at the end. The portions were huge and even 2 adults and 2 kids couldn't finish everything. The Lamb gyro wrap was delicious, topped with multiple sauces and veggies. The lamb was just brought out and tasted very fresh, juicy, savory and delicious. The french fries was very yummy and the spanakopita was super crispy on the outside and very soft on the inside. The baked spinach filling tasted superb. To finish out our huge meal, the baklava did the trick. It was also super fresh, pretty hot temperature-wise and the nutty filling tasted very yummy. The spot itself is spacious, has many tables of a cool light-blue color. The customer service was excellent. The guys working there went above and beyond to make sure my family was satisfied. Great spot and no wonder it's ranked very high on Yelp. Well deserved! We'll be back for more!

We have tried many other places just trying to recreate green olive. No one compares. We came back today before our (7hr) drive up home. And it was amazing. Busy staff and orders. Food takes a minute so place your order and walk around the market. We always find goodies. The food tastes just like it did all those years ago. Forever customers anytime we come down and any excuse to come to The Green Olive. I've…read morebeen to this plaza many times I've been to all the stores next to it and used to come here when it used to to be another business. To be totally honest, I was a little bit intimidated by how the process works. But I assume caught on that. It was almost like a chipotle kind of style place. I decided to go with a bowl. I was able to choose between three types of different bases, and I went with the basmati rice and the couscous was able to choose a couple of salad options as well. Luckily, we were able to mix and match since I can never make a decision on getting All three types of greens that they have. Then moved over to the hummus section and I was able to get the three most popular hummus flavors, which I actually don't remember what I got. I know one of them was an olive flavored one and another one was a little more spicy. Then over to the protein side of things, you can mix up to two different choices, and some of the other options there is an upgrade fee. Then removed over to the toppings and these are all unlimited and so I was able to get feta cheese, tomatoes, olives, purple cabbage, everything was so endless and amazing At the very end, you're able to choose two different kind of sauces and at the very end, my bowl was actually pretty heavy in weight but most importantly it was very delicious Thank you to the team member here that was very helpful and walked me through the process. I think I might've been too overwhelmed. Otherwise I might've just opted for the burger which I may still have to try next time. The sweet potato fries also look very good and I will have to try those next time for sure. There's a ton of parking spots right outside. I always get the Gyro Plate ($22) and it's very good! The meat is perfectly seasoned and the gyro tastes very fresh. Also love the seasoned fries. I've also tried their spanakopita and it is very good. All in all, awesome place to go! Great local business to support.

After the long drive from Joshua Tree National Park to Ventura, plus a completely unnecessary but…read moreemotionally necessary detour through U.S. Route 66, we arrived tired, hungry, and operating mostly on fumes and determination. We checked into our harbor hotel and ordered takeout from The Greek Mediterranean Steak and Seafood, which turned out to be an excellent life decision. First challenge: surviving the parking lot. I don't know who designed that little maze, but I emerged victorious eventually. Once inside, though, the place had a great energy. A dance floor, a DJ spinning genuinely good tunes, and massive windows overlooking the harbor like the restaurant knew exactly what kind of mood we needed. Service was fantastic. Our order was ready on time, and they also made me a dangerously good Negroni to go. Honestly, if someone hands you a well-crafted Negroni after a desert road trip, that's practically an act of community care. Back at the hotel, we spread everything out on our balcony overlooking the harbor while the sun set, and suddenly life felt very cinematic. We ordered the Sampler for Two, which included lamb chops, falafel, loukaniko sausages, spanakopita, dolmades with avgolemono sauce, tzatziki, hummus, hot pita wedges, and a Greek salad. Basically, a feast disguised as takeout. Everything was delicious. The lamb chops were flavorful, the falafel crisp, the spanakopita flaky and rich, and the whole spread felt generous and thoughtfully prepared. Portions were large enough that we saved the hummus and tzatziki for the next day, where they heroically returned as cocktail snacks. A true encore performance. This meal didn't just feed us, it restored us a little. Good food, great atmosphere, harbor sunset, Negroni in hand. Sometimes a travel day ends exactly the way it should.
