Unfortunately this location of Lunas has gone down hill in recent months. Its been taking over 30 min for them to make a breakfast wrap even when they are not that busy they seem to just forget to make it until I have to remind them that I ordered it. I love the other location and have no problems with that one, but this location just isn't as good it seems when it comes to service. read more

First and last time there, the Monroe Ave location. I was shocked! One of the workers making and serving food was in pajama pants and it looked like she had sat on her dog! All hair, sick! And even more shocking that none of the other employees told her about it, everyone had to see it. Messy hair, no uniforms, microwaved food, not even hair restraints. I can deal with the long wait, microwaved food, and other uncomfortable oddities, but not the unhygienic conditions, yuk! read more

The house jam was so yummy, worth every penny! Service was fast and easy, no issues at all. It's on the louder side of coffee shops but there were still some people getting work done of their computers there, so it's still doable if that's the kind of environment you're looking for. We had another patron offer to help us which was very sweet. So we checked out a menu (that the other customer gave us) and then went to the counter. Stood there for, no joke, 3 or more minutes and not one employee would even look at us or at least say "we will be with you in a moment". Blah. The aesthetic is super cute! I regret not buy any of their merch while I was in town. The menu is a bit overwhelming, with lots of options! I opted for an eclipse smoothie and a latte. The employee was patient and helped me decided on a "honey lavender latte" which was so good! I appreciated the flavor, light sweetness, and that I could still taste the espresso. The eclipse smoothie was alright. It was really tart? Both times I visited in the late morning/early afternoon and the line was long. **I docked one star for the smoothie, the line moving slowly at the register, and then drinks taking a while to come out after order. I'm from out of town and went to Luna today. It is a very cute place with quaint decor. This is definitely a place for locals! It was a little hard to figure out some of the menu because most of the items didn't have descriptions and there was a line so I didn't want to bother the barista. I got the Iced Vanilla Rose Latte, and it had no flavor of vanilla or rose. Otherwise as a general iced latte it was decent! I also got a sesame bagel with veggie cream cheese that was super tasty! Beautiful shop and a nice menu selection. Three stars is for the service. The baristas were pretentious and snotty to me, which is funny considering this is DePere, Wisconsin. I mean, really? I grew up in this area. People are generally extremely kind and salt of the earth here so what was this about? Add on that we were brought the wrong drinks twice before the right ones showed up. I would have just waited at the counter for ours but she insisted it would be brought to us. Just weird. I still tipped 20% because these are tough times in the service industry. Only issue I have is how a lot of items aren't on any sort of menu, which frustrates me a lot since it was my first time coming in. The place: Lots of seating, mostly two person tables with a couple bigger tables scattered about. There's a high top bar facing one brick wall, and on the other side of the seating area too. At 2 o'clock on a Thursday, there aren't a lot of seats available, but if you've got a good eye, you might be able to catch one. There's also seating in the roasting area if you're looking for some place quieter. Local art hangs on the walls, and it looks like there's a retail/gift area close to the counter (mugs, coffee beans, etc.). The location: Main street in De Pere. Parking out on the street. We didn't have a problem parking, but I could see it being difficult during high traffic times of day. The service: Kind and efficient! We were taken care of right away and our coffee was HOT. The food/drink: Black coffee was solid quality. Easy to drink without loads of cream and sugar. A bit dark for my taste, but a good dependable cup. SUPER cheap. Your in house mug will run you 95¢. Biscotti are a revelation. The chocolate almond was perfect. Just the right amount of rich and sweet. Perfect. Next time: I'm getting a muffin because those look so tempting. Cafe Luna is pleasant little coffee shop in historic downtown DePere, right on Main Street, just west of the Fox River. I came in out of the cold (well, a slight Fall chill) and ordered a small cup of the house blend. It's a medium roast coffee, roasted right in the shop in a roaster that can be seen from the counter, if the door is open. I sat in a comfortable, overstuffed chair in the sunny front window (the storefront faces south) next to a St. Norbert College coed who was so wrapped up in her work and music that she didn't even notice me. Several students were working on laptops or tablets, along with locals reading or schmoozing while enjoying Luna coffee. I did not partake of any of the available schnecks, but there is a nice selection of goodies available to enjoy with your coffee. I don't get to DePere very often, but when I do, I'll be sure to stop in at Cafe Luna! read more

Gave this place a try twice. Very cute cafe, I enjoyed the interior and "mood". However the baristas I've encountered have been dismissive and rush me even though it isn't busy. The food we got was really tasty. I got a roast beef sandwich and the bread was tasty and the ingredients tasted fresh. It was well put together. My coffee is where it went downhill. I've been in the coffee business for 6 years and upon watching the baristas pull shots noticed that they sat for over 30 seconds before being poured. This creates extremely bitter and dirty tasting espresso. Burnt shots = awful coffee. I would've loved to try my normal coconut latte with a correctly pulled shot. I'm sure the actual espresso would be great. I was also disappointed to see that both times my milk was extremely overly frothed. I generally open my cup to drink my coffee without a lid and noticed my coffee was about 3/4ths full at this point with still more foam. Disappointing since I had the same problem both times with different baristas. Seems like either baristas aren't being trained long enough or fully enough or they're just not paying attention and don't care about the product they put out. The coffee is good but if you want a refill you have to go to the counter. It is very good overall but the experience is a little different. With a comfortable atmosphere, great service, and good coffee, Luna earns your patronage. Though the menu is not extensive, there are several options for regular coffee, frappes, and smoothies. If you're into mochas (hot chocolate and espresso), then you'll have a good amount of options for flavor additions. There's also a small selection of baked goods, mainly cookies. On a short stop in during my travels, I got a honey latte and a caramel mocha latte. The honey latte was good, but lacked any strong flavor from both the honey and the espresso. (I was surprised neither jumped out at first taste.) The caramel mocha--called the Carmelo--was delicious. I asked the barista if the caramel would take over the mocha, and she said the shop's hot chocolate was not strong so the caramel would give it a little sweetness. After tasting the weak honey latte, I decided that would be good. The caramel mocha is dessert in a cup. It's served with a kiss of whipped cream on top, which adds to its decadence. If you don't have a sweet tooth like I do, you may want to shy away from this. I enjoyed it, though again, the espresso flavor was not very strong. Once it cooled down a little, you could taste it and the flavored together were yummy. The baristas were extremely kind and helpful in finding the drink you want. They made both of my drinks very well, and the head barista brought each right out to me in the lounge area. I also got a mug, which one of the baristas wrapped up nicely with tissue paper in a bag with the shop's logo on it. Luna has a really relaxed atmosphere with plentiful seating, filled with pillows and comfort. The aromas envelope you, along with sunshine flowing in to the room that has warm yellow walls. You can see the roasters through the back doors, too!! You can even sit at a couple tables on the sidewalk in the warmer weather. A downside is parking, as Luna is situated on an incredibly busy main street. It took me a solid 10 minutes waiting for cars to pass to get to the other side of the street where I found a parking spot. There's no crosswalk in sight from the door. Overall, I really enjoyed my brief stop here. If I lived in the area, I would definitely stop back in to try more!! read more

So many options, so little time. I felt compelled to try the 'regular' coffee, after my bout at Karavina the day before. The hand-made mugs were really unique and made for some nice two-handed coffee drinking / hand warming action. If we'd hung out long enough, we also could have been privy to some live coffee roasting action too. But time was of the essence, and we had just enough of it to sit around sipping and eat a couple of Toby bagel sandwiches. I ordered the southwestern version, and kind of regretted not getting the quiche I saw on a nearby table. The bagels were the best part of the sandwiches, and really would have been good on their own with a schmear. Quite a find- coffee roasted on site, in a historically preserved building from the turn of the 19th century. Lovely room- old creaky hardwood floors, brick walls, old wooden ceilings, big plate glass windows looking onto Main Street DePere, beautiful brickwork on the outside, all painstakingly preserved. They have won numerous awards for the historically correct preservation of this building. Good feel inside, with couches, tables, and a counter, with lots of space. Nice, high ceilings make this even more spacious. The service is very good. Prices are fair. The espresso is very good, not "oh my God" off the charts, but very good, a solid A-. They also have very good brewed coffee, made individualized via Chemex pour-over, French press, or traditional brew. Where this place shines is the healthy breakfast option, namely oatmeal. Get it plain, or with blueberries, raspberries, craisens, maple syrup, pecans, etc. So good, so healthy. read more

I ordered a Chicken Burrito but they ran out of chicken so they gladly offered to substitute with ham. Luna is a gem of a coffee shop in De Pere. Located in downtown close to the St. Norbert's college campus it is a great place to order a drink and do some people watching or get some work done. I rather enjoy coming here for their green tea latte and baked oatmeal for breakfast. They also do music nights and something about the brick with the wood floor makes the music ring through the venue in the most delightful way. One of the coolest things about this place is they lend their namesake beer to Hinterland's brewery to make Luna Stout. A local favorite beer! Stop in and you will not regret it. read more

Found this hidden among St Norb's gems. Frequently sought out to be the comfort level of sweet smells and relaxing quality. This is a small batch coffee roasting shop. Coffee usually sends me walking in the opposite direction. I will convert to a coffee drinker just this once for the Honey Lattes. I can't account for any of the other coffee drinks. But, I only have heard yummy things about them from other people. The teas and smoothies hold their own delicious flavor, as well! Pair them with some hearty baked goods.
