I've used their service twice and wasn't disappointed either time. Once for wheel bearings and the second time for serpentine belt and pulley. They were fast and reasonably priced read more

Absolutely the BEST! Incredibly knowledgeable and honest to the core, and the kindest souls to boot! I first discovered Lumpp & Sons years ago when the dealer told me it would cost $1000 to fix my Sienna's air conditioning -- and after weeks of trying to survive Chicago's heat without AC, I took it to Patrick and he fixed it for $54. This is the only place I've gone since -- they continue to go above and beyond, keeping my car running smoothly for years, they are unmatched in figuring out how to fix big things for little cost, and it is a joy to take my car there! read more

I had a slow leaking rear tire, so I looked up reviews and Lumpp & Sons came with really high recommendations. Went there, they checked the tire and found a large screw embedded in the back side of the tire where it curves up. The technician showed it to me and recommended that I get a new tire due to the area of the puncture being a high flex area, a plug might still leak slowly due to the constant flexing. I said to myself, here it comes, the pitch to upcharge and sell me a high priced tire. Nope, the tech kept talking, and said best place is Costco, good tires for low prices. I asked him to just plug it and I would decide later on where to buy one. He did, and 3 weeks later I haven't lost a lb of air. So they do great work, they are honest, and not trying to sell you upgrades or extras. I will be using them again. read more

If you're looking for an honest and amazing mechanic, look no further--Patrick and his team at Lumpp & Sons are the absolute BEST!!! My A/C wasn't working, and I kept hearing a strange sound coming from the wheel while driving. I first took my car to the dealership, and they told me it was the transmission. Then I went to Gerber Collision, and they said my A/C was fine and basically refused to help. Thankfully, I stopped by Lumpp & Sons for an oil change and asked Patrick if they could check where the sound was coming from. Right away, Patrick and his team found the real problem. It wasn't the transmission--it was a worn wheel bearing! They replaced it and fixed my A/C, and now my car drives like a dream. They completed the work quickly and even kept me updated throughout the process, which I really appreciated. Patrick took the time to explain exactly what was wrong and what they were going to do--no pressure, no upselling, just honesty and clarity. It's almost impossible these days to find a mechanic who is both trustworthy and truly skilled. Patrick is exactly that and more!!! I feel so blessed to have found them. This is the only place I'll ever trust with my car again! read more

Always reliable and honest service for the several years and several vehicles that I have brought to Lump and Sons for maintenance or repair. I relocated during that time so I went to other repair shops for the convenience. I learned it pays to drive further for their expert service and reasonable pricing. read more

I always get excellent service at Lumpp & Sons Inc. I am always confident that my car is being taken care of when I bring it to Lumpp & Sons. Patrick is so nice and explains in detail the service that is being done on my car and this is important to me, since I'm a "girl"! read more

I was quoted from a corporation repair shop to fix my leaking fluid line for $1,200. Luckily I came to good 'ole Lumpp & Sons Inc. and they were able to make the repair for 1/4 the price! 10/10 recommend them for anything from a simple oil change to an entirely new fuel line. Patrick was also respectful of my job and that I wouldn't be available for a call until 3pm. He managed to get the entire thing fixed by the time my session ended with my client and I'm grateful I didn't have to cancel! read more

The ONLY repair shop I trust completely, and believe me, it's hard to find a good mechanic. Patrick and his team are fantastic and do better work than the other guys at a reasonable price. You're in good hands at Lumpp & Sons. read more

Just moved to the area and Lumpp was recommended to me. They got me in before Christmas when they were short handed - in and out in a few hours after diagnosing my 20 year old car's issue. My car and I will be back the next time something goes wrong! read more

DO NOT GO HERE! Very dirty, unprofessional. I called to get an oil change and was quoted it was between $70 and $80. They completed the oil change THEN told me it was over $100!! Never changed anything but oil and oil filter. VERY DECEPTIVE. Beware! read more

Patrick knew right away what was wrong with my car. His crew fixed the problem, same day. Patrick gave me an estimate what it would cost. This is about my 5th time I have had Lumpp & Sons work on my 2 cars for various reasons. I am very happy with their service. read more

Sent my car in for a wheel sensor issue. I was explained everything that was wrong with my car, walked through all the potential safety implications as well. Cannot recommend these guys enough. On top of great service they charge dealership rates as well. read more

Let's just start this by saying that the guys at Lump & Sons have developed a close and personal relationship with my car over the years. My dad was sent here years ago on a referral to which he then referred me as well. They've been taking care of the black beauty (aka my 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix) since day one. Anything from fixing the air conditioning, to break pads, oil changes and revamping parts that I have no idea what they're called. Which brings me to my next point... They. Are. Good. At. What. They. DO! I don't know anything about cars, but this is their craft and they craft it well. I always feel comfortable and confident dropping my car off knowing they'll fix it and fix it right. I rely HEAVILY on my vehicle, and could not be any more appreciative for all the work they've done! The best part about Lump & Sons is that these guys are honest. It's a family owned business and they tell it like it is. There is no beating around the bush, no trying to fix something that isn't broke or charging you for things you don't need. They analyze the problem and solve it as quickly and efficiently as possible. I highly recommend these guys for all of your auto mechanic needs! read more

Always precise and very reasonable pricing. Go to site for any car repair or maintenance.

My daughter and I were passing through town. We noticed the front passenger floor retained water from something leaking into the car the past few days from using the AC during our multi states drive. Called & spoke to the owner Patrick who was open for us to stop by even though his schedule was quite busy. He found the blocked ac condensation drainage and cleared it out quickly. We were relieved to resolve this concern and Patrick was really nice and extremely reasonable on the cost. Thank you for the excellent customer service and honest assessment. Would recommend. read more

Simply the best in the business. Extremely fair and he knows his stuff. Patrick has been my mechanic for over 10 years. I have taken Mercedes, Kia, Infiniti and other brands and he always gets the job done right the first time. Will never go anywhere else. read more

I came here on a whim after needing a place to fix my tire and my rim after a pothole wrecked it maybe like an hour before they closed and I'm so glad I did. Patrick was very nice, helped me get my car in working condition, and advised me on my next steps in order to fix my car completely. I never hope to go into an auto body place, but I know if I need to, I have a place that will take care of me. I would go back to this place in a heartbeat. Plus they have a real cute dog in there! That was just a bonus for the customer service that I received there. read more

I cant think of a better testimony than I send my kids here for repair work. I've used Lump several times over the past few years and so have my kids. I just started coming here because it is close and the reviews I read have been fantastic. I am happy to add another positive one. Patrick Lumpp is personable, skilled and honest. In the last year, I have come to trust him and appreciate his ability to recognize and remember me. He and his sons have fixed my car several times now at reasonable prices, a couple of times have been 10-15% less than a competitor's estimate. I am so happy to have a place now that is fair and trustworthy. read more

Came here with a Groupon for a oil change. The owner was very nice and made the experience very effortless. We dropped off the car and the car was ready in about 20-30 mins. They have some interesting furniture pieces in the office....they made it themselves. The coffee table base is a engine block!? Cool. I will be back if I ever need their services again. Thanks! read more

After Lumpp replaced two oxygen sensors the car wouldn't run. They refused to diagnose and fix the problem. After weeks of waiting I had to have the car towed to another shop. The computer was fried and had to be replaced by the other shop. Would not recommend read more

Found this shop about 2 1/2 yrs ago when looking for a 2nd opinion after bringing my car into my old shop twice within 2 months with same issue. Patrick diagnosed issue, explaining it to me where I understood (no charge). Took it back to my old shop asking them to fix properly (They wanted to charge me again and said I needed even more work. Old shop went out of business a few months later). Brought back to Lumpp - they fixed it right. Have been with them ever since even though we moved further away. Patrick and his team are down to earth, honest, always willing to explain things, and reasonably priced. read more

This place exceeds my expectations every time! I had my breaks done there in July 2020 about a month or 2 ago my steering wheel kept shaking every time I applied the brakes. I brought it in found the roters were warped. Fixed in less than 24 hours and covered under 1 year warranty. Thank you Pat! read more

I am new to the area and this was the first time I had to use a mechanic for an issue with a stripped battery bolt. The first mechanic said he didn't know how long it would take but labor is $119 an hour. Lumpp said it would be between $30 and $50 to do and to just stop on by. I went to them today and he actually remembered my car model from earlier in the week which was very impressive. He then fixed the issue on the spot and I was able to leave. He also charged me far less than I was expecting to pay. He definitely made a customer for life today. read more

I came to Lumpp and son's because I couldn't find a negative review about them anywhere online. After the first visit, I quickly understood why. They are upfront, honest, VERY knowledgeable, and reasonably priced. It is very apparent that they rely on returning customers rather than gouging every unsuspecting patron that wanders in. I've moved towns twice since my first visit and will continue to make the drive to lumpp and sons until either my job takes me out of state or I die...whichever happens first. read more

My 2006 Acura MDX was sporadically leaking power steering fluid. There are many possible reasons. I dropped my MDX off in the morning. Patrick and his crew diagnosed it, repaired it, and it was ready to pickup in the afternoon. Whatever issue I have brought my cars in for at Lumpp & Sons I typically get it repaired same day and at a reasonable cost. Plus you get to see Mustang! read more

My car broke down during rush hour traffic and I was panicking. I'm from out of state and don't know a lot of people here to call for help. My boss had referred me to this place a few days prior to breaking down and I am so glad he did because the owner really helped me out. He called a towing service and the tow truck was there within 10-15 minutes. My car was repaired very quick and I am very happy with the results. I would recommend this place for all your car needs. read more
