Took a friend here for their annual Day for Special Smiles dental clinic. What a great event, great…read morestaff and students. Highly recommend the school and this program

Recently my 15 year old grandson, Nathan, experienced pain and swelling in his jaw. His regular…read moredentist said Nathan must be seen by a specialist. When his mother told me about this, I suggested she try the dental school- she knows I have had exceptional care at A. T. Still. Nathan was treated with incredible kindness and a biopsy taken. Dr. Suarez has consulted with me in the past. When she entered the treatment area I felt an enormous sense of relief. Dr. Suarez has an unusually calming and encouraging presence and I could see Nathan responding very positively. It was amazing to see him relax and immediately trust her. On the way home he told me that he wanted to go back to the school for any further treatment. This is a kid who never really expresses much in the way of preferences, so I had to smile. Yesterday I saw Dr. Suarez for a follow-up consultation regarding my own previous surgery. After a tumor removal in 2013 I have been watchful in case it returned (as I was told that might happen.) Dr. Suarez was, once again, extremely impressive. She was incredibly thorough and explained in detail why there were no concerning issues. She took the time to review the surgical notes I had forwarded to the school. Dr. Suarez did not have to do that...she could have just done what she does in terms of observation and assessment. But she heard what I said about a recurrence. Knowing I was concerned, she found the original notes and explained in detail why the kind of event I experienced did not recur. Hoping this information is helpful to others in deciding on dental care. While the appointments may take more time to allow oversight by teachers, I have never had less than profoundly excellent care at this school.

Pros: Excellent teachers who truly care about each student. Particularly, Mr. Padilla (he's…read moreincredible!), Mrs. Kotkin and Mr. Rohner. Jennifer, in the front office, is great as well. Cons: Principal Jayne Bostow allows sexual assault/harrassment, bullying and retaliation of the assailant to go unpunished and doesn't seem to care about or feel the need to trouble herself with the effects it has on her students, particularly female students in the upper grades. Mrs. Bostow blatantly ignored the schools own rules and regulations in their handbook from the very start of when the first complaint was verbally filed. When we were finally given a form to file a complaint, the issue still wasn't dealt with in a timely or concise manner. For this reason, I had to pull all four of my children out. Thankfully, therapy is helping with my child who suffered from relentless abuse from her aggressor at this small Charter. From our perspective through this horrendous experience, Title IV is basically non-existent at this school. Mr. Dennis O'Reilly, Head of Schools, was made aware of the situation and also did nothing but send out an email reply that didn't really bring much comfort or offer any real solutions. It's a shame, because the teachers at this school are the best we've ever had and it was really difficult to come to the decision to leave. But, I will not allow any of my children to be treated so indignantly by the person who should have their best interests at heart.

When we were looking for a school for our son to attend Kindergarten, we were overwhelmed. There…read moreare so many options, whether public or charter, and being new to the Gilbert area, we didn't know which way to go. When I found Leman Academy Mesa, it was entirely by chance as I drove by it one day. I thought to myself, what a cute school, and it was literally down the street from our house, so I booked a tour. Mind you; this was before the pandemic. When we attended the tour, we were greeted by the sweetest administration staff and even the Principal! Mrs. Bostow is hands down the best Principal ever. The fact that she was not only in attendance for our tour but also presented info on herself, her background, and the school's mission says a lot about the values they encompass and the family/community feel they want their scholars' families to experience. We did not experience anything like this at the other schools we toured. Some of those folks couldn't even correctly introduce themselves! Now fast forward to 2020 and the pandemic. Mrs. Bostow and the entire administration staff at Leman have gone above and beyond to keep all families informed and up to date on the new procedures, policies, and progress as we deal with this global situation. They've surpassed any expectations my husband and I could have had for such a situation. We have officially started Kindergarten this week, and on the first day, my son came home with new friends and the happiest disposition. He loves his teachers so much and can't wait to learn! He said Mrs. Robins is funny and friendly, and Mr. Opazo was silly and fun. We are very blessed to have found such an amazing school with core values, a classical model for learning, family and community support, stellar staff, and top-notch security. We couldn't imagine being anywhere else and are so happy our sons will be apart of the Leman family for years to come. Here's hoping they decide to open a High School by the time our sons reach that age. :)
