Firstly, they missed the fact that the child has dyslexia; instead citing general learning disabilities and were contemplating holding her back a grade. Fortunately, we had her tested privately and then pushed the school district to make accommodations. She was discovered to be twice exceptional: gifted I.Q. with dyslexia. But, the real impetus for this review was her sixth grade teacher. Here are examples of some of the things that were said (many repeatedly) in the classroom: "Don't talk to me. My alligators are out." "I am so done with all of you. Figure it out yourselves." "You were so bad yesterday that I almost called in sick today." "It's silly to believe in God." "No American should be allowed to own a gun." The teacher unleashed her scorn upon the classes in general, while seemingly targeting certain students for the worst of her wrath (generally boys). I could write a novel based on instances with this "teacher". But, the bottom line is that my child went from being someone who loved school to dreading every single day with this person.

Called to check on the status as it has showed waiting for weeks . School informed us we were missing paperwork and good thing we called . Faxed everything over right away thinking everything should be great . A week before school starts I get a call from Anna Price letting us know they are at capacity and my daughters application is denied . Anna Price was very rude and unhelpful . Queen Creek School district is an unorganized disaster and honesty we dodged a bullet .

I was there for 6 years, the school education is horrible. Leading Edge is behind public and…read morecharter schools in the Valley, though it says otherwise. I had an IEP form that was not accurate or understandable when reviewed by my new school. The Leading Edge staff made changes to the information without my parent or guardians permission and knowledge. I had been threatened by the vice principal that she would be calling the cops due to throwing an empty plastic water bottle at a student who was physically assaulting another kid. The school staff, withheld my transcripts when they learned I was going to another school. My parents contacted LEA MULTIPLE TIMES, even going into the school to get them before we received the transcripts. Leading Edge staff protect bullies due to their parents being on staff. These students cause problems constantly but are never addressed, creating a sense of disruption, anxiety, and fear among the students. I and other students have had things stolen from our bags multiple times, and when the staff was told that the police would be involved the item would mysteriously return the next day in our bag. For Spirit week, the principal and vice principal dressed up in onesies and pacifiers, riding tricycles and talking to students like babies. They also had scoops of ice cream in their hands which they had students, of several grades, lick off. The students were then encouraged to do the same to each other in front of the school. Some teachers and staff treated the students really well, but the majority of the staff bullied and neglected the students.

The principal, Ms. McMillian is attentive and involved; she gives every tour and is present in every school event. She leads with empathy and her love for the school and students is evident. The curriculum is organized and the perfect level of challenging. I am amazed at how much my child has learned and how she enjoys homework because it is not excessive. We are so grateful to live close to such an incredible school! Haley provides the perfect environment for children to learn & thrive.
