I drive a long way to see Dr. Recker for my dry eyes. I've tried a lot of remedies for dry eyes and nothing works better than the doctor manually expressing the meibomian glands one by one. The fancy equipment that other offices try to sell you on never works as well as having a doctor who will manually express them so go see Dr. Recker if you have dry eyes and skip the hype of the other offices. Additionally, she and her staff are very kind so I am surprised at some of the negative reviews. read more

I met Dr. Recker here a couple of years ago and I'm so glad I did! I'm a difficult patient with challenging eyes and Dr. Recker has gone above and beyond what any optometrist ever has with me. Come in for a renewal to a prescription I've had for years! New young Dr. wanted to rewrite my prescription to a new drug!!!! I tried to express I was not comfortable with a new prescription for a new drug and just wanted what I've been using for longer than she has been a practicing doctor, refilled. She was very combative when I objected to the new drug and kept interrupting me not lessening to my concerns or questions but just over talking, continually interrupting me, to keep telling me what she wanted me to hear. Again I tried to asked a question and she rudely walked out to go get another college. So now it is a two on one situation. I explained again my opinion and was again interrupted over and over to the point I ended my appointment and left. They immediately became the victims with that (Karen attitude) that I was being aggressive towards them. I reminded them that continuously interrupting a person was extremely rude and inconsiderate and I was not the aggressive person, but the doctor that had to be heard started the aggression to the point I no longer wanted to be a client of this lack of professionalism and arrogance towards a new potential customer!!!! Jack the ripper had better bedside manors then this young doctor. If you just want to be told what to do and how she wants it to be, then this crappy place is right up there and it will be a good fit for you!! But if you have a deferent opinion or ask opposing questions don't expect a good relationship with this " Karen " doctor! In regards to your reply to my review of your horrible doctor's bedside manor was misleading and false to say the least. First of all; I was not the one who started as you stated, "became verbally and physically aggressive". For one to interrupt and talk over someone already in the middle of a sentence you have to become louder than the one talking and aggressive to try and take over the conversation. So your misleading statement trying to make me out to be the rude customer is unacceptable. That is a misrepresentation of the event. Second, last minute add-on new patent who was put in front of other patients for an emergency visit! No!!!! I called in looking for a new doctor and asked if there was an appointment available at ten oe eleven o'clock and was told the next available appointment was not until 2pm. I didn't mention anything about a medical emergency for special treatment or to be put in the front of the other appointments. Another embellished statement to make your staff look justified in their horrible actions and demeanor. Third, basic history questions were not the cause for your docto's rude behavior. It was my asking questions witch she obviously took offensively as a challenge to her position as a doctor. She started interrupting raising her voice to talk over my question aggressively trying to take control of the conversation. When I persisted in asking the same unfinished interrupted questions is when the doctor went to get a second person. Not from a rant as you so elegantly describe it or safty concerns for a little 5'2" rude aggressive doctor, but from her not being able to control the conversation as she thought she had the moral high-ground as the doctor to just put me in my place as a patent and interrupt me as she saw fit. More to say but won't fit "Not be bullied", into a prescription! Exactly my felling. Witch is how I felt. Your comment self diagnosed is also a far cry from the truth. It's not my diagnosis. luminoptix optometry reviews Below is my original review, I did get a response to my review but the owner very apologetic and they called me to go back and take my glasses so they can be fixed. They also said that the low quality of the glasses was due to having government issued insurance that that is all they pay for but I've been to other places and glasses are a lot better quality I didn't even get a case for my glasses I got a cloth bag. When I went back they were extreme nice , but that doesn't take away the bad experience I had there . Ana the technician is great I don't have any complaints about her. Extremely bad service, Ana the technician that heeled me with pick out my glasses and order my contacts was great but other than that I did not like the service they provided. To begin with the prescription the doctor gave my was weaker than my original I came in with eventually it got sorted out but they charged me for the trial contacts that where the wrong prescription and then charged me again with the new prescription. In the 20 plus years that I have worn contacts ever have I been charged with the trial contacts and I've been to places where I get up to 4 or 5 trials and they've never charged me . Also when I picked out my glasses I did not try the on because I had my contacts on but the girl at the reception said to take them home and try them out and if there was a problem to bring them back that I had 30 days to bring the back , they ended up having a small scratch but very visible when I put the on and i brought them back they said scratches where not covered and I explained to her that, that was how I picked them up. I go here at the end of the year to spend the FSA balance. :) I get my eyes checked and they do all the normal stuff as a "pre-exam." The first time (Nov. 2020) one of the staff saw my car and said, "That's cool! i destroyed the engine in one of those in a week!" Today when I went, everyone was cheerful and honest with me when I chose some frames that were a bit too avante garde for my old, white, round face. Somewhere in the middle, Dr. Recker comes in and does her thing with the eye charts and the machines and made sure I got the right prescription! We have a fun conversation and then we go on our way. But more importantly than *my* experience, I also watched an elderly couple come in to say that the elderly husband's new glasses were too short at the back of the ears. I had to say, "Go help the people who aren't able to wait for me" (which I think should have been obvious) and they did, helping them with what was likely a simple adjustment. Drove all the way down from North Park for my appointment to get contacts and glasses. The front desk and optometrist refused to help me if I didn't put a mask on and pull my mask above my nose. I let them know I have anxiety and even showed them my diagnosis from my medical chart but they still turned me away telling me I have to have a note NOT to wear a mask. There should have been an accommodation made for me. I completely agree with the other reviewer who said they do not care about their patients. I also want to mention that I was the ONLY PATIENT in the office, the office was completely empty. Such a waste of my time and gas! I do not recommend this place and will tell everyone I know to avoid them. read more

I've just had a dry eye spa at the clinic, and it was amazing. It relieved my eyes, and I feel less stress on my eyes after the session. The staff there are not on point, they also are not welcoming their demeanor makes you not want to shop there. I have a very good insurance through my work, I get 2 pairs of glasses a year. They game me my first pair 1 month out from when I went in. It's been 3 months and I still haven't received my second pair. Also the laboratory they use for the prescription lenses suck and use very cheap material but you pay for the hood material . DO NOT COME HERE, go to arena eyeworks . The only reason I came here was because they don't sell SPY glasses at arena eyeworks I'll stick to oakleys . read more

Worst optometrist office ever. Glasses were so overpriced. My sons glasses didn't last 2 months. Big mistake. Go to a chain they have deals and you can get 2 glasses for the price of one at the place. I took my sons glasses back in 3 parts. They weren't broken but they came apart. I was told there was nothing that could be done it wasn't a manufacturing problem, but I was offered to buy more frames at full price. read more
