Ok. I'm a reader of books in paper. And I collect way way too many of them, so once in awhile I…read morewill purge my shelves and take a load to Bookworks. I love Cathy M. who is sometimes at the counter there. She is knowledgeable about books and everything local. A very nice person, as are they all. Of course I will get rid of books then cruise the aisles here looking for more. The selection is wide; the store is well organized and labelled by category signs hanging from the ceiling. Only one thing lacks. They need a library cat. Aside from that. This is a great little spot and the money you spend there goes to Sierra Resource Center which helps residents in need. Books are fairly priced.

(Which I do love BTW) This store has one of the most intuitive layouts I've ever encountered in a bookstore, and the selection, wow! After making all of my selections, I spoke to the owner for a bit. He seems to have a passion for finding everything interesting and unique. What a nice guy! I tried to keep it reasonable and only bought four books, but I already have plans to go back, and I reached out to friends who are in the area to see if there's anything they need! It seems more critical now than ever to have as many books as you can so that we don't lose history.

This had to be the weirdest thrift store experience I have ever had. We were drawn to the shop by…read moregoogle and the zen name & signs out front. At first we thought it was closed because all of the lights were off. But the main door was unlocked and we entered. There was 3 people sitting at the table in the middle of the store - they stared us down but didn't say a word. We wondered the entire store which was primarily books, movies/dvds/VHS & furniture, with a few odds and ends. I think my definition of "gift store" is different than theirs because I didn't see much that I would categorize in that department. The odor in this store was the usual thrift store aroma, with a splash of...something very unpleasant. We saw what looked like a music venue in the back with a few guys talking really loudly from that area. After wondering the store, we started to work our way to the front when one of the gentleman practically ran to follow us out. When we looked back at him, he pulled out his key and dangled it indicating he was locking the door behind us, still not saying a single word to us. Out of probably 5 people in that store, not a single one said anything to us. If they were closed, they should have locked the door behind them - it was Saturday late morning.... I would label this more as a used book/music/movie store. I definitely won't waste my time here again. Such a weird experience!

They even have a few boxes of 25 cent boxes. I found quite a few comics to complete a few series I started collecting years ago. What a great deals. Robert and Tim were super nice. One of the comics I need was not in stock except for a pack of 4 and I didn't need the other 3. Tim was willing to break up the package so I could buy just the one.
