I would give anything to go back in time and NOT hire Lumber Jane. I had a beautiful, symmetrical oak tree in my front yard that had some broken limbs in the top from old storm damage. I hired Lumber Jane to cut out the storm-damaged limbs and to trim one small branch that was starting to extend over the roof. That is ALL my tree needed. When I came home from work, I was sick to see that Lumber Jane had cut off THREE beautiful, healthy limbs in an undamaged part of the tree - that had NO disease, problems or issues (and were *completely* unrelated to what I had hired her to do). Further, she cut the healthy limbs off at the trunk - which she later told me meant that they will NEVER regrow. All three healthy branches were on the same side of the tree - leaving a big gap in the tree when she cut them off. Also, this *permanently* eliminated the symmetry of the tree and changed the tree to a weird shape when viewed from that side. Further, because all three healthy branches she cut off were on the same side, it makes the weight distribution of this large oak tree uneven - which is not ideal in the event of storms, etc. I am just sick. There was NO reason to permanently cut those beautiful, healthy limbs off - especially without discussing this permanent decision in careful detail with me, beforehand. She should have carefully explained that she planned to (unnecessarily) cut healthy limbs off at the trunk - which would permanently change the symmetry, shape, and weight distribution of my tree. Barb subsequently apologized for doing this, and she acknowledged that the limbs were healthy and that cutting them off was "unnecessary." She initially agreed to try to graft a new limb on the tree in the spring, but a few weeks later, she said she would not graft because she has never made a successful graft. Now, I either have to live with a tree that is misshapen by her thoughtless cutting or pay someone to graft replacement branches for me. Therefore, I requested a refund from Barb - which she did. (Hence the 2 stars instead of 1.) I have literally spent hours upon hours, over months, calling, emailing, and searching for someone to graft branches where Barb cut off my healthy limbs. Unfortunately, people with grafting skills are incredibly rare - and I have not found anyone yet. (Barb did not offer to help find a grafter.) Because she's a certified arborist, I went into this trusting Barb. Unfortunately, I don't think she even really thought about what she was doing to the shape of my tree by permanently removing healthy limbs - which is shocking from an arborist. An Oklahoma forestry consultant told me that, in order to pass the arborist certification, they are required to consider the shape and symmetry of a tree before making cuts. Barb obviously did not do this. All I wanted was storm-damaged limbs cut from the top and one small branch trimmed. :( That's all. I was not seeking anything else for my tree. I am absolutely sick that Barb permanently ruined the shape of my tree. It seemed like she didn't really even think it through before cutting healthy limbs off - which is upsetting if you love your trees like I love mine. I wish I had never trusted my tree to Lumber Jane. If I could go back and not hire her, I would. I am deeply disappointed that my beloved tree will, unfortunately, never look the same, due to the thoughtless cutting of Lumber Jane. It was a terrible experience, and now, I have to live with the permanent consequences. My tree will never be as beautiful as it was - thanks to Lumber Jane. I learned the hard way that, once Lumber Jane ruins the look of a tree, the owner is stuck with the permanent consequences. :( read more

Assisted with removing a dead tree from my mother's front yard. Service was very professional and efficient. Barb was very knowledgeable in reference to what caused the tree to die and what tree might be a good replacement in the future. Barb was very informative and took care as to how the tree was removed to ensure no damage to house or property incurred. I would highly recommend her for any tree removal/tree trimming needs.
