There was also a lot of debris in my gardens afterwards, and they did not intially use a leaf blower, so I requested that they come back by and do so. They did apologize for the broken pots, and I do get that some collateral damage is inevitable with trees as large as mine overhanging a garden. My suggestion would be to let both the owner and the crewhead know to take special care if you are an avid gardener, and to move anything breakable completely clear.

The biggest project involved installing new boards on my second-story deck, creating a header and gate to the roof, a gate to the stairs, rebuilding a stairway and landing, and lattice and staining for a finished look. Since the initial install, Small Town has done some repairs and went in to reinforce the deck with more robust 6 X 6, concrete footers, other repairs, and darker stain. Other projects have included scraping and painting in a bathroom, repairing double-hung windows, and installing French doors. They have removed floor tiles, and removed old worn-out furniture from the house as well. All along, Small Town has been fantastic to work with, communicative, and reasonably priced. They gave me the quote which included stump grinding, and told me it was for that day only. I agreed to the job. I also explained that the brick would still be around the trees since I was saving up to have the house rebricked and the tree job took a big chunk of that savings. They told me they stump grind on Saturdays, and that whenever the brick was removed, they would come back and stump grind. I questioned it again after they finished removing the trees. They sent me a $0 invoice for stump grinding notating that they would be back when the bricks were removed. It took four months for everything to be finished regarding the house. When I contacted them last week to say the brick was removed and the stumps could be ground, I was told they needed more money because too much time had passed. I was told 1-2 months was okay but 4 months was too long. They continued to argue with me until I got them to agree to a small refund because the job wasn't completed. I now have to spend more money to have the stumps ground down because they didn't honor their word nor their invoices showing that information. Be wary of the jobs you are contracting them to do and meticulously detail all duties you are having completed.
