I purchased a Lumadent light back in 2013 and it had been going strong till now in 2021. I decided to upgrade and Michele helped me along the way with pricing and recommendations. She provided excellent customer service and was extremely helpful and responsive. Looking forward to another excellent product thanks to her and Lumadent. read more

Technically one is too many. Absolute worse experience and customer service. They claim they provide customized loupes however out of 4 loupes sold to my office only 1 fit well. All others had convergence issues to the point some were not usable. We sent in for repairs and they still were not able to correct . I guess no surprise when they use a selfie that you provide the company in place of someone coming back out to remeasure. Apparently a rep will only come out to make a sale when issues arise good luck trying to get them back. It was a 6 month process with multiple repair attempts until we opted to return. Which I may add still waiting on refunds several weeks later. Lumadent offers low price point loupes but beware you get what you pay for. The time and frustration are not worth the discount. read more

Very poor customer service and poor quality face shield. They claim the shield will fit over most loupes with head light. I have the popular Orascoptic brand and they do NOT accommodate. According to Stefanie Riddle, one of the "solution" reps, I would need more foam pieces to allow for a perfect fit. No extra pieces were sent with the order on top of that, The pieces that were sent were faulty- adhesive did not separate properly , therefore I had to improvise in adapting foam to the plastic frame to get an idea of how this shield should fit. The plastic shield is flimsy, and the functionality is non existent! You cannot lift the shield up or down without restriction, and the cheap plastic bends. They state due to COVID-19 they will not issue a refund on their product but will send me Xtra foam that should have been sent initially but they were out! It has been over a Month and I have not received any additional foam thus this order is still incomplete. I doubt that the foam pieces will make a difference in the fit of this face shield. For some reason they rather compromise customer service for $40. I offered to send this back since I cannot use it. read more

Great company and great products. I've been using the light for 4+ years. It works great. Just got another as a back up because I would be lost without it. Josie was super helpful placing the order and was quick to exchange a battery that wasn't charging. Highly recommend this company. read more

I met Noah at the AACD conference in San Francisco and was very warmly greeted by him. I have had the Ultralight system for about 5 years now; however I felt that I wanted to try another system out. Both vendors are easy to work with; however, I do believe that the Lumadent system offers a better warranty in the sense that should the wire break it only costs about 10 bucks to switch the wire versus about $100 bucks. Not that my wire on the Ultralight has ever broken; however, it's nice to know that if something should happen Lumadent won't charge a lot to replace the wire. As far as the quality of the product I do like the fact that the battery is encased in Aluminum as opposed to hard plastic. I have dropped my Ultralight battery a couple times and on the second drop it did break; luckily Ultralight did offer to replace it for free even though it was just barely out of the warranty expiration. Though I have yet to drop the Lumadent battery; I would suspect that it would not break due to it's sturdier construction. Overall it does look nicer and I like that it has a knob to adjust to the exact brightness I like. One thing that I had thought would be a deal breaker was that when I looked at the light for the first time, even at minimum power, was that the light was too bright. However, that was me sitting at home toying with it for the first time. Upon trying it out with a patient I noticed that the brightness setting at the lowest power was actually perfect. It was bright enough to illuminate the oral cavity without blinding me as I have noticed with some other systems. Well done! Overall I would rate this product 5/5 and hopefully I never have to find out if the aluminum case is sturdier than the hard plastic of Ultralight. I would highly recommend Lumadent as an extremely strong competitor to Ultralight. read more

Great lighting system and even better customer service. Lumadent is by far the most popular lighting system among my classmates at the University of Louisville school of Dentistry. Couldn't be happier with the system and definitely think it is the best system for the value. The service rep Noe was great to deal with and offered first class service -Nathan read more

I used to have good experience with the company but lately the service is lacking. I called six days ago and placed an order for a battery with a customer rep, thinking it would speed up the process, b/c I need the battery urgent for daily use. That's why you have a customer rep, to help you place order and speed things up. But unfortunately, the representative was not too helpful, it took longer to process then it would take if one was placing the order online. When I called and check the status, it was not even ready to be mailed out. She didn't send me a confirmation or let me know the status. I don't know if I would buy it again. read more

I've had trouble with my new loupes and light since I received them. The 3.5mm connection from the light cord to the battery is not solid and causes my light to constantly flicker. I've tried two cords and two batteries and had the same issues with both. Customer service has been no help, only offered solutions that required me to pay as they only have a 45 day warranty. I contacted them within this time to make them aware of the problem but let them know I needed time to diagnosis what was causing it as it's gotten worse over time. Also my local Austin rep will not return emails. Do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere. read more

Great customer service. I have been using their lights for 4 years now. Worked perfectly until one day both batteries started slowing down. I guess I should have sent it in to get the recharged but decided to treat myself to a new set. I received the airlux but had some issues with them I am still not sure which component failed but customer service was very quick to respond and worked with me. I decided to get the ProLux instead and it has been working wonderful. Hoping they will last longer than my old set. read more

The WORST EXPERIENCE ever!!! THE most UNPROFESSIONAL Business I have ever dealt with! I purchased the unilux lumadent light near two months ago and paid near $500AUD for which I received the faulty one which was not working from day one! Been in contact with their customer service, Nick, kept sending videos to prove that I have assembled the whole thing correctly and that the light itself is faulty! I have bought my loupes , thank God from another company, which I could not use as I don't have the light! Now they have asked me to post the whole thing back as it is still under warranty to fix it! So I need to skip my work hours and pay $$$ to post it from Australia to the US simply because of the error on their end!! They could have simply checked the light before dispatching it internationally! It's not a rocket science technology that they might have missed! I asked them to send me a new one as I do not want this one fixed as it was your fault AND THEY STOP RESPONDING TO MY EMAILS!! I will definitely follow it up legally with my connections in the US if not sorted out within a couple of days. read more

I will say that I don't appreciate specifically engineering products so they're not backward compatible with previous products... when they easily could be. I hope LumaDent will think about that a little more carefully in the future, and think about how that can be disrespectful to their customers. That said, I appreciate the company's dedication to their customers, their product is great, and I'm glad we got some things worked out so we can keep working together. read more

EXCELLENT customer service..... my light stopped working all in sudden and in great distress, I called Lumadent customer service. After communicating a couple of options, the associate spoke with the higher management and decided to ship me a loaner kit for free, as well as continuing to work with me to figure out the defect in my product. It is expected to take around 10 business days for them to inspect your product and figure out what's wrong. I have very important exams coming up continuously throughout the next few weeks and I did not have the luxury to wait for 10+ days... without them shipping the loaner kit, I would NOT have been okay. Thank you Lumadent for your support and help and I cannot wait to continue being your loyal customer! read more

Good products, but poor customer service. While my office was closed due to the pandemic I decided to get my frames repaired on my loupes. Customer service told me about 1 week turnaround after they receive the loupes. They basically held my order because they forgot to collect payment and tried to play the blame game on different CSRs and employees. UPS says I will now receive my loupes about 1 month after they received them. I"m planning on re-opening my office next week and won't even have my trusty loupes. Lumadent knew I was upset that my loupes didn't ship on time because I had called / emailed every other day and nobody even bothered to ask if I wanted upgraded shipping from UPS ground. This definitely leaves a sour taste in my mouth for considering them for future purchases. read more

Best service ever! Had issue with my AirLux light. Michelle troubleshoot with me throughout the process and shipped out the replacement part very promptly. Would def recommend Lumadent to my colleagues for excellent after sale service. read more

The light itself works great...until the battery gives up. I have had Designs for Vision and Orascoptic lights. Their batteries last upwards of 5 years. I bought the 2 battery package and at just over a year, one battery stopped working. Because it was outside the warranty, I was told I could either pay 100 dollars to repair it or buy a new batter for 150. I opted to just use my second battery and remember to bring the charger with me for longer cases. Then the other battery died. I contacted the company and now the repair is 150 (the same cost as buying an entirely new unit). Not worth it to keep paying 150 every 2 years when you could just buy a different vendor's light. read more

Purchased my loupes 2 yrs ago they fell apart in 6 months !! Recently sent in to get fixes as my light never seems to stay on my glasses. Sent to the company to fix whole on vacation. They had two weeks to fix and send back and they failed to even do that. I told them when I shipped I needed them back by 3-21-2019 Needless to say I never got them and they wouldn't pay to ship overnight. Thanks lumadent for not keeping your word and not offering great customer service The businesses that care about their customers would of shipped overnight because the company dropped the ball. Now without glasses. Will NEVER do business with this company again. THEY DONT CARE ABOUT THEIR PROMISES or CUSTOMERS! read more

I've been extremely happy with LumaDent. I bought an Orascoptic loupe and light combo 5 years ago. After a year, my light crapped out on me. I was told it would cost me nearly $450 to have it evaluated to see if it could be fixed because it was two weeks over its one year warranty. For the same price it would have taken me to diagnose the problem, I bought a new light with LumaDent and 2 battery packs. I've had my LumaDent light for 2 years now, and love it. It's just as good as the Orascoptic light and the company has been a pleasure to work with. I recently had an issue with my light (which turns out was probably my fault because the jack that plugs the light into the battery was bent). I emailed the company to figure out what could be done. I got a response within 10 minutes and the company offered to send me a paid shipping label to mail it in to be evaluated. It turns out they are located just down the street from my office, so hand delivery was easiest. I spoke to Joe Davies (who is awesome) and he offered to come to my office to pick up the light to be evaluated. Who does that? Seriously great customer service. Although they offered to come to me, I dropped my light off on a Thursday at 4:30pm and it was ready for pickup the next morning at 8:30am. To my surprise, I walked out with a brand new cord, upgrades to my battery packs, and an awesome carrying case. I offered to pay for their services, but Joe said there was no charge. I can't give this company enough praise. They are fast, efficient, fair, and I would recommend them to anyone. Thanks LumaDent and Joe! read more

I just recently ordered my first pair of loupes and headlight from LumaDent recently, and I am more than pleased with their products and service. I received my loupes in time to practice using them a little, before they were required in my dental school. Their loupes are just as excellent in quality as their headlight. I can see just as much detail as with some of the more expensive brands (Q optics, orascoptic, etc.). Their is no reason to spend more money to get a more reputable loupe brand!! I'm so glad I went with lumadent, because I know I didn't get ripped off. read more

Extremely disappointed in Lumadent! I am a local RDH with a public health practice as well as working in general practice that lives a few miles from Their store. I inquired both online and left a message regarding ordering face shields a week ago and did not receive any return call or communication. When following up again- of course the item is "sold out" - which is why I inquired basically as soon after they were available. The person who answered the phone sounded as if she was still in bed. When I said I would find another vendor, she said I could be "put on a waiting list" for when they came in Supposedly the end of the week or beginning of next. However when I inquired if I was put on the "list" would there be enough product to cover the list and fill orders. Of course the sleepy person could not answer that or even my original question. I have purchased loupes from Lumadent and will be needing a new light soon. The customer service is so lacking, as it was when I purchased the loupes that I will have to source another vendor. It's hard to support local businesses when they don't support you. I guess they don't need the business! read more

Awesome product, extremely poor service. I heard about Lumadent when I was a first year, so I reached out to try the product and later advocated for them in a group order. Normally, the organizer of the group order receives a free light of their choice. I did not like that concept as it did not benefit my classmates so we all spilt the cost evenly. Though I bought the product, I did not have the opportunity to use my light as a D1; however, when I was ready to use it, I needed the plastic attachment piece for my loupes. I contacted my representative multiple times via email only to not to get a response at all, which was not the case when I was organizing the order (yes, the representative still works there and their email is still active). Then I received a phone number to call from a classmate. Explained to the customer service representative, S, my situation and how I was hoping they could assist me as I advocated for their product. She proceeded to put me on hold and then proceeded to change all my billing information in the system, only to end with that she could only sell me the plastic attachment piece and how it was ONLY $30 with an additional $8 for shipping. It is ONLY $38, when you are working and able to afford it; however, when you pay $350 for a product that should last 4 years with a loan of $250,000 (currently as D2 and only to increase for the future years) it is tough. Yes, you have procedures in place, but at the same time it is your job to provide service and compassion to a future dental provider that had faith in your product and would buy more in years to come. Did I order the attachment? No. Personally, based on my experience with the emails, I do not ever see myself recommending others for the product either. read more

promised to have a 2 day shipment delivered by friday, and when i called with the tracking number with delivery being 3 days late, they said ooh well we can't do anything. usps had a hold up and nothing in our control, and i requested for a refund and return of the headlight, and lady victoria clearly mentioned that i have to pay a return shipment fee as well . good luck. i have always recommended others in the past to lumadent so maybe when they started they might have had a great customer relationship. read more

Recently purchased the headlight system and I love it. Very bright light. Also very light. Barely feel it on my loupes. I originally bought the wired (prolux) system and I was impressed. I use the light on my 4.5x loupes so I don't use for every procedure so I wanted the freedom of the wireless so I got the airlux upgrade. So far very happy with it. I purchased a case to hold my loupes and my light. The company accidentally sent me the wrong insert for the case so my prolux battery did not fit. I called the company and they sent me the right insert ASAP. Great customer service. Thanks Kalani Smith!!!!! read more

I bought Loupes from lumadent. The salesman convinced me to get 2.5 magnification when I requested 4.0. he told me I would be able to switch them if I didn't like them. I didn't and asked to switch. It took over 6 months to get the switch done and when I finally received the 4.0 loupes when i looked though them I had double vision. I just gave up at that time knowing if I tried to do something about it would take another 6 months witch I didn't have. read more

I have been a lumadent customer since 2013 when I was a dental student. Throughout that period I've had to purchase new batteries, exchange batteries and headlight bulb, all with no issues. About 2 months ago I bought a new light : the airlux. It never worked properly since the day I got it. The light wouldn't turn on when I plug it in fully and after wiggling it would flicker on and then just turn off. I contacted customer support and didn't hear back from them for a few weeks. I wrote them several email trying to resolve the issue, but took ages to hear back and the responses were not helpful. For example, I took a photo of the light being plugged in all the way to show them, because it was one of the frequently encountered issues, and the rep replied asking me to check if the plug was all the way in. Finally I got fed up with the lack of customer service and asked for a refund. Worst part is they would only refund me the cost of the product because "they don't make profit on shipping cost". Such a lame excuse because 1.what company makes profit on shipping cost, most online shops offer free shipping nowadays. 2. Why am I responsible for paying for shipping of the product AND return shipping when the product was FAULTY to begin with? Definitely would not buy from them again. read more

I've had loupe lights from Ultralight and Orascoptic before purchasing one from Lumadent. The light is much brighter than either of them and the hardware is light. I ordered a pair of loupes from a sales rep that came to my school. Two weeks after I ordered I finally was emailed an invoice with a link to pay that didnt work. I called/emailed my rep multiple times to try to pay with no response. A week later I ended up calling the company myself to make the payment. A full month after I ordered the loupes they call me and say that my loupe are backordered and it could be another month before they even ship. All my other classmates that went with other companies already has their loupes in hand. Super dissapointed at the customer service. I would recommend going with someone else. read more

When selecting loupe lights, I was very sensitive and even picky. I tried several companies but something was not enough. Lumadent light is the most cost-effective and has top notch customer service. Low heat radiation in front of my forehead, high intensity, uniform light field, easy-to-use, light weight, replaceable cables are really nice features. And you can fit lumadent light on everything, even your regular glasses. read more

I understand the reason why people like this dental light because I have one and have been using for awhile. It's a reasonable price comparing to other dental light brands. But when I sent my battery to them to repair, they sent it back to me without being repaired. When I talked to their customer service, they told me to send it back to them with my dental light so they can find what a real problem is. I showed my battery with loosen output to one of their representatives at a dental convention and he checked it and saw the problem to be fixed. He even told me how they are going to fix it (replacing a spring inside the battery). And now the customer service told me that they replaced on/off switch button(it wasn't this problem and it wasn't mentioned at the time I addressed the issue for my battery) and I have to pay again for another repair and I have to ship it to them. I told her the real problem and she told me she is going to send me a wire to try. How the wire is going to solve the loosen output! She wasn't listening and I wanted to talk to the manager. The manager wasn't even bother to pick up the phone and to talk to me. I told them I am going to leave it without being repaired. I will definitely choose a better dental light/ loupes brand with a good management and life warranty in the future. I don't want to go through another headache to deal with. It's not worth to fight with frustration and anger. read more
