More than any other boutique, Boem seems to have the most variety of big, bold necklaces...exotic tribal styles, statement pieces, etc.etc. You're sure to find something cute (in apparel or accessories) during your excursion here. I found some of their clothing way overpriced...a ballpark of $200 for some of their tops (even T-Shirts!), for instance. Jewelry isn't cheap either, but relatively cheaper? This is a fairly big store, with a long layout, but they have SO much stuff, it's a bit packed in...and hard to manueuver around, but only if the store is fairly crowded. They do have HUGE, private, walk-in closets though (only 3?)...so plenty of privacy. One other thing I didn't like was that on my last visit, they were playing Country-Western music...which I didn't think fit the look and style of the store at all (unless maybe it's moving in that direction?). Before that, they always played cool, more metro type music. So guess I don't love EVERYTHING about this boutique...but no matter, this is a fun, eclectic boutique...with lots of relaxed, Bohemian styles (very Californian?), which I tend to wear often. Surprisingly, this place in Fort Mill has become one of those places in the past few years. Of course, I have other favorite boutiques in Charlotte, but this boutique is closest to my home. For a Fort Mill boutique, it's surprisingly lofty and cosmopolitan. I love how the store is so spacious, with plenty of walking space...with mirrors everywhere, so you can almost try on things (accessories!) without having to go into the dressing room (though their dressing rooms are nice and spacious as well). Their apparel and accessories are largely bohemian...casual chic. It reminds me of Boem, one of my fave boutiques in Southpark...though Broadcloth is a tad cheaper. Overall, the many cute items in this store are very affordable...which makes it super-fun. More than anything, I LOVE the accessories here. I always find something unique that catches my eye...whether it's a hat, sandals, or jewelry. Honestly, I shop more online than anything nowadays, but if I feel the need to shop in person, I usually make my rounds here, along with their younger sister store, Page, in Baxter Village (just a mile down the road). Bought a swim shorts for 30% discount. Got a lot of help from the associates to pick the right size for my shoes. He brought four pairs for me and was very patient. I stopped in on a Sunday afternoon when they opened at 12n and was greeted by Leon, a very friendly and professional young man from Va Beach who now claims CLT as his new home. I was looking for a specific style of T-Shirt and/or gold shirt. He explained they get new styles and merchandise every Friday at 11am. He recommend registering on their web site to get advance notice of new products.

They have a wide variety of home goods (from dishes to pillows to adorable knickknacks), men's and women's shoes and clothing, purses, jewelry, and more. Moreover, the owner and her mom are the nicest people you will ever meet. They know you by name and are extremely friendly, kind, and courteous. I have never been pushed or pressured to buy anything, but I always leave with a small pile of unique items I love. If you've never been here, it's one of the hidden treasures of the Charlotte area. I have found that it always leads me in a good direction. They've also gotten me hooked me on other products over the years, like Balega socks and Currex insoles. I now wear both of these to work daily. This was the first time I'd visited this Providence Road store, and I was not disappointed. The staff was terrific, and I was personally helped by Natalie, who was excellent. She was knowledgeable about the product, and her suggestions were spot on. I ultimately ended up buying two pairs of shoes (New Balance 880s and Brooks Ghost Max for work and walking and a pair of sunglasses for when I walk. The only unfortunate thing was that I walked out with just the sunglasses and had to order the shoes via their website to get a color I liked. This is the only drawbacks that I have found shopping with them--either I have to settle on color or order the color that I really want. Overall, a very small grievance in the grand scheme of the larger experience. I hope that the stores will stock more colors in the future. One thing I love about Fleet Feet is their rewards program. Anybody who buys good running shoes knows they are not cheap, even if they are worth it. The good thing about Fleet Feet is that they give you rewards certificates for future purchases. So even though I spent a pretty decent amount today, I got about 10% of that back in store reward certificates for future purchases. This is always a great company to shop regardless of location. Highly recommend them.
