The masseuses brought out warm buckets of water for our feet and immediately started with a shoulder massage to start to loosen our muscles. I am giving it 1 less star because the woman at the front desk is not friendly. She seems miserable. She seems outright RUDE actually. Front desk woman is not friendly and appears quite rude but don't avoid this place because of her. I will be going again.

The couples massage was just two tables divided by a curtain. They used a lot of pressure and kept going back to the same spots. There was a bit of a language barrier to be able to communicate the amount of pressure desired. Much of the focus (like at other Asian places) is on the shoulders and back... and it hurt! I liked the hot rocks on the back and certain other areas but I didn't feel relaxed afterwards. You could also hear a lot of things (other people and the phone calls) because everyone is pretty much in the same room. It has a sister location in Orangeburg which I assume is similar. They handed me a 20% off coupon and a punch card, which convinced me to give them a try after doing a color run and desperately needing a massage the next day. The spa was clean, quiet, and relaxing. It was just a really good massage experience. When I left, they even gave me green tea mints, and a mini bottle of water, which was nice. I've been there three times since they opened. I did have one rough experience with a male masseuse who was a little too aggressive.. almost angry, but the women there have all been fantastic. Overall, I highly recommend Sunshine Wellness Spa if you're looking for a relaxing and welcoming place to unwind.

From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by a pleasant staff who will walk you to the room. I have never had to wait for my appointment and even when I get there a couple of minutes early, they accommodate me instantly. One time they had to push my appointment back by an hour but that was communicated with me early on during the day which I appreciated a lot. When I got there, I still didn't have to wait at all. I feel that my time is valued and respected. It's also very easy to set up appointments with them!! You can do it via texts which is nice for all the introverts like me. The place is very clean, soft music, quiet rooms. The atmosphere they create is certainly relaxing. The massage itself is amazing!!! I have had Lucy and Leo during my visits and both of them are great at what they do. They have slightly different techniques but both were highly skilled and knew what they were doing. They speak limited english but constantly checks if you're ok and comfortable. I normally do 90 minute sessions where they do 60 minutes of body massage and 30 minutes of foot massage. It includes hot stone as well. I have recommended the place to my parents (who have been there a few times for couples massage) and few friends. Overall I think this is a wonderful spa with very reasonable prices. I will definitely continue to be a regular customer.

While the space has the standard no-frills vibe, the first thing I noticed was that the owners here have made sure to line the massage tables with plush, heated bedding and very soft leg cushions that immediately relaxed me - something I haven't seen in any of the other businesses. More importantly, the female masseuse I had was great! I like a lot of pressure and she definitely brought that; she also properly targeted the common shoulder, upper and lower back, and even glutes & leg areas where I think the majority of people experience lots of tension and knots (and I really felt it), whereas I feel like at other places the masseuses just mechanically work through whatever routine they're taught without any thought, and totally miss the spots I need addressed. I know I need more than 1 session to undo all of my built-up aches and pains, but this first massage really feels like it made a difference!
