quintessential new england farm and market. a must go to in the fall. excellent doughnuts and cider.

TOMATO LOVERS ALERT! There's no substitute for fresh locally grown tomatoes picked when ripe. And in New England it's a very short season. which means that most of the year the available tomatoes aren't very good. We were heading to Andres Institute of Art (An AMAZING sculpture park in the woods in Brookline, NH) and drove by this place. My instincts told me this was going to be special and they were right! I've lived by some great farm stands outside of Boston (Idylwilde and Wilson Farms) but neither has the variety- especially of tomatoes that this place has in August. There had to be 50 or 60 different kinds of fresh tomatoes! There weret least 20 kinds of Heirloom tomatoes with helpful signage describing the tastes, characteristics and uses. Loads of smaller cherry size tomatoes. There was plenty of other vegetables and fruits all reasonably priced. Some wonderful baked goods, and fresh cheeses were also tempting. And the corn we brought home was delicious. There was some delicious-looking jerk chicken on the barbecue outside. Next time! The place (like Andres above) is a real jewel!

This pie came with an insect.

Delicious, fresh fruits and vegetables. The corn is very good also. The farm sells fruit pies that look wonderful ( made by another vendor) Unfortunately, mine came with a large insect inside the wrapper. Lull's was great about giving me a credit. The strange part is they were not surprised. This was not the first pie to have insects. I think there is a problem that needs to be addressed.

Sweet Pepper plants thanks lull fram stand. Thanks to the guys that work in the spring for telling me how to replant them. Zack one love.

I was very happy with Lull Farm Stand this year and every year before that with every little thing that has happened this 2020. They were on point with there hand washing stands and signs asking customers to mask up before entering the store and provideing gloves to pick up Produce. The staff as always friendly and alway has an answer to my questions. I hope to be back for the Pumpkin lighting. I hope this year. A great place to visit from spring to fall. For me. And its always good to support local farming businesses.

    Fresh produce even in November

This is one of my wife's favorite places to shop. She goes here primarily in the summer and fall when all of the fruits and vegetables are out. They also sell meats, pastries, jams, jellies, and other products. Price are on the high side but so is the quality. They have apple picking in the fall. There is an old green Saab from the 1970s on display. I don't think it runs but it is cool to look at.

Tons of pumpkins and lots of different varieties.

I always look forward to a trip to Lull Farm. All year I go to buy their home made preserves or pick up all different varieties of fruit and veg. We especially love the fall. It is hard to find unpasteurized apple cider near me. Once you mess with cider it is more like apple juice, but Lull's is perfect. You can even watch it be made if you're lucky. Christmas trees in the winter are always beautiful and last much longer than others we bought in the past. Over all I have found the staff friendly and the prices reasonable. If you want cheap buy from a grocery store and support the farms in South America, buy here and support local farms and businesses. Better for the neighborhood, the environment, and one's health.

    Mums!

It's huge by farmer's market standards and has everything you could think of. Aside from the standard selection of veggies and fruits there's flowers, cheese, yogurt, granola, honey, baked goods, sausage, wine, jams, pasta, pasta sauce, pickles, meat, fish, and spice blends. Plus there were three vendors selling ready made food while I was there. If I lived nearby I would be spending every week and a lot of money here. My favorite booth was the Cape Ann Backyard Growers, which is a group of backyard farmers selling their produce. One of the backyard growers was a 10-year old girl who was a better salesperson then most adults. She offered me some rose tea sweetened with honey and told me about all of their products. I ended up buying some dried bayberry leaves (tastes like bay leaves) from her backyard for $1. I swung by Trupiano's sausages because of Jenna A's review and noticed that every minute someone came and bought sausages. Quite a following. Check out Maitland Mountain Farm's pickles- the giardinera (pickled veggies) are amazing. And the flowers she grows are the most beautiful flowers I have seen at a farmer's market. Plus, she sells little boxes of edible flowers. I forget the name of the vendor I got English Muffin bread from but it's very good. If you're a tourist, still check it out like I did. Parking is free at that time and the park is beautiful.

Okay, sure. Honestly, that's not all that important to me. I come here for two reasons: bread and sausage. My family loves Trupiano's sausage. It was once sold in some local store, but now, you can only get it here at the farmers market or from Trupiano himself. My parents swear that this is the best sausage EVER, so keep that in mind. I, personally, love the baked goods available here. My favorite is Swissbäkers, a bakery out of Reading. You just can't go wrong here. Try the chocolate croissants or the Choco Weggli. But besides the meat and baked goods (and fruits, veggies, fish, homemade jam, honey, etc), they have plenty of other stuff. Activities for kids, musicians, craft booths -- last year, we bought some bag clips from preteen girls who were raising money for cancer. Sweet, right? This year, it'll be open until October 7th. The hours are 3 - 6:30pm every Thursday. If you're a local, definitely check it out. I try to go every week.

Supposedly this is the #1 ranked fall farm by Newsweek last year...I haven't been to any of the other ranked locations or a large number of non-ranked spots so can't validly compare - but from what I experienced I'd say this is top notch. It's definitely goes beyond a regular "pumpkin patch" and has things to see and do or taste for all members of the family. People of all ages find joy in apple picking, fighting the honeybees, playing with goats, and riding in a wagon. Older adults can enjoy photo worthy moments in the sunflower fields too! Unfortunately I didn't get the chance to taste other products from the farm store but I'm sure they're wonderful.

We purchased the tickets and the bag at the little ticket house. In order to enter the orchard, you present your tickets to the employee. The animal farm had goats, sheep and roosters and there is no fee to enter. There are feed machines which accept quarters so you can feed the animals and wash stations to clean up after. In that same area is a large sandbox with some pretty cool toys. In the back are the flowers and pumpkins. No fee to enter either, we got some nice pictures with the pumpkins. Those are priced based on size and there are 4 of them at the entrance with prices so you know how much you will pay for each size. Plenty of parking and handicap parking. It was a nice experience, a tad warm, but otherwise beautiful day and the employees were all friendly. We were there for about an hour. TIP: if you plan to feed the animals, bring a small envelope or cup (like the size of a condiment one) to hold the food pellets. Otherwise you just have to hold them in your hand. The sheep area was loaded with flies, but towards the back barn part (near the sandbox), there were very few flies and a better goat feeding experience. To get 5 stars, it would be nice if: 1) They trimmed the grass in between the orchards at bit. It was really thick and high and very challenging for the toddlers to walk through, especially with so many hidden, dropped apples. 2) There was more than 6-8 pellets per quarter. 3) The store had a bit more selection. They did have honey sticks, donuts (which were just ok), some produce and T shirts. Maybe offer other locally made candy or goods to offer a more fun shopping experience.

Paid twice as much as I would have in a supermarket for bread they should be ashamed of selling. Never again. OK, but it's a farm stand, so how's the produce? In the past I've found it to be a mixed picture. First you need to realize that, despite the fact that they're a farm stand, most of the produce that they're selling is not their own or necessarily even local. So for a lot of things you're just paying more than you would at a supermarket for the exactly the same stuff. If you stick to the items that they mark as "our own," well, generally I've had no issues with the quality, but again, the prices can be pretty high for what you're getting. Over the years I've been going to Lull less and less often for that reason alone -- I want to buy local but when everything costs twice as much as at MB, it just doesn't seem worthwhile. (Aren't farm stands supposed to be *cheaper* because they cut out the middleman?) Anyway, after today's bread fail I've had it; don't plan on going back.

As they are famous for their peaches and apples at the local farmer's market, I really wanted to see the orchard itself as well as have an in-depth chat with one of the owners, Alan, who I got to know when purchasing their amazing produce. They have a really cute farm stand with lots of pumpkins and apples around this time of the year. You also have the option on going apple picking in the orchard and see how the different apples are grown. Alan, who usually doesn't take people on a tour around the orchard, showed me around and explained all their operations throughout the year. It was really eye opening to the farming industry around this region (compared to California where it never stops). Picked up some apples and cider, enjoyed the fall colors before driving through the back route where you can see the Boston skyline from quite a distance. Definitely recommend the non-touristy experience here.

If you have never had a farm fresh chicken, it really is something to try. It is hard for many people to understand why there is such a difference in grocery store prices vs farm prices (and then, organic farm prices). It's worth it to me because the flavor is so insanely better than anything I have bought at a store. This meat is even better than the chicken we get from a local non-organic farm. The other differences I noticed is that the skin is much heartier. It does not split easily. It's a healthier chicken, so the collagen is not compromised. My proof is also in the bottom of the pan. There was not much fat once the juices cooled. They solidified into gelatin, which tells me the collagen is healthier. We both noticed when eating the meat from bones, the bones actually had flavor! So, I cannot wait to get another one and make chicken stock from the bones. Also, the chicken was very big. I was under the misconception that only GMO feed and steroid injected chickens get that big at that young age. Not true. What is true is that all parts are proportionately large. As opposed to grocery store chickens that have huge breast meat areas, and the other parts are small. This chicken clearly got great exercise. We also got a sugar pumpkin. It was wonderful too. Some pie pumpkins are very hard to cut into, the skin is like bark. These pumpkins cut well, roasted well and had a nice autumn flavor. I will be making my pie soon. We ordered a turkey for Thanksgiving. I am very much looking forward to it. The turkeys are raised the same way the chickens are, and I am quite certain the flavor and quality will be unbelievable.
