However, I was honestly surprised by how small the serving was. The kiddie size was essentially one unpacked scoop and cost $6.40, which felt expensive for the portion. If you're looking for better value, I'd recommend driving a few miles to Lix Ice Cream in Litchfield. Their kiddie size is closer to what many places would call a small, and the portions are much more generous for the price. Sunnycrest has a beautiful farm setting and great flavors, so it's still a nice place to visit, but I think the portion sizes could be a bit more generous for what you're paying.

Despite having been back in the granite state for over 3 years now, I hadn't exactly gotten around…read moreto visiting an actual "farm-to-fork" local grocery store until now. Primarily due to the fact that I normally pick up fresh eggs from my bestie in Derry, I ended up searching for a contingency plan in the event she was already sold out on her end. Such was the case today. First, a caveat: if you're happening by this store southbound, the parking lot entrance will be the second turn on the right just past the store itself. It can be a little confusing due to the second logo sign on the side of the warehouse building which, to newcomers, may appear to be an entrance point. I have no idea if and what they keep back there (probably just extended storage), but from what I could ascertain, the main store is the smaller building in the center of it all. Naturally, the interior is (like I said) small and pretty unassuming, if I'm being entirely accurate. What you see is what you get and this is a good thing. Because everything looked pretty fresh and tasty to me. I possess neither the space nor memory to recall every last item they have here. But in addition to extra large fresh eggs, they also feature baked goods (to include my all time favorite - FUDGE!!) and real maple syrup. That's right! None of that synthetic, overly sugary crap for us true New Englanders. This, and other grocery stores like it, are the places we go when we want true, authentic maple syrup. So anyways, I was here for the eggs. Now, I may be writing this review prematurely since I haven't exactly tasted the eggs yet. But from what I can tell, this place is legit. They even have Apple and Google pay, which actually surprised me. The Yelp page didn't list this as a viable option at the time of writing this review. I will certainly be submitting an update recommendation to the powers that be. The staff were quite friendly and approachable. Didn't really stay long to chat or anything though. Those were just my first impressions. The location is tucked away, but easy to get to. It also appears they have quite the local following. So, I definitely will return. At some point, I'd really like to get my hands on that peanut butter fudge and genuine maple syrup. Can't really recommend this place any harder for picking up fresh produce and treats. Sunnycrest Farms is worthy of 5 extra large farm fresh eggs served any style out of 5.

I am very impressed with the North Andover farmer's market (located next to the CVS plaza on Main…read moreStreet), including the number of organic options--organic meat, fruit, eggs, and vegetables. There is seafood, too, which is impressive. I stocked up on organic meats (fresh and frozen) from Eva's Farm. The steaktips that I ate last night were awesome! Tender and flavorful. This time I bought lemon/pepper chicken, bacon/cheddar burgers, rib eye, and strip steak. Buy one, get one FREE on frozen meat! The boneless rib eye was $19.54, and the T-bone steak was $19.45. So, I spent $19.54 for the two. We tried their frozen strip steak and it was tender and delicious. Julie's Happy Hens sells a variety of organic eggs from chickens, ducks, and turkeys. A sweet little old lady from Hickory Nut Farm sells all things made out of goat's milk. I didn't buy her cheese or yogurt today, but I bought her goat's milk soap, and goat's milk brownie (as gifts). I also bought delicious corn, tomatoes, cuke, arugula, blueberries, and donut peaches--including organic produce from Gaouette Farm. (Lots of other produce--ranging from kale to beets to watermelon to apples--are available.) One of my favorite vendors is a mushroom purveyor: Mycoterra Farm. The beautiful oyster and shitake mushrooms (coupled with farmer's cheese and organic tomatoes) made for a very tasty lunchtime sandwich. I will be back next Sunday (hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.), maybe to purchase some seafood or handmade scrubs and candles. Bakery items, jams, cheese, cereal, and other goodies are there, too.

I think arriving around 10am allows you to nab a good spot close to the farm itself. There was already lots of folks around by 10am on Saturday. The main farm area has food options, including hot cider and apple cider donuts. The donuts are so good in the morning, I think they are super fresh and warm but get a little less fresh by the afternoon. There is also corn on the cob and hamburgers, etc. Later in the afternoon, this area also had some great live music, and a petting zoo area with cute goats. We were eager to get to apple picking. You can buy a bag for holding the fruits of your harvest; the options are half bushel and peck. We went with a half bushel, which ended up being great for three people. We then rode the hayride to the orchards, which was a very quick ride. They have tons of different varieties at the orchards, including Cortlands, McIntosh, Honeycrisp, Cosmic crisp, Shizuka, Empires, and Granny Smiths. My friend was especially excited by the Jonagolds. The hayride also takes you back to the main farm area, where there are lots of options for activities to enjoy. We could take pics in the pumpkin patch or go pick flowers. The flower patch had zinnias, gorgeous dahlias, gladiolus, and Irises that haven't bloomed yet. It was super gorgeous. You can purchase flowers by the pound or by the bouquet; pound is the cheaper option for sure, so I do recommend doing this. The line for checkout got really long by the afternoon and then we had to line up again with our bucket of flowers to get them wrapped in butcher paper.
