Packaged items here are ridiculously overpriced and not very good in my experience, but today's fail takes the cake: I just bought a package of sourdough bread, not even a full pound, probably 12 oz, for $6.99 (!), thinking "well it's expensive but at least it's probably pretty good" -- just to get home and find out it's some of the dryest, most tasteless bread I've ever had the displeasure of eating. Paid twice as much as I would have in a supermarket for bread they should be ashamed of selling. Never again. OK, but it's a farm stand, so how's the produce? In the past I've found it to be a mixed picture. First you need to realize that, despite the fact that they're a farm stand, most of the produce that they're selling is not their own or necessarily even local. So for a lot of things you're just paying more than you would at a supermarket for the exactly the same stuff. If you stick to the items that they mark as "our own," well, generally I've had no issues with the quality, but again, the prices can be pretty high for what you're getting. Over the years I've been going to Lull less and less often for that reason alone -- I want to buy local but when everything costs twice as much as at MB, it just doesn't seem worthwhile. (Aren't farm stands supposed to be *cheaper* because they cut out the middleman?) Anyway, after today's bread fail I've had it; don't plan on going back. read more

What a lovely store. Everything was so fresh. I bought tomatoes, peaches, cantaloupe, and baked goods. A cranberry bread, that makes the best toast. At 9.99 a loaf, it's well worth it. Service was prompt and friendly. Oh, my husband bought Rum Raisin ice cream,said it was the best he's had. I can't wait to return to this hidden gem. Thank you! read more

This a great New England farm stand. Good prices on common vegetables and fruit. Also prepared regional specialties, bakery, cheese. Very laid back friendly staff. You may also find some surprises like BBQ jerk chicken. Everyting irie! read more

We live a few towns away, and this is hands down the best place within milesfor whatever they sell: product, meat, cheese, baked things. Warm, welcoming environment, lots of nice smells and great things to take home and eat. read more

Great local produce, interesting finds, and plenty of healthy and organic things to try. Everything from fresh dairy to organic meats to gourmet pastas, sauces, and jams. Plus, there are GOATS in the side yard! Little bouncing, baby goats! read more

Okay. This place rocks. First of all, "lull" means "penis" in Dutch. That fact alone is enough to keep us stopping in on our trips up to Milford (and keep me debating whether or not to purchase a "Lull Farm" t-shirt), but their stock is lovely as well. Baked goods, candy, groceries, necessities...yay. Definitely worth a stop - you may find something you can't leave behind, like their Politically Incorrect Hot Sauces (photo posted). :) read more

Fun place with beautiful potted flowers. I bought a huge mum plant for $20 and gorgeous pumpkins.

I have been going here for about 24 years. I remember when they were smaller and just love how they have grown over those years. They have a nice variety of flowers and plants as the snow thaws, and then as it hearkens again, cornstalks and hardy mums amidst a pyramid of pumpkins. They have all sorts of breads and baked goods, super fresh fruits, vegetables, berries, potatoes, and flower bouquets. There are cases of a variety of local meats, dairy products, meat pies, and other items. They carry a variety of hot sauces, salsas, homemade canned items, cookies & candies, and they even have Squamscot's old-fashioned beverages, my favorite being the maple cream soda. They also carry hemp items and have a penny candy display. You can always get what's in season, like picking out your own corn and apples from their orchards. I remember picking my own with my girl scout troop. On one of my last visits, they had what looked like tomatillos in the husk, but were smaller and yellow. They had samples out to try, and after tasting the sweet little fruit, I had to purchase a pint. It's just a great place to go and browse, and I guarantee you will leave with something! It's my favorite farm stand. I can't wait to go when I visit my folks again. Hopefully it will be in the fall when they have these assorted baby squashes that you just steam and add salt and pepper to, for the most amazing, fresh-tasting squash you will ever have. read more

The Milford Lull Farm stand is a satellite location to the Larger Farm stand and Apple Orchard in Hollis, NH. This is a great place to get fresh Fruits and Vegetables. The prices can sometimes beet out the local Supermarkets. The location has a great selection of food items, fresh unpasteurized Apple Cider, fresh backed breads, and much more. you can also find seasonal items like Spring and and summer flowers, pumpkins in the fall, and trees for Christmas. the location is closed January through March. If you still wan their products in this time see their Hollis Location. There are two items I recommend the Apple cider which In the fall is made on site at their Hollis Location. It's Unpasteurized and contains no preservatives, just pressed Lull apples and the Glass container local Milk. I highly recommend the seasonal Egg Nog. The Glass jar dose require a deposit. read more

I think of Lull Farm not so much as a grocery store or a farm, but as a destination. Lull's wasn't much but a roadside farm stand when I was going to high school In Nashua. But after leaving New England for college, then work, then for good I find myself trying to visit Lull's as often as I can. The fact that it has a well-stocked grocery store certainly helps. If you need to buy quality food and ingredients, or flowers, Lull is a much better choice than a chain grocery store, except for maybe Trader Joe's. But Lull's isn't just a country grocery store, it's a working farm where you can enjoy the culture of seasonal New England. Pumpkins and apples in fall, flowers and planting in the spring, fruit and corn in the summer. Out back, the kids can see cows, goats, rabbits and farm hands tending the property. Yes, Lull's can be expensive, sometimes crowded (with tourists like me), and like most farms you might question the migrant labor practices going on behind the scenes, but overall it's a great place to experience New England for what makes it unique. read more

I stop at lull at least 1-2 times per week! Love their fresh fruits and veggies. But this week I was sorely disappointed as I went yesterday and bought a bag of cherries for 9.99/lb and today at the local grocery store the SAME brand of cherries for the same amount in a bag was 3.99/lb... This makes me rethink the markup ($5/lb??), I love to buy local as much as I can and support small business, but this price difference will make me look closer at the other prices of their products. There are so many farms scattered about up here in NH and in NE and Lulls is bar far my favorite. You cannot find celery root in a supermarket ! Shop for the seasons; strawberries, the peaches, tomatoes, fresh baked goods, their Black Cat honey, and gourmet items in the new addition are fantastic. I am addicted to this place can't recommend it any higher. Sure some things are priced up..so keep an eye on that. They cold storage their apples, I bought awesome Macs apples thru till first week of Jan. Everything taste better the closer to the ground that it comes from. Stop in weekly they are always evolving. Another favorite the All Natural -Non Irradiated Herbs and Spices. The Sweet Corn YUM. Hate to see them close Jan.11 till early Spring...sigh.. but they will be BACK AGAIN. Love it ! *ps: The peach festival.. baked peach bread was like a brick, and the chutney tasted like vinegar..these were NOT made at Lulls Farm; made by a local church drive function.
