"How come all my bad reviews that I had with patrons that I never even touch their hair let alone cut it..." (Luke's reply to my review. Screen shot attached). First, we are not patrons if we never got to receive your service because your ill attitude preceded the expected service. Second, do not quote a Bible verse about loving your enemies while you don't show any form of remorse after display of rudeness and bad attitude. That is a total disrespect to the scripture. Your line of business involves servicing people, it may be helpful to listen to the concern, accept and learn from it instead of acting defensive and very proud. I'm honestly so impressed. This was my first time in my life at 27, getting my hair styled and cut more than 4 inches at a time. I was really nervous and had been waiting several weeks to get my hair cut from my usual contact so I decided to come to Luke's today. I'm about to start school again and moving from the west coast to the east coast in a week. I was really wanting to get my hair done but was scared to not be happy with the outcome. My hair was great before don't get me wrong but it was so boring, appeared way too thin, and was difficult to even put into a clip which is the only way I do my hair everyday. I walked in and showed him what I wanted and he assured me it would come out good and even gave me a little more length compared to the image which made me less anxious. I called him ahead of time and he saw me right away. I was in and out in about 30 minutes!! The only thing that surprised me was not having many clients around that time so I highly recommend coming here for the quick and great service. He also gave me tips on how to maintain my hair etc which was helpful because I'm so clueless when it comes to that lol. When I was shopping around, the previous quotes I got were insane..them trying to charge you for a "consult" on top of a cut on top of a style...as a broke medical student it just wasn't possible for me. His prices were so reasonable and if I could have tipped him the cost of the overall cut I would have haha (seriously) but he was so grateful for the tip I was able to provide him with. I honestly could go all night so just see for yourself and I hope this helps anyone like me that is also anxious about having your hair touched. I will ONLY follow up with him in the future. No one will ever touch my hair again if it's up to me. Okay byeeee

Luke is a savior! I tried trimming my own hair and failed miserably but luckily Luke was open to fix my problem! I've gotten my hair bleached and dyed so many times in the past and for now I'm just trying to let it grow out and maintain it! He even gave me his own opinion in terms of how I should cut my hair based on the condition of it! He's super nice and cut my hair pretty quickly but efficiently! 10/10 I would recommend coming in!

I was not pleased after paying $35 for a haircut. Looking at all the pictures, I noticed that most of the haircuts were done pretty much the same way. I asked if he could cut my hair slightly shorter around my face due to the shape of my face. Instead of honoring my request, he went on to give me a lecture on how he is the best in his field - speaking of himself as the very best oncologist for cancer patients. He went on and on... it made me very uncomfortable. He flat ironed my hair before cutting but did not shampoo. I ended up with a mediocre haircut. My hair looked SIPER flat with no body - period. I don't mind listening to advices from experts but Luke was very arrogant and pushy. Will not go back in the future. read more

Avoid this place unless you want to be treated like crap! This man Luke is the worst person. He thinks he is a hair expert who knows everything and he might know how to cut hair but obviously does not know color so he tries to avoid doing it and talks down to people, even calling me lazy because I hadn't washed my hair before coming. He will argue with you, call you names and basically give you a condescending attitude so if you're into that then you should be fine. As for me, I think I'll go back to my stylist who knows what they're doing and is professional read more

Ive been going to Luke's for my haircut for the past few years and its the only place where Im 100% satisfied with the results. Luke is a professional at what he doed and a very friendly and nice person. He was involved in a very unfortunate accident but thankfully he recovered and back now. I highly recommend this place. if you really want the results you want, Luke is the guy. read more

Luke is an overall nice guy. He always gives me a friendly chat every time I was there also he cuts my hair very fast and his salon is near my house which is very Convenient. However he likes to gives hairstyle suggestion which is fine but sometime it can goes against him because he won't listen which makes me wondering does he really cares? Or he wants to do what is easy for him. Many Yelpers that gave him bad reviews all seems to have the same complains about his stubbornness. My suggestion to him is do what the customer wants because it's their hair and money. I stopped coming here now because I believe I shouldn't be charge $20 for my haircut because most places including the new place that I found are charging me $12. read more

LUKE no further! I was recommended to this salon by a friend. I came in and did a walk-in appointment around 5:30 PM and there was one more client ahead of me. In total, I only had to wait 20 minutes for my walk-in appointment until it was my turn to sit on the chair! Luke made feel so comfortable on the chair! His bluntness may put you off but we got lots of chats and good laughs. I got my hair cut about 6 inches then he flat-ironed it at the end. I can already see myself coming here in the future for all my haircut needs! He is a talented stylist and has been doing hair for as long as I've been alive! Thank you, Luke! P.S. The salon DOES accept card. Yelp says it's cash only but it's wrong! read more

Luke is amazing! This is my second time coming to the salon knowing that I was going to be taken care of and share some laughters. Sorry, I am giving him one star just because I cannot give him less. The worse service ever. When I want one hair style and pay for it, I want to get what I asked for. I am the one that paid for it . He tried to convince me that the way I want to do my hair is not a good style for me. This is the way I've been doing my hair for the past 40 years and I love the way I look. He tried very hard to explain to me that he is the only one that knows how I should look, not me or my family. Really? I am very upset, there is so much to say about my experience but is better to stop here. Anyway, in the same evening I got the hair cut that I wanted for only $10 after I waited 1 hour because there were 15 people ahead me. I do not recommend this place. read more

Came in for a haircut today and the first thing I noticed was that it was empty upon arrival. I was greeted and waited no more than 3 minutes when Luke came out to greet me. He then asked me what I was looking for and I told him basically my hair is in many layers and I wanted to get them trimmed. He suggested I cut my hair medium length and to lose the bangs that I used to have because it did not go with my frame. He gave me a huge speech and his opinion on why people should be washing their hair everyday. In my opinion, if I do not wash my hair for at least a day, it is unmanageable the next day plus it is oily. Anyways, lived the speedy service and my hair did turn out shiny, more voluminous and soft. Shorter length but hey it will grow back. I just wasn't that happy after days passed read more

I'd give Luke more than 5 stars if that was possible to be honest. I've been living in the valley for quite some time now and I've probably been to more than 20-30 barbers/salons. I used to go to a different salon but the main guy moved to a different state and ever since then I've gone to probably more than 10 salons to try new ones and trust me they were all terrible. Luke explained so well the technical work behind my hairstyle that no other person has ever told me or they probably didn't know what they were doing themselves. But trust me he knows what he is doing. I haven't had a good haircut in a while. What I liked about him is that he is very opinionated; if you tell him to do a certain thing and it's not the right thing to do, HE WILL ADVISE YOU AGAINT IT or give you a better option. He calls himself hair doctor, that only says a lot about his professionalism. And the price is moreee than reasonable shockingly. Although, I saw a few negative reviews and that kind of surprised me. I think the people that had negative things to say about him needed to go to a barbershop rather than a 'salon' so I doubt that it's 100% the truth. I wouldn't recommend this place to people who want those fade styles and etc because that's not what he does. If you have medium to long hair and you wanna look good, he is your guy. I went to Luke's salon for the first time last weekend and luckily it was his first weekend back from an accident! He listened to what I wanted and gave his suggestion to see if I want to try it out for my face frame. His cut was so precise and I have been waking up with perfect hair without styling! Usually my "lob" always needed to be flat ironed to hug my face but I haven't had to do that. Glad I've found my new go-to hair guru! read more

I leave 45 min away from this place but today I had an appointment with my dentist. I found this place through yelp. I enjoyed everything about it specially seeing that the hairstylist enjoys his work and he is so nice I believe this place deserves 5 stars if you don't know what style you want but I give 3 because I did not like the fact that He didn't listen what I want, my hair looks good and I'm satisfied with the service but that's not a hairstyle that I had in mind.it is a clean hair cut I liked more to have a style like Victoria Beckham which has more edgy and stylish look. I did not like the fact that the hair stylist did not listen he decided what is best for me and he just went for it. I read the reviews for Luke's and seeing that he was the A line bob king, I decided to give him a shot. I went to Korean hair salons my whole life and have never had a haircut that I liked. When I went to Luke's, I asked for his opinion. I wanted short hair but wanted to look mature as well. He explained the different types of bobs and gave a suggestion. I decided to leave it up to him. Throughout the entire cut, he made me feel at ease and explained what he was doing. The end result was fantastic! Exactly what I wanted. I have found my go-to salon. He is great with bobs but can style any kind. I recommend this place to all. My cut was $35. It was more than what I usually pay but I would rather pay extra for a cut I love than a lousy one for cheap. read more

Luke, where have you been all my life?!?!? After desperate attempts and wasted money of trying to find the perfect sylist to do an A-Line bob, I found Luke! Asymmetrical bobs are the MOST difficult hair cuts and require true talent. LUKE IS THE A-LINE BOB M-A-S-T-E-R. Seriously, no one can compare. His hands are magic! I came to Luke with a botched , choppy mess of an attempted bob and he gave me the most amazing, cute haircut I've ever had! Luke pays extreme attention to detail and this was such a relief for me because I am a perfectionist. To top off his incredible skills, he is also an awesome person and super easy to talk to. It was love at first cut!!!! lol :) I hope this is the review where you stop searching, call him up and make an appointment! The amount he charges for a hair cut is extremely reasonable for his mastery skill level! You have nothing to lose! Be rest assured that you are in the best possible hands. I happened to be in the area and really needed to trim my hair. My hair has always been healthy but split ends are inventible. Luke did a decent job. One of the things that got me most off guard was $35 for a trim. I'm sure I was ripped off when stylists nearby charge $15-$20. read more

My wife and intent to Luke's Salon today. We had neither of us been here before but because of all the positive feedback we saw here on yelp we thought it must be good and we should give it a try. We were both very happy with the result. The price is very good and the service was great. The people were trendily and they knew what they were doing. My wife had very long hair and not had it cut in 2.5 years and was a bit nervous but it was totally fine and she looks great! Great job and I will go again. read more

Very happy with my hair cut. I brought in several pictures for Luke to look at, one in particular I liked but it was shorter than I would have liked. I didn't have to mention that it was too short because he looked at my face and said that the style would look better on me if it were a bit longer. Luke was very pleasant, and listened to my desires and what I wanted to achieve with my hair. The end result was really nice, I have so much movement now and my hair looks really healthy and wonderful. It has been a long time since Ive had my hair done, and I wanted a change. I haven't washed my hair since Saturday, and it still looks great. I look forward to washing it tonight because the style seems very easy to maintain and repeat on my own. (I hate styles that are a pain to style) I got a wash, blow dry, cut and style all for only $45... very reasonable. I would definitely go back again! read more

I came in with my brother who is a regular, everything looked classy. I sat down and he already knew what to do with my hair. Very professional guy, and is very good at what he does. I got a wonderful haircut as well as a fabulous full set of nails. He was extremely gentle when doing my nails so it didn't hurt like when some Nails techs do your nails. Review overview: Luke is great BUT there are a few negative things I must mention. I have been coming to Luke on and off for three years. If I want to grow my hair out long or dye it a crazy color I will go to another hairstylist. Once I get tired of growing my hair out or color experimenting I will come back and get Luke's incomparable BEAUTIFUL bob cut. He has gotten better at giving unsolicited advice or saying passive aggressive comments so I don't get anxiety coming into him anymore. I did get the whole spiel though when I first came. I'm thinking he's chilled out from all the Yelp reviews. My worst experience was when I wanted to dye my hair purple but he said it wasn't classy so he would give me something else. I don't care too much for classy but I know what I want so I was insulted. That time I spent over $100 on a color I could have done myself. I didn't go for a while after that but I got over it, experimented with other stylists and then came back to him for a bob. Best Bob haircut in the SFV for the best price! I feel so light and happy after. Luke is a master in the Bob haircut and I have to give him that. Although I have had some bad experiences with him I do end up missing my Clean bob haircut after awhile. I get so many compliments afterwards! The salon is never too busy which I love. You get in and out real quick. You'll see a few customers come in afterwards but the salon never gets overwhelmingly full. The plaza it's in isn't classy nor is the salon too much but I don't mind. I would recommend it to friends for a flawless Bob haircut. I wish this man the best. Oh also the other lovely woman working here does the best eyebrows. read more

Luke's Salon is the best place to get an amazing haircut. I went there based on the reviews posted here and the experience was well above my expectations! I went in to get a Bob. I originally wanted it to be chin length but he explained to me that since my hairline on the back was lower I should use that length.. as it won't look weird and upkeep won't be as hard. I was given a beautifully executed Bob ( I've added pictures... I'm the one with the red hair). I will definitely be coming back here and recommending to everyone. read more

Luke. I can't really say anything that hasn't already been said. Luke is awesome! I walked in, showed him a picture of the cut I wanted, and he nailed it. It looks exactly the same as what I showed him. Parking in the plaza is free, which is nice, and the haircut was quick and painless. He flat ironed my hair before the cut so he knew how it would look afterwards. Nobody else has ever done that before. Not sure if it's a requirement for that cut, but it seemed to do the trick. Anyways, yep. I recommend him. I'm growing out my hair so I may not be back for this particular cut again, but I'm sure I'll be back to have Luke trim up my loose ends. :) read more

I just found this place and if it wasn't for yelp I would never knew this place existed. I went in on Saturday about noon, showed him a picture he knew what I wanted right the way. He suggested more angle to give the haircut a little more edgy and classy at the same time. So, I said; " you know exactly what I meant, what do I know? You are the stylist. Do your thing.". It turned out beautiful, this is the haircut that I always wanted for sixty eight years and I tried so many places and no one was able to do this haircut and finally I found a guy whose can do just perfectly right. I met Luke over a year ago after struggling with cancer. Had a bone marrow transplant, chemotherapy. You name it I had. I lost all of my hair. My self-esteem was completely gone. I just happened to walk in Luke's salon that day. My hair was a mess, bald spots all over. I was so embarrassed to take my hat off. Luke made me feel comfortable. I had no choice but to trust him. I'm so glad I did. To this day, I don't let anyone touch my hair. I received a lot of compliments about my hair. I thank God for Luke. After going through cancer for the last four years, I feel like a human being again. I'm getting my life back, but need all the help I can get. Luke's Salon is awesome! Luke is a skilled and professional stylist who knows how to cut asian men's hair, a skill which apparently is not as common as I had thought it was. He fixed my hair style that was not working for me and gave me a cool and contemporary look. He was fast, but he didn't miss any details and he made sure I could style my hair easily at home. He also gave me some advice on how to keep my hair in good shape. Luke's Salon is a nice and clean place with friendly staff and fair prices. Luke has a lot of good reviews on Yelp, so you know he is doing something right. I highly recommend Luke's Salon to any guy who is looking for a great haircut in the Valley. I have been going to Luke's Salon for almost 3 years now and have nothing to say, except HIGH PRAISE for both the quality of his haircuts and his friendship. I live down the street from his Salon and just had my hair cut as short as possible(because of the heat and humidity), since I came out here from Illinois, over 30 years ago. Both my Mom and Step-Dad also go there to get their hair cut and styled, since I recommended him. Sorry, I was cut off my stupid laptop...continued...
