I was interested in being a potential customer, but my first impression of the shop was not a very good one. Upon entering, I was not greeted by any of the employees. Usually smaller businesses greet their customers, heck, even the security guard at the grocery store greets people. A simple "Hi" or "How are you?", or even "Hi! How can I help you?" would have sufficed. Mind you, there was only me and one other customer in the store. I stood by the counter, hoping the people behind it would ask what I was looking to have done, but no. I politely tried to grab the attention of one of the ladies behind the counter, and she told me to "wait a minute" as she went to the back of the room for 5 minutes, and when she came back she acted as if I was not there. I didn't want to be rude or pushy, which is why I waited for her to speak with me. After waiting around for about 10 minutes, and being treated as if I was not even there, I decided to just leave. The shop smelled like cigarettes and depression. It just felt rude. I'm sure their printing jobs are fine, but I didn't appreciate the first impression I got from them. I will give them the benefit of the doubt, and assume maybe it was just an off day for them, but I don't think I would be visiting this shop unless it was the last option for printing. I walked in not knowing what to expect. I've read some reviews on google that were a little disheartening but decided to give it a go, to support a local printer, and get familiar with them for one of my many projects (I'm a designer). I appreciated that on the day I happened to stroll in, the owner happened to be wearing a cowboy hat (like the shops logo). I came to Luke's to print on 12x18" stock, then cut it down to stacks of 4x11. It was fairly priced, and the quality of the printing was good, the blade on their cutting machine was sharp (it's good to know if they keep their cutting blade in good shape - you don't want dull edges on an important project with expensive paper!). I do think that my knowledge of printing and cutting comes in handy here, but I've seen the staff go out of their way to help people with saving their file out properly for printing, which is very kind. The only downfall it seems is this historical method of charging a customer $10 to retrieve/"download" a file from a USB drive or an email. This was something print shops did in 2004 (and never at that price), when retrieving files may have been a little more annoying, but these days? It's seamless! If you want to charge for files, maybe $3. I was even told a lot of customers leave due to this - what a shame! read more

I went to Lukes Friday March 1st 2013. I had brought in a cd I needed printed and I wasn't sure exactly what was on the cd and what I needed printed. The woman at Lukes was SO HELPFUL!! She took the time to go over everything with me,they even called me when they weren't sure about something. The people at Luke's were so helpful I would highly recommend them! They are a terrible old fashioned copy shop. They don't like internet and "don't wont that type of business" was old lukes exact words. Anyways very unfriendly overpriced charged $10 upload fee to print business cards. These are the type of dinosaur businesses that are becoming extinct. read more

I didnt have high hopes for this place since there isn't many reviews, but I went to this shop last Friday, needed item really quick and since my order was not big, Maggie had printed everything I needed same day! She also provided great assistance as she called me with all questions and suggestion, didn't do anything unless I was OK with it. She was fast and professional! Will definitely come back! Oh and I am very excited that my Thank You cards and bottle stickers look this great. read more

This is a very good copy shop and Luke is very nice and I read that somebody called it a dinosaur business that are going extinct but I think that it is great that they don't use internet because those are the types of people who are ruining the world very nice shop definitely go there for a quick and easy print also very nice pricing read more

The absolute worst experience. From complete unprofessionalism and rude behavior to having to reprint because they did a terrible job leading my prints to be received late. I sent a file over that they said was blurry- meanwhile it was blurry due to a setting they had to do- pushing my print a few days later than it should have been. Then they said they were printing on another machine for vivid color. I received it and it was not vivid and it was horrible in fact. To go again to be reprinted two days later to an establishment full of nasty women that were horrific to deal with. Good luck using them, I certainly never will again. If you care about quality and reliable customer care this is not the place to go to. Please research another place. read more

RIP OFF!!! I went in to send a fax of 57 pages. They told me it would cost 99 cents a page. Ok fine. Then after the fax went through they tell me it's an additional 35 cents per MINUTE it took for the entire fax to go through. It took 8 minutes for the fax to go through. I said you didn't tell me that before you started faxing. The teenager who works there said nothing, staring at me with his hand out. While the adults who worked there said nothing and walked around the store eating their take out. SO UNPROFESSIONAL DO NOT GO HERE read more

I went to Luke's Copy Shop in New Dorp on February 26th, 2015. I had to have fliers printed for a fundraiser. For some reason, my flash drive did not save the picture on the flier. Because of my computer skills, or lack thereof, I could not print the picture out for them to copy. I was pressed for time because they were closing at 6pm. Becoming very stressed because it was getting late, a wonderful woman, Theresa, who works there, helped me save it on a PDF file. I was able to have my fliers printed and they did an awesome job. Luke, the owner, was so sincere and a true family man. If by chance you need a printer or copies made, please honor this small business. It's so nice to know there are genuine people in this world who really care about their customers. read more
