I wouldn't mind trying the Sloppy Joe sandwich, the BBQ sandwich, the Coney Dog or the Chicken Salad sandwich next time. Looks like you could get a quick lunch here if you were in a hurry. I'm not sure how the drive through works as I didn't circle the building. I prefer not eating in a vehicle so I partook at one of the many picnic tables provided which was in the shade, by the way. They are so much bigger than the kind found in a movie theater box. My old favorite, Milk Chocolate Cherry Cordials, turned out to be one of granddaughter's faves too. I should have bought more, much more. She tried a Mud Ball for the first time and loved it. Of course we had to pick up some milk chocolate and dark chocolate caramels as well. Martinsville Candy Kitchen is a popular destination when in the downtown area. Right now you can watch the new addition being built onto the old courthouse and see the renovations taking place. The entire city block is undergoing a dramatic change from what it used to be right across the street from the Candy Kitchen.

The cases had a varied selection of cookies, donuts and pastries. The clerk told me that their most popular donut was the Apple Cinnamon Donut, but they didn't have any. The clerk said, "I'll make you one!" In ten minutes, she came out with my donut. And it was fresh, soft and delicious. Lots of crispy cinnamon sugar, it melted in my mouth. Great service!
