Another great Mom/Pop classic pizzeria! Great pizza and steak subs, friendly service and fun nostalgic atmosphere. We had ordered ahead for pick up, but when we saw the dining room, we decided to eat in. They had all the food prepared to go. As soon as they knew we were staying, they took all the food out of the to go boxes and re-plated them for eat in. We said they didn't have to do that, but they insisted. Great customer service! We ate here after reading some good reviews online. Pizza was OK, but nothing special. I'm not a fan of thin, hard, crusty crust. We ordered their special and the hawaiian. The mushrooms on the pizza were canned, not fresh. and the crust was burnt on one. The garlic bread was a roll cut in half with a few pieces of cheese sprinkled on it but not melted. The pizza could have been good if the crust wasn't burnt. We told the owner/waitress, but she really didn"t seem to care. I can't believe it was awarded best pizza in Naples. The lasagna was more like manicotti with 2 meat balls on the side. The worst lasagna I have ever eaten. First time ordering here, recommend by neighbors. We did carry out. Pizza's were just sitting there, not in a warming oven and it was cold by the time we got home. So I've been going to Luigi's for about 4-5 years now. I have to admit I love the fancy wood oven pizza joints, and the popular flat breads at many new places... but there is something about Luigis that I simply love! It is my comfort food place, my guilty pleasure, my happy place when I just want a simple couple of no bullshit slices of pizza. Nothing fancy or overly elegant. Just simple pizza, with a nice sweet tangy sauce, and lots of it, and a perfect crispy crust that is both thin yet crunchy, but all dough without that buttery flakiness you find in Chicago style pies, all too prevalent in SWFL. Sorry Chicago I'm an East Coast guy. So yeah I owe a big shout out to my absolute favorite local pizza joint! Those ovens have decades of love coating them. Hands down delicious! Crust was firm but not burnt, cheese was authentic, and there was no grease dripping from the pizza! Finally a pizza in Naples that I can write home about! This was absolutely the worst pizza we have ever eaten. Starting with service: I ordered a root beer while I waited for my order. It was only filled about half way after the foam settled. The waitress sat at the dingy booth checking her smartphone and never acknowledged my presence. Unreal. Totally unbelievable! When the order was ready, the guy behind the counter just raised his arm in the air to signal me. After getting a very insincere thank you from the cook, I walked out. The counter lady who took my order was busy working on her tax return. NOT KIDDING! I left. Looking forward to at least enjoying the pizza. Sadly, that part of the experience was worse than the service. The pizza (pepperoni and double cheese) was way undercooked. It was very doughy and floppy. The cheese was as chewy and tasteless as old bubble gum. There was a serious lack of pepperoni! Maybe 3 per slice. The pizza tasted like there was no seasoning in the sauce. Honestly, I thought I was eating the box. This was a total waste of $20. If they went to Walmart and bought their frozen pizzas and warmed them up, they would have an immensely better product. Friends living on 951 recommended Luigi's, so I figured if they drive down 41 for a good 'za , then we can, too. Luigi's Pizza is better than any of the franchises. The Pizza Bianco was as good as its gets with garlic, ricotta and olive oil- the second slice tasted better than the first! Their round version of the Sicilian may not be for NYC purists( if that makes any sense) but way better than Jet's Pizza. Plenty of red sauce that is mild and fresh and just enough cheese- a saucy and fresh pie! By all accounts, this is a good ol' american pizza joint with fresh house made dough and where the owner probably made my pizzas! They were steady 2:30-3 pm in the afternoon so that tells you they have a following. I look forward to going back and trying the dinners the other reviews are crowing about. read more

Went to Luigi's on a friend's recommendation, unfortunately we didn't have as good of an experience as our friends. I'm always up for a hole-in-a-wall Italian joint -- as long as the food is great. This is not that kinda joint. First, they don't have very many toppings to choose from (we wanted to build our own veggie pie). There was no broccoli, no spinach or artichokes available. Secondly, their pizza is just "okay" IMO. Not true NY style pizza but they give it a valiant effort (if NY style pizza is what they're shooting for). I ordered eggplant Parmesan. Sorry, we don't have eggplant, the waitress says. Apparently they never have eggplant because it's not even on their menu. What kind of Italian pizzeria doesn't have eggplant?! lol. So we opted to order chicken parm which was mediocre and was put on a roll. We wanted the dinner, however the dinner (served w/ pasta) is only available Tue-Sat. Our waitress never bothered to tell us that until it shows up at the table on a roll. Speaking of waitresses, I know what another reviewer meant about the waitresses sitting in a booth looking at their phones. We experienced the same thing. All in all Luigi's isn't the worst place for pizza/Italian food, but it's certainly not high on the list of great Italian restaurants/pizzerias. Gave them 2 stars. They've got work to do. read more

It's hard to put my finger on it but it just lacked the (((wow))) factor considering it was average size and the $25.00 price. Very good crust, but the sauce was lacking in flavor. It still measures up as very good I'm Naples. For NY pizza I prefer Moravela's over luigi's, but Luigi's over Mama Mia. We think the sauce at Napoli on the Bay is the best....but Luigi's crust wins. read more

The location is convenient, but parking is limited. Seating is also limited. The place is homey and comfortable. The service was slow, but it was during the lunch hour rush.
