Luigi’s Famous Pizza - Pizza Near Me - Hazlet, New Jersey

Not consistent, sometimes it is so delicious and sometimes the crust is overcooked. But when the crust is not burnt it is amazing

I stopped in for the first time last weekend. Grabbed 2 slices to go, one margherita and one plain. They were both solid, very thin which was nice. The place itself leaves a bit to be desired. A little older, not going to have 10 fresh specialty pies to choose from, etc. but it got the job done. When I stopped in on a Saturday night they had only 3 options. I do think they need to check on their pizza making a bit. The dough was thinner in the middle of the slice than the center, thus making it flop like the pic shows. Overall, not bad. read more

Best in the area hands down. I honestly think the bad reviews are from their competition! Pizza is amazing, cheese steak is great, rice balls amazing, salad is fine . Delivery may take a while because they are worth the wait! This review is real not a fake bad review read more

So I guess the owner doesn't care about his customers because he doesn't offer refunds for the horrible food the cook makes. His food is awful & disgusting. I wouldn't feed it to my dog. This restaurant is awful & horrible. Don't waste your money! Villa in Holmdel has the best pizza & food. I highly recommend it. read more

I recently tried Luigi's with my husband and 8 year old daughter after a trip to the park. I got 2 slices of the veggie pizza. Honestly, the best I've had in a long time. I come from North Jersey and a Sicilian family, so I'm very picky when it comes to pizza and pasta. The girl behind the counter and the owner were both very nice. My family and I will definitely be going back. read more

Ordered wraps and it took over 2 HOURS to be delivered! The food wasn't hot and the wraps and fries were soggy.

I gave up on this place! I have order from here 4 or 5 times. Two of those times my order was wrong and they had to send back the right meal and made me return the one they sent (I don't know what they would do with that). Also the meals were ok, not great. We also ordered pizza and that was good, no complaints there. Last order was probably in May and this time they really screw up. I order a wrap with grilled chicken and instead they sent chicken cutlets, my pasta was supposed to come with spinach and tomatoes and it was just pasta with olive oil that looks like olive oil soup. The girl taking the order couldn't be ruder, after arguing with her someone else talk to me and gave me a $10 off which at this point did nothing as I had to throw out the pasta. Go somewhere else for food. This place shouldn't be open. I enclosed pictures of my pasta, you can judge yourself read more

LOVE this pizza. By far my favorite in the area. HOWEVER, this the 3rd time my Slice order did not go through. I use the app because most of the time when they are busy the phone line is shut off. AND to make matters worse this time, they still charged me and this is what I received. The old man would be so proud... read more

last week I ordered pizza and it took 2 1/2 hours to get to me but offered me a 25% discount on my next order. ordered the following week for two pies and only received one they didn't take the full 25% off of the one pizza that I received and they wrote the wrong address down so by the time I receive my pizza it was cold I called them and they didn't even offer anything for receiving the cold pizza and not getting my other pizza so I ordered from Princess Marias and I got my pie in less than 15 minutes . Not saying their Food is bad but their service sure does suck. They need to get better customer service relations. read more

Pizza was good but nothing to write home about. Bathrooms were dirty and the sink was halfway out of the wall. Ambiance is simple, with wooden tables and chairs. Parking is somewhat limited but as long as it isn't busy you're ok. Decent pizza place. read more

Luigi’s Famous Pizza - Seafood and pizzas - Pizza Near Me - Hazlet, New Jersey

Thinking my little Italian friend has retired. Pizza today was not even close to previous 20 years. horrible

Was in the mood for a cheese steak sub so ordered the whole cheese steak sub deluxe with peppers, onions, mushrooms and potatoes. No potatoes- we looked, not one!!! Mushrooms were lacking. Small and microscopic- counted 6 little pieces on a whole sub? Peppers- 2 large slices of pepper and 3 tiny pepper pieces. Onions- 1 large piece, and a few small burnt pieces. The bread was charred and black on the top. The cheese was not spread on the bread but globbed on and to add injury to insult- TWO WHITE INCH LONG HAIRS IN THE SUB!!! That quarter of the sub ended up in the garbage. Meat was blackened in some areas and no real taste. TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED!!! THIS IS LUIGI'S!!!! UNACCEPTABLE!!! So minus the onions, the dogs shared the meat and cheese portion. Also bought a slice of pizza- more like 4 inches of tomato sauce on old pizza and about an inch of cheese covering the slice. Burnt taste- need to clean the oven!!! Not the Luigi's I remembered- going to Romeo's instead. read more

Never again I have been going to Luigis in Hazlet for years It has been going downhill for a long time now Waited an hour and a half for a small pie and a chicken Parm I live less than a half a mile away And when they show up the chicken Parm has barely any sauce on it basically dry Save yourself the aggravation and go one light down to Romeo's read more

Pizza was good but delivery was very very late and pasta fagioli soup was not good at all. Fine for pizza if you don't mind waiting.

Got a small, good plain pie for fair price. Simple and classic. Not bland and not over the top. This place does loads of business. They seem to be on a tight niche network with customers and faces, friendly. Did not leave feeling ripped off or underwhelmed. read more

Have heard so many great things about this place that we had to try it. I think it's good but the crust is way too thin to hold heavier toppings. Otherwise food was ok. Calamari had black pepper on it and other seasonings which my family wouldn't eat so that was a waste. read more

Usually order from here with no problems. Ordered a family special for $31. Pizza crust was unusually thick and burnt. Lettuce, tomato, and onion on sub were cut so thick! Imagine biting into a hunk of red onion. They must have been having a really off night or their normal chefs had the day off. Not sure if I'll return at this price point and quality! read more

I grew up in Hazlet and for nearly 20 years, I had been a fan of Luigi's rectangular pizza. Growing up there, who wouldn't have been? Anyway, I have some very fond memories of this place growing up, and I recently passed through on my way to NY and decided to try it again and introduce it to my traveling companions, who were making fun of me for being so nostalgic, and sure enough, I decided to dare them to try it once we hit 35 and we ordered takeout. We arrived at the shop about 5 minutes after the estimated pick up time and when we arrived, it was ready. The verdict: the pie tasted the same to me as it did the last time I had it which was almost 10 years ago. My friends on the other hand loved it, and later told me that it was better than the pizza we had in the city. I concur, but maybe its the nostalgia talking. read more

We''ve been getting the large rectangular pie from Luigis for years and it's consistently good. Crispy crust and just the right amount of cheese. We usually get half sausage for those of us meat-eaters. Friendly service too. read more

This place is an absolute joke. I was in there 2 nights ago to grab a quick slice. It was about 6pm and there wasn't anyone else in there...I walked in and the 1 guy just looked at me and didn't even acknowledge I was there. There was no pizza selection to choose from not even a plain pie... I walked right out after standing there for two minutes.... Don't waste your time here. Go to Palumbos in the shopping center up Laurel or Romeos on Union. read more

Absolutely terrible, don't even try to order from here. Me and my girlfriend ordered a pizza, a panini, and pasta from this place for delivery, and we were highly disappointed. I was told that it would take 45 minutes, and so I expected to wait that long. I did not expect to wait a full 2 hours to get my food. The food was not even that good. It was cold, soggy, and had almost no taste whatsoever. I will never be ordering from this place ever again. read more
