Small HK milk tea. So satisfying on a hot day!

I think a 3-3.5 is fair. I agree with Stephanie, the prices are insane. I've been here twice already and my first visit I spent a whopping $40 on 7 buns/pastries and a milk tea!! Jeez. Also the small milk tea ALONE is $7!! Are you crazy? But damn is that milk tea good. I'm not going to lie, I think it's delicious. It's upsetting it's $7. I've gotten it twice already in a span of a week. I'm ashamed. Lmao. Anyways, although the buns are kinda expensive, depending on what you get, they're actually very filling and quite large. I got a cheese hot dog bun and I was full for lunch. Like actually full. So for a bun it's expensive but for a lunch, it's actually cheap lol. Their sugar baos are also gigantic. Things are best when they're fresh here and of course warmed up, which they can do for you at the counter. I think it's a great addition to the outlets and I will probably come back often but just for a quick eat. Defs a more pricier place if you're trying to buy things to bring to a party or gathering....or you can get 6 of whatever the cheapest thing is and not pay tax lol.

Holy geez, it is like $5/bun now and $4/small HK milk tea? Sign of the times, I suppose. Sign of the times. Lucullus Bakery definitely adds another "cheaper" food option for people, so that's a bonus. Buns are pretty big and can literally be a meal. And just like other bakeries, you don't pay any taxes if you buy 6+ items. I picked up 2 buns, 1 - "spicy" chicken (not spicy, but actually quite creamy with some pre-cooked piece of chicken thrown in), 1 - coconut "bearclaw", is what they call it, but Chinese ppl will know it by another name. Interior was quite spacious. And just like the old school Chinese bakeries, you pick up a tray and a pair of tongs and pick your own buns! It was awh-ight. Just sticker shock, I guess.

Brampton has many Portuguese bakeries. So perhaps I'm spoiled and shouldn't judge a place based on…read moreone experience. But because it was rather disappointing, I don't think I'll return. The positives: there's lots of variety of baked goods and desserts, almost to the point where you wonder if they are jack of all trades, master of none. I only had a sandwich, so I can't evaluate anything else. Seating is plentful if you choose to dine-in. I had a pressed sandwich with Portuguese cheese and salami. It tasted quite good. I also had a cappuccino which was fair. The negatives: First, while they weren't busy and there were two people working, it still took a very long time to get my coffee and then my sandwich. I also noticed their pricing is higher than other Portuguese bakeries because they charge for everything separately e.g. extra dollar for heating/pressing the sandwich. They also had a small and large sandwich option. I ordered the small sandwich, but asked for a different cheese because their cheese options were limited to two mild flavour ones and I wanted something with a stronger flavour. While they didn't tell me, I figured it would be more expensive. When they charged me for my meal, I was charged extra for the cheese and meat. I pointed out I had ordered a small sandwich, so I didn't understand why I was being charged extra on the meat, but apparently the person who made my sandwich had given me extra meat. Well, I didn't ask for that and it isn't my fault she gave me more. The cashier wasn't happy with my argument, even pointing out she had given me 4 slices of meat instead of 1 (as if to say I should be charged even more), but very grudgingly gave me a dollar off the bill. Anyway, my point is I know of other Portuguese bakeries nearby where you can get consistent fast, pleasant service with a good variety and quality of food and no nickle and diming. So I don't see myself coming back.
