Jarvis was awesome, great to work with and fast with the turnaround. He literally sent me the link to review the photos as we were driving back to town from North Shore. He is totally cool and easy going. Quick responses whenever I messaged him. He captured our family beautifully and we couldn't have asked for better results. We met him in his area in North Shore and the location was beautiful. We even got a picture of the rainbow :) We would definitely look for Jarvis for a photo shoot again if we are in town. This review is long overdue. JT did our family photo shoot on the north shore. I wanted to do a photo shoot for our family before we left Hawaii. He was very professional with scheduling and following up to make sure we were still good for our date. He knows what he's doing and the pictures are phenomenal. His son came out with him to our shoot and it made it easy for our kids who are six and three. We could not have asked for a better photographer. His work is beautiful and captures how lucky we live HI. I highly recommend him to anyone. I would definitely use him again. read more

It was a pleasure working with Jarvis. Taking family pictures is a bit of a challenge as we aren't the most photogenic people. But Jarvis and his assistant made us feel very comfortable and managed to get spectacular photos of our awkward selves. We are very thankful. I hope that we could have him take our family photos through the years. read more

JT was great and easy to work with. He has an amazing eye for angles and how to position us so we didn't look too posed. We got several different backgrounds in just one spot. It was a beautiful day and perfect spot to take pictures. It was difficult to select from the great pictures he took so we bought them all. Thank you for your service and we will always support a veteran business! Mahalo! read more

JT did an amazing job for my vow renewal. He was super helpful and easy to coordinate with. He offered helpful suggestions and in the end everything was perfect. We took photos during our ceremony and then headed to the North Shore for photos on the beach and everything looked amazing. His prices are super reasonable. So pleased! read more

I highly, highly recommend!! I'm not sure where to begin because everything about our experience really was fantastic (cost, fast turnaround time, professional, quality photos etc). JT took our family photos in North Shore (group of four & a 9 month baby). I was really happy about the extremely fast turnaround time (our photos were uploaded the same evening after our session, and after we chose our photos, were available that day). I liked that he uploaded all the photos taken and let us choose the ones we wanted edited for keeping. The photo session itself was also really enjoyable! The North Shore location he chose and just-before-sunset timing provided a beautiful backdrop. The photos are high quality and taken with beautiful perspective. We did the Basic Portrait Session, and the cost was very reasonable compared to other photographer quotes I had gathered in my research. My family will definitely be going back to JT for future family photos! read more

This was one of my best experiences on island as a model. JT made me feel really comfortable because he professional beginning to end. We did mostly headshots and played around with lighting and smoke. It was a new and fun experience. I highly recommend his services. read more

I have used this company for a multitude of photos over the years. from 2010-present. Beach, Studio/Portrait, and even my maternity shoot! I love working with JT (owner and photographer). He is always great at communicating to make sure he captures what you want. Always on time, prepared, professional. WHAT SETS THIS COMPANY APART FROM THE MANY MANY OUT THERE: -JT will not waste your time. He knows locations and prepares for environmental elements if you are shooting outdoors. Works fast and efficiently. -HONEST: He will tell you what looks good and will be honest if it wont photograph well. I hate it when the light is perfect and the photo would be great except...MY STOMACH LOOKS HUGE! or my hair looks crazy! Most photographers dont pay attention to the model, just the light and focus. JT will make you look your best. -Edits and sends you photos faster than anyone else out there! He understands how anxious you are to see your photos! -Most importantly...beautiful photos for great price! Positive vibes every time! Thank you JT! read more

Jt is an amazing class act photographer. His eyes for the perfect shot for portraits is so keen, I've gotten the best photos from him for just me when i was modeling, and for me and my newborn son also just recently. Colors, background, sceneries, depth, location- the photos always come out so immaculate I love them so much! Michael was his assistant and he was so sweet and helpful and watched my son for a little while too so mommy could take a few portraits. The turn around is so quick too. My friend are already asking for his website so we can do shoots together or for their family too! :) thank you SO Much! read more

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Our family was going to Hawaii for the first time and we wanted to capture some beautiful family pictures with the sunset during our stay. I was able to secure an appointment with JT and could not have been more excited for our session. The day of the shoot was cloudy and rainy--we thought there would be no chance to capture the memories I'd envisioned and was devastated. However, JT kept in touch with me throughout the day with updates hoping for a break in the weather and providing us with location options based on where the storm was moving. Thankfully as we arrived at the location, the weather lifted long enough and JT shot some beautiful portraits of our family. I appreciated his dedication, work ethic and patience to ensure our family left with the best memories of our time in Hawaii. Thank you, JT! read more

JT is such an awesome photographer! Made sure to plan our photo session during optimal weather so that our sunset photos came out perfect. I'm not used to being in front of the lens, but JT made us super comfortable and guided us to ensure all our pics came out looking very professional. I will definitely come back for photo sessions in the future!! read more

I was looking for a photographer for family pictures in Hawaii while visiting from California. We had a huge group of 16 people. I contacted Jharvis via yelp and he responded quickly. He always responds very quickly to any questions. We did our session at magic island. Unfortunately the weather was terrible--cloudy, windy and rain but we managed to get through the shoot. The day of the shoot, Jharvis was even checking the weather and asked us if we wanted to reschedule, which was very kind of him, but my family decided to stick with the date of our session. Jharvis and his assistant are very kind and easy to work with. His photos are amazing. His turn around time on proofs and edited photos are super fast. I would definitely recommend Jharvis. Thanks again Jharvis for capturing our family pictures and giving us beautiful pictures to look back on. read more

A friend of mine recommended JT to me and I am so glad she did. My due date was moved up by 5 weeks due to health issues, and I was super pressed for time. JT worked with me super last minute to make this maternity shoot happen and I couldn't be happier. He met us with his assistant Michael, they were super professional and the pictures turned out AMAZING. I had the proofs to review the next morning. Thank you so much for a great experience read more

We're so happy we found JT to be our photographer for our maternity photo shoot in Oahu. He was easy to work with and his helper Michael was fantastic. Michael managed to entertain our fussy toddler so hubby and I can sneak in a couple photos of just us since little guy didn't wanna be in the pics anyway =p . That was amazing! If it weren't for him we wouldn't have been able to get those great shots in! The pix turned out wonderful and the fast turnaround time was much appreciated. After deciding to visit Hawaii for our Babymoon, my wife suggested that we should consider having a maternity shoot there as well. While initially skeptical, I agreed and began our research on photographers offering services on Oahu and Hawai'i islands. My wife found JT and contacted him for a quote. She received an immediate and professional response. JT shared his gallery and portfolio with us and every single picture made us even more sure of our choice. The price was discussed ahead of time and he was very open and clear about his pricing - which was a welcome sign. He also shared his ideas and thoughts when asked about our outfits for the shoot. Once we were in Oahu, he was in constant touch with us to provide us updates on weather and whether it was a good day to shoot. On the day of the shoot, he provided us the address and the time of the shoot. The shoots mostly take place on the North Shore as it is much nicer, quieter and cleaner than Waikiki. On meeting JT and his wife (acting as his assistant), they immediately made us feel at home and explained the way we would proceed with the shoot. He was happy to answer any questions that we had and loved sharing his experiences and his stories. The shoot was very professional and ended on time. He must have taken about 65-70 pictures, most of which were near perfect. We were sent a link to our photos that night and we were shocked by that. Most photographers take weeks, but JT's work ethic is so solid that he likes to get them out to customers ASAP. Overall, the pics were solid, the price was great and the photography team was super awesome. Will definitely recommend him and will work with him again! Mahalo! read more

Shoot #3-- BABY IS HERE! JT took my pre-showing pregnant photos, my maternity photos, and now here we are at the newborn photos. I don't know what else I can say about his work...or just him in general. The photos never fail, he's such a great guy, so accommodating, and patient(babies go by their own schedule, so we had to stop for a feeding and a mini crying break). He's also very speedy in getting the photos to you. We finished the shoot and had the link for the photos within a few hours. They're amazing. Baby C looks so sweet in them and he managed to capture a couple goofy looking ones. I highly recommend anyone looking for a photographer to look no further. You found the right one with JT!! Thank you so much for being so amazing, JT!! read more

My husband and I had a trip scheduled to Hawaii and decided that we should go ahead and get maternity photos taken. When doing research for an out of state photographer, the portfolio and reviews of Lucky We Live stood out to us and we were very excited to set something up. I was easily able to get into contact with our photographer (he responded back very quick) and he was able to set up a session time for us ASAP. The session was very professional, laid back, and fun. Jarvis was great to work with. My Wife and I aren't really into taking photos but we wanted to remember her pregnancy, so we decided to hire a professional photographer. Jarvis made us feel really comfortable and made the experience very fun. We met him at the North Shore and the beach he took us had amazing views. Jarvis is very particular of the weather, so he and I agreed to cancel our original photo session due to the rain. We took the photos one week later and it was well worth it. I found Jarvis via yelp and it turned out great. His prices are great. I had conducted about ten quotes with several companies for some maternity photos and Jarvis was by far the best price. Jarvis is really quick in responding to emails and texts right away. He also gives you back your edited photos really fast. I would totally do business with Jarvis again!!!!!!! A plus!!!! read more

So happy with my session and how everything turned out! Jarvis and his assistant Elliott are both super friendly and professional! I was a little nervous being that this was my first photoshoot for anything ever! ...but they made me feel so comfortable!! We had to re-schedule my shoot due to weather and I was worried because I was already 37 weeks that I might give birth before we'd be able to reschedule! ...Jarvis reassured me that we'd get it done and even offered to and ended up doing my shoot on his birthday even though I asked him over and over if he was sure he wanted to!!!! Jarvis is such a pro. We wanted a large family photo session (8 adults, 4 children) on a specific beach at specific time of day. Despite the challenging environment we put him in (windy, sunny), the photos came out great and he couldn't have had a better attitude or been more supportive of the large group logistics. As promised, we received the low-res proofs the same day and processing for the photos we selected were turned around quickly. A great experience all around! read more

I was born & raised in Oahu & moved away to Colorado when I was 10. Came back home for the first time with my boyfriend, & I decided 2 days before that I wanted professional pics done before our trip was over. Jarvis worked with us & was able to do a shoot with us on short notice. He was very informative & let us know what he was doing every step of the shoot. We received photos in only a couple of hours & let him know which pics we wanted edited, & we received finished products within 6 hours! We were very comfortable working with him & we are in love with our photos! Highly recommend! read more

I wanted to do a maternity shoot on a budget and researched many maternity photographers on Oahu online when I came across luckywelive.com. JT was very professional, prompt in replying to my questions and made me really feel comfortable on the beach showing my baby bump. JT is a pleasure to work with! Not enough words to describe how comfortable I am with him behind the lens. A very creative mind, and all of our pictures came out to prove it. We shot at Keiki beach on Oahu and managed the capture a beautiful sunset in the background. He was aware of weather conditions and managed to keep me posted before the shoot took place. JT was amazing! While in Hawaii for a family vacation I decided I wanted a few maternity shots as I am pregnant with my first. We are staying at the Turtle Bay Villas and he is located in the North Shore. I booked him for a mini session (to keep my husband sane) and it was the perfect amount of time. He was able to capture so many amazing shots on a beach only about a mile from his residence where we met. The beach was clean and quiet. The sunset was incredible! After our mini session he had the unedited shots to me within an hour and then once I chose the shots I wanted he had them edited by next day. JT is friendly and very professional.
