I booked a 30 minute photoshoot a few months ago for family pictures in November. I got an email response back quickly to confirm. The email said that they would be sending over a list of spots for the photoshoot soon. I noted in the booking that I had no ideas on locations so we're open to suggestions. I didn't receive that list but wasn't too bothered because the photoshoot was months away. It is now October and still haven't received the suggestion list so I sent a text to them and asked if the list could be sent over so we could pick a spot and plan our outfits. The text was read and I never got a response but I gave them a few days, just in case they were extremely busy or needed to figure things out on there end. After discussing it with my husband, we decided to just cancel the photoshoot since our appointment is a little over a week away and I still haven't heard back. I sent a text over canceling the appointment and they responded very quickly to that. It was a bit nerve wracking to try and find a family photographer in Hawaii all the way from California but I came across her page/website and found the perfect photographer. Her website is user friendly and her package and pricing was listed so there was no need to call around for quotes. She had great packages to offer and I love how you can also schedule your session online and seeing all her availability to plan ahead. We booked months in advance. It was our first family trip to Hawaii and we wanted to capture some memories while we were on vacation but I was so worried about our youngest and whether he would be able to cooperate. Barbi was so great with my kids and very patient. Her knowledge of the area helped out tremendously so we were able to get photos with sand, rocks and even water. I appreciate Barbi so much and thank her for shooting our outdoor family portraits earlier this month. We as a family made a last-minute, difficult decision to have my mother undergo traditional chemo for the second time around. Her wish was to have family portraits done before treatment started, in the event that she would lose her hair again. So here I was on a Friday, frantically researching and calling for quotes here and there, and Barbi was so very accommodating and immediately responded on Yelp message. She explained how the session would work and provided suggestions on photoshoot sites, taking into account my mother's weakened condition. Barbi explained later that she had a close family member diagnosed with cancer and the matter was very close to her heart. I appreciated her concern and sincerity to help accommodate my family, especially through these trying times. She offered the photoshoot session at no cost, in part because she works with a charity for patients like my mother. I was surprised but appreciated the thoughtful gesture. Barbi made us feel relaxed and took extra care of my mother who was a little emotional and physically tired. We took breaks here and there at her discretion which was nice. Honestly, I could not think of a better experience! My family even commented afterwards to me in private that they were thankful the photoshoot happened and that my mother was happy to have her loved ones together on this rare outing. They all loved their experience on the photoshoot with Barbi. I cannot recommend her enough. The digital gallery was made available two weeks after the shoot. We love every single picture!! So glad I found Barbi!!! My fiancé and I planned a trip to HI on our Spring break, and I wanted to plan an impromptu photoshoot for our engagement. Our first professional photography session ever. Barbi was available literally within a week or two of when I contacted her, and her online scheduling was super convenient. She responded very quickly and did a great job communicating with me. Didn't require a deposit to schedule a session, which is non-conventional for a photographer and takes a lot of trust, but I love that about her and her business method. Prices are affordable and transparent. We did Collection 60, 1 hour with an outfit change. She gave me an address, and we just showed up! We decided to go to Waimanalo, and that morning it was super windy. Out of everyone's control. She was flexible in going elsewhere, but we stayed and made it work. Looking back, should I have gone elsewhere? Yes, just because my hair was flying everywhere, our clothes caught the wind, and the sunrise was cloudy and muted at times (I really wanted the colorful pink sunrise), which did impact the pictures. Though they turned out lovely, still! My partner was a bit nervous and probably needed someone to tell him exactly what to do with pictures in terms of where to look, how to smile, where to put your hand, etc. I think we both would've liked more direction/instructions to ensure we looked our best, so make sure you really study how you want your pictures to turn out before your session or show Barbi inspo pictures. I showed her some pictures of poses I liked at the beginning of the session, and she was super open and willing to try. Keep in mind you can't expect your pics to look exactly like the inspo pics! We paid online after the session. The photos came back super quick! They were beautiful, easy to download online. She worked with us to pick pictures we really loved, and we so appreciate her putting the extra time in doing that. I highly recommend Barbi, and next time we are in Oahu with family, would definitely trust her with taking our family photos. read more

We just received our photos from our 30 minute family portraits photo session with Barbi, and I can't stop looking at them!! Barbi was wonderful! My husband and I found her online as we made a last-minute decision to go to Oahu for our babymoon. Her prices were very reasonable, and she was very quick to respond to us.
